WASHINGTON (AP) — The Latest on former President Donald Trump’s second Senate impeachment trial:
Enough senators have cast “not guilty” votes to acquit Donald Trump of inciting the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The vote will give the former president an historic second acquittal in an impeachment trial.
House Democrats, who voted a month ago to charge Trump with “incitement of insurrection,” needed two thirds of the Senate, or 67 votes, to convict him.

The Democrats argued in the short trial that Trump caused the violent attack by repeating for months the false claims that the election was stolen from him, and then telling his supporters gathered near the White House that morning to “fight like hell” to overturn his defeat. Five people died when they then laid siege to the Capitol.
Trump’s lawyers argued that the rioters acted on their own accord and that he was protected by freedom of speech, an argument that resonated with most Republicans. They said the case was brought on by Democrats’ “hatred” of Trump.

Zoom’s Operation Relies on China
Zoom’s business operation model presents yet another source of potential security and privacy risks. Zoom is headquartered in the United States, but its business operation heavily relies on China.
In its Securities and Exchange Commission filings, Zoom acknowledged that it operates research and development centers in China and employed more than 700 Chinese workers as of Jan. 31, 2020. Since Yuan emigrated from China, he has been instrumental in recruiting research and development talent in China, where labor costs about a third of what it would in the United States. This hiring of cheap labor ensures Zoom is one of the few high-flying tech companies that is profitable, but it also could expose Zoom to security risks.
Citizen Lab found that Zoom routed some calls made in North America to communist China, along with encryption keys used to secure those calls. Zoom quickly explained that in the process of ramping up server capacity to accommodate the massive influx of users during the peak of the Wuhan virus pandemic, it “mistakenly” routed calls made in North America to its Chinese data centers.
This is deeply concerning, given that users share sensitive information, including business intelligence, health-care data, and government policies over Zoom. The data collected from Zoom meetings is a gold mine for cyber thieves and spies.
Then there is China’s 2018 cyber security regulation, which allows Chinese authorities to walk into any China-based internet company or data center to access and take any data at will — without a warrant. Authorities can also legally conduct remote surveillance of these companies and their facilities.
The truth is, Chinese authorities already compelled companies to share their data with the government long before this new cybersecurity law. This law has merely given the Chinese government’s censorship and surveillance a legal fig leaf. Should the Chinese authorities demand that Zoom hand over meeting data and encryption keys, the company is in no position to decline. The recent incident of the temporary termination of U.S.-based human rights user accounts confirms Zoom will comply with the Chinese government’s demands in order to keep its business functioning in China.

Josh Hawley, R-Mo., recently sent a letter to Zoom CEO Eric Yuan, reminding Yuan that “trading American values for Beijing profits never ends well. … When you censor for the Communist Chinese Party, you may think it benefits you, but the only one who will benefit in the long run is the Chinese Communist Party. … I reiterate today that it is time for you to pick a side: American principles and free-speech, or short-term global profits and censorship?”
We, too, need to pick a side. We can choose from numerous other video conference software; PC Magazine just released its top 10 picks for 2020. If you must use Zoom, use it only for online happy hours or for checking in with Grandma. You should think twice before sharing any confidential personal, business, or government information over Zoom.

I watched very little, actually close to nothing, of this trial. However, you couldn’t help but notice that Left Wingnut Regressives entered false evidence. Certain “tweets” that didn’t even exist and falsifying some from accounts the did exist.
It makes you wonder if they had an FBI (an organization infamous for drug running and child sex slavery) attorney prepare some of their submittals.
In presenting evidence for “one of the most dangerous terrorists in this nation …” The FBI submitted falsified evidence.

Whatever they do, it must be in the halls of Congress. They don’t dare try him in a criminal court, because it would open them up to the discovery process, and allow Trump’s defense to explore questions of
1) whether the FBI informed Pelosi about the pre-planned attack (which the FBI has admitted they were aware of)
2)why Capitol security was so much more lax than usual, and
3) why repeated requests to bring in the National Guard (made by the Chief of the Capitol Police) were refused.

I just read this about Australia. We have that going on here. We’ve banned therapy in some states but not all of them. Some judges have over ruled parents from stopping gender changes. So far they haven’t penalized them yet with being a crime… That may be in the works under our perverted imbecile. It’s horrifying.

There was no victory here. The Democrats, Rinos and every person who claimed a legitimate protest on election fraud was a terrorist attack on the Capitol ….these people have permanently damaged America.

Regarding the first impeachment a politician from the Democratic Party actually said, “If we dont impeach Trump he will be re-elected”, I think it was Ellison, but he was a black guy.

The Democrats are lying through their teeth to hide their fraud.
The Repubs are not saying the truth and hiding a lot of things too.
The truth is that Iran, Chian, Russia and everybody else is holding the USA hostage to their interests because the USA is hiding Obamas birth certificate scandal despite that everybody knows all about it.

Wow! Bombshell to me, in NC. I have been knowing Burr had been very corrupted for years now. He was heavily involved in allowing the Russian Collusion Delusion to proceed. I had already emailed both my RINO Senators asking that they vote against impeachment. Not a surprise that Burr betrayed us, but I have been so busy I hadn’t had time to check.
We have been “solar sprayed” to death for awhile. Now we are rained on to death and have a solid week of rain predicted on our extremely soggy soils. I see a geo-enineered ice storm in the near future that will take out some of my huge trees and those on the road. I have to prepare myself for real difficulties straight ahead on top of the stresses I already had. It appears that the devil is now over control in America except for what God limits his permission to do.

“Not guilty” does not meran “innocent.” Did no one hear listen to Mitch McConnell’s scathing summary of the damning evidence of what Trump actually did, and its consequences? Trump tried to overthrow a free and fair election’s result and install himself as autocrat by Mike Pence’s lone vote as Presiding Officer of the Senate. When Pence grew a backbone and refused to violate the Constitution, Trump literally incited his mob to “Kill Mike Pence.”
