America Was Energy Independent For First Time In 70 Years, Until Biden Came – Now He Won’t Talk

Senate Republicans claim they have been denied their requests to meet with Joe Biden over climate policies they say threaten “thousands of good-paying jobs.”
Story continues below advertisementSenators, led by Dan Sullivan of Alaska and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, had sought the meeting after Biden canceled a permit for the Keystone XL pipeline and ordered a pause in the sale of new oil and gas leases on federal land. He additionally ordered agencies to review dozens of Trump administration regulations and promised “ambitious” new limits on greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles.
On Friday, Sens. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma and Steve Daines of Montana wrote on Twitter the White House had refused the request.
“Considering the effects their radical war on fossil fuels will have on nearly half the country, it is clear Oklahoma jobs are not the priority they should be,” Inhofe tweeted.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed Friday no meeting was planned, though she didn’t explicitly rule one out. Biden is committed to “working and engaging with Democrats and Republicans to address the crises we’re facing, including climate,” Psaki said.
A spokesman for Sullivan, who led the meeting request, said the senator had not received a direct response from the White House.
The senators, many from oil-rich states, proclaim Biden’s early climate and energy decisions run counter to his Inauguration Day promise of unity and his “stated goal of creating good-paying jobs,” particularly for workers in the energy industry.
“You’ve threatened middle-class jobs in the midst of an economy challenged by the pandemic, with no hope in the near future for these workers and their families,” the senators said in a letter to Biden.
Biden’s climate policies have also drawn a skeptical eye from elected Democrats, including the likes of governors of New Mexico and Louisiana, where oil drilling is a prime source of revenue.
New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said she would be “working with the federal administration to make sure New Mexico is protected and secure,” amid Biden’s executive actions.
And Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards noted the state was “concerned” about any moratorium affecting the Gulf of Mexico.
Biden has cast the fight against climate change as an economic opportunity, with the promise to unleash jobs installing solar panels, building wind turbines and weatherizing homes, though the moves will have inevitable effects on oil workers and coal miners.
Republican senators balked at such claims in their meeting request, saying it’s little comfort to workers building pipelines and drilling wells today. “Industries which will create new ‘green jobs’ that can replace the ones lost are still years away from maturing, and provide no immediate hope for our workers,” they said.
“We hope you will convey our sincere disdain for these orders and do everything within your power to protect the energy industry of New Mexico and the thousands of workers who are being negatively impacted,” Dale Janway, the mayor of Carlsbad, New Mexico, said in a letter Thursday to members of the state’s congressional delegation.

Don’t assume the Supreme Court will stand up for you. The imbecile is threatening to pack the court if they don’t “reform” their rulings and rule accordingly. A committee has been set up to look into Supreme Court “reform.” I guess their not stopping election fraud wasn’t enough.

According to a new study by the U.S. Department of Energy, the world has enough shale resources to satisfy more than a decade of global oil consumption. The report, which marked the first time the department has assessed the size of global shale resources, pegged technically recoverable shale oil resources at 345 billion barrels, or about 10% of global crude oil supplies.

The study surveyed shale reserves in more than 40 countries and determined that Russia had the world’s largest shale oil reserves, at around 75 billion barrels. The U.S. was second with about 58 billion barrels. Rounding out third, fourth, and fifth places were China, at 38 billion, Argentina, at 27 billion, and Libya, at 26 billion.

The move is part of a $1.1 trillion (£738bn) spending bill approved by the Senate on Friday that will fund the US government until 2016.
Oil prices rose on Friday following several weeks of falls, as the markets cope with a glut of crude. (What no market? Sooo, why do this?)
US West Texas Crude gained 1.1% to $36.38 a barrel, while Brent rose 0.7% to $37.32 a barrel.
US oil producers will now be able to sell crude to the already saturated international market. (Again with the no market BS? Sooooo, why do this?)

