Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Launches Ambitious Crackdown on Big Tech

19

Finally we have a politician who is taking action against big tech. Governor DeSantis’ remarkable leadership is the reason millions of Americans are flocking to Florida. If President Trump decides not to run for POTUS in 2024, then Governor DeSantis is unquestionably our candidate. He is awesome.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Launches Ambitious Crackdown on Big Tech

By Breitbart, February 2, 2021

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced a major push to curb Big Tech’s political bias and censorship today, with measures including a ban on the censorship of political candidates and mandatory opt-outs of content filters for citizens of the Sunshine State.

In a 45-minute speech, the governor identified Big Tech companies as the leading threat to American democracy and freedom of expression today, and pledged that Florida Republicans would take action.

The new regulations announced by DeSantis include:

  • Mandatory opt-outs from big tech’s content filters, a solution to tech censorship first proposed by Breitbart News in 2018.
  • A private right of action for Floridian citizens against tech companies that violate this condition.
  • Fines of $100,000 per day levied on tech companies that suspend candidates for elected office in Florida from their platforms.
  • Daily fines for any tech company “that uses their content and user-related algorithms to suppress or prioritize the access of any content related to a political candidate or cause on the ballot.”
  • Greater transparency requirements.
  • Disclosure requirements enforced by Florida’s election authorities for tech companies that favor one candidate over another.
  • Power for the Florida attorney general to bring cases against tech companies that violate these conditions under the state’s Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act.
  • [the_ad id=”110283″]

This is the widest and most aggressive range of regulatory and legislative solutions so far proposed by any U.S. state to tackle the problem of tech censorship.

Cruz and Rubio are cut from the same cloth but Cruz is smoother and more experienced at being a poisonous snake. I will never understand why people liked it when Cruz talked down to them….or how he got a pass for “accidentally liking a porn website…”It was CRUZ had was the D.C. Madam’s hot client. That is WHY his wife Heidi had a break down. Here she is hustling for Ted at Goldman Sachs for campaign money and favors and Ted is busy cheating on her. Oh, he also magically forgot about the million dollar Goldman Sachs money that went to his campaign. It kind of defeated the lie about nickels and dimes from the peasants funding his campaign….and it goes on and on with him…

Ted Cruz ‘likes’ explicit porn video from account called
‘SexuallPosts’ on Twitter

Mr Cruz has sought to make light of the incident, which he blames on a ‘staffing issue’… (Sure Ted….)….

Another mishap comes a year after Cruz’s campaign pulled an advert as it featured a softcore porn actor

I moved to the Free State of Florida from Boston 20 years ago while I was a Junior in high school… I’ve never been more proud of my state & my governor. This guy knows his stuff and has the b@lls to say it out loud.

I live in TX. I wish our Governor Abbot (some call him Governor Grab-it for his Covid response) would grow some testicles and start doing some of the things Florida’s Governor DeSantis is doing.

If DeSantis wants to make these stick, they need to be promulgated as part of action to bring these Tech-Monopolies under Public Utilities Regulation.

Like the TV news and media, ignore tech companies. Stop using them and stop supporting them. You will not miss anything quitting your twitter fix.

Big Tech knows the POWER of social media; they know it helped Trump win in 2016. It’s not just for taking ridiculous selfies or posting what the grandkids just did that was so CUTE!

The internet is the most powerful communication medium since the telephone and the TV. Only cowards roll over and allow the Left dominate them – forcing Conservatives into an echo chamber or ghetto so their ideas can’t be heard by the most people.

If you don’t want to use social media – then DON’T. But you should’t expect everyone else to just roll over and give up.

This DeSantis guy is red hot. He just gave us a new slogan for the free world: “You can whiz on my leg but don’t tell me its raining”.

Its a start, but they also have to be held legally accountable for all their content since they have begun spinning it. If you spin it, you have to eat it. Major reform, put all web censorship in the hands of the individual. If you want to exclude porn, choose filter x. If you want to exclude socialist posts, choose filter “s,” if you want to exclude gratuitous violence, choose filter “G”, if you want to exclude election fraud posts, choose filter ‘EF’. etc. Empower the user. All sites should use this parental control system, Parler, Gab, MeWe, as well as Boogle [formerly known as Google], you Tube and Msn. etc.The tech is already in place, they are withholding it from us so that they can impose their own bias on us. Please help us on this, Ron!
