Democrats Introduce Bill to Ban Trump From Being Buried in Arlington National Cemetery

The “No Glory For Hate Act,” introduced by California Democratic Rep. Linda Sanchez, would ban the federal government from commemorating Trump in any way.
H.R. 484 states “twice impeached” presidents will be banned from being buried at Arlington National Cemetery and prohibit federal funds from being used to display their names or acknowledge their achievements.

It would prevent federal projects, buildings, statues, or lands from being named after Trump, including park benches.
“For years, Donald Trump poured gasoline on lies, encouraging racism and hatred, then lit the match on January 6th. A president who has been impeached twice does not deserve the honors bestowed on a former president,” Sanchez said in a statement.
“We should never glorify the hatred Donald Trump personified as President,” she added. “This bill ensures that there is no glory for hate, not a building, statue, or even a park bench.”
At least 13 Democratic representatives have co-signed onto the anti-Trump bill.

Nationally syndicated radio host Todd Starnes slammed Democrats for promising unity but stabbing the former president in the back.
“This is bonkers, but this shows you the level of hate and vitriol that the Democrats have for this president,” Starnes said on the Todd Starnes Radio Show Thursday.
“They just can’t quit him,” he added. “Unbelievable.”

You Underdog, unlike the sponsor of this Bill, know the Article 1, Section 9 limitations on legislative powers. Don’t worry, Congress will soon figure it out with respect to this bill and the bill will disappear into the annals.
On another note, I wonder how many of the sitting Congressmen and Senators have read the Constitution, how many could correctly answer the Constitutional questions in a basic civics test, how many could correctly answer the Constitutional questions in the test for citizenship, and how many could pass a law school level test on Constitutional law.
Unfortunately, things can get written into the Constitution that are not there through the “Penumbras and Emanations” Clause (see Griswold v. Connecticut and Roe v. Wade), or legislated under the misused, but now all-encompassing Commerce Clause. See Wickard v. Filburn, 317 U.S. 111 and its progeny. There was a reason why an 18th Amendment was needed to prohibit alcohol and a 21st to allow it again, rather than Congress just declaring it illegal as they now do with heroin and other illegal drugs.
But, I don’t think that even this Supreme Court could say that Linda Sanchez’s Bill would pass Constitutional muster. Hopefully I am right, and Alice in Wonderland Constitutional interpretation would not extend to say black is white, white is black and Sanchez’s proposed legislation is not a bill of attainder and an ex post facto law.

Democrats don’t know the Constitution – look at the unconstitutional laws passed in Blue States. How ias it that unconstitutional laws must be appealed all the way tot he SCOTUS before they are thrown out . Only people with deep pockets can afford to get the illegal laws thrown out
Illegal laws should be an automatic Jail sentence for the Governor that signs the law and the speaker of the legislature that advances the law.

President Trump wasn’t effectively impeached. The contrived impeachments failed when the Senate voted not to convict, in both cases, effectively nullifying the charges and associated House authority, EOS; just like in a court of law, where the prosecutor’s entire authority is “canceled” after a verdict of “innocent”, and the “case” is dismissed.

If this law is passed, there’s an easy answer to it. If Republicans retake the house they can then vote to Impeach Bill Clinton, there are still many things he can be Impeached for. It won’t matter if he’s found guilty in the Senate, or not, according to precedent now established by the Demoncrats, he only needs to be Impeached in the House. If this is done, then this law will apply to Bill Clinton having been Impeached twice, then watch the scramble to get rid of this Law by the Demoncrats. As they say, there’s more than one way to skin a cat.

The legal term for this action is “Bill of Attainder.” It is an act to remove something of value to an individual from that person based on after-the-fact activities by other people. Authority to pass such a law into effect is specifically denied.to Congress.