So to make a market, Obama supported the Ukrainian revolution, that took place in Ukraine in February 2014. Obama supported it to piss off Russia and make them shut down pipelines to Europe that ran though Ukraine.

Now most of the ‘Canadian Toxic Tar Sand’ oil and ‘Fracked US’ oil and gas is for export to the EU and Asia. It is being sold as fast as possible for profit, … NOT to give US energy independence for future generations.

President Biden let them know how things would be straight out of the box when he shut down the Keystone pipeline forever.
For Putin this was Christmas in January, letting him know that evil Trump policy of an energy independent, even exporting, United States was a thing of the past and that his most treasured commodity—oil—would go up in value.
At the same time, the Chinese would reap the benefit of the excess Canadian supply while seeing their American adversary weakened, its negotiating position diminished.
Fracking, too, is clearly an endangered species. Not surprisingly, crude just reached a one-year high.
All this for no discernible improvement in carbon levels, in fact likely the reverse. The oil will now be shipped via railroad cars to the Louisiana refineries, a far more risky process than the underground pipeline that has been undergoing (and passing) the most stringent environmental inspections for years.
I wonder how soon the United States will be buying oil from China and Russia.

Why Trump Should Press His Case On Voter Fraud
Donald Trump can win his Senate trial on the merits, not just a technicality, and he should.
With a major shakeup in Donald Trump’s legal team this weekend, increasing attention is being paid to what defense the former president will mount in his upcoming Senate impeachment trial. Conventional wisdom is that Republican senators would prefer Trump simply argue that it is unconstitutional to impeach a former president. Reportedly, they do not want him to argue he was not guilty of inciting a riot, and most certainly do not want him to argue that there was, in fact, widespread election fraud.
One can understand why these senators would rather rule only on the narrow issue of the constitutionality. It is far less contentious than the other two arguments, and why even bother with them if the first argument makes them moot?
But for Trump, who has already lost his largest platform on Twitter, the ability to lay out the case on why he didn’t incite a riot and that there was widespread fraud may seem irresistible. It would be far riskier, but there is still a very good chance he would be acquitted, maybe by a closer margin — possibly with some annoyed votes in his favor, but acquitted nonetheless.
On all three counts, Trump has very reasonable arguments to make.

I live in Georgia and I watched Mr. Pulitzer’s testimony and presentation to the sub-committee concerning the presidential election. I also saw him come back after lunch with Rudy Giuliani and he showed the sub-committee on his phone that the early voting that was going on for the two US Senate seats was being hacked from offshore as he spoke. Obviously, nothing came of this evidence and, for their efforts the chairmen looking into the election process were removed from their chairmanships by the Lt. Governor of Georgia, Geoff Duncan, a Republican, and replaced them with two Democrats!! And the Republicans control the Ga. House and Senate. Absolutely amazing.
Mr. Pulitzer is a certified genius and his scientific acumen is beyond question. He said his analysis of the ballots can even reveal if the people handling them were smokers. Incredible.

The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating SpaceX over whether the company discriminates against non-U.S. citizens in its hiring practices and said Elon Musk’s company is stonewalling a subpoena for information, court documents revealed Thursday.
The DOJ’s Immigrant and Employee Rights Section received a complaint of employment discrimination from a non-U.S. citizen claiming that the company discriminated against him based on his citizenship status.
“The charge alleges that on or about March 10, 2020, during the Charging Party’s interview for the position of Technology Strategy Associate, SpaceX made inquiries about his citizenship status and ultimately failed to hire him for the position because he is not a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident,” DOJ attorney Lisa Sandoval wrote in a court document filed Thursday. The document was a request for a judge to order SpaceX to comply with an administrative subpoena for documents related to how the company hires.
The DOJ is now in full force again in attacking anyone or any entity that doesn’t conform with their far left ideals.

If a new bill that has been introduced in Congress eventually becomes law, the 2nd Amendment will still be in the U.S. Constitution, but for all practical purposes the rights that it is supposed to guarantee will be dead and gone. Now that the Democrats control the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives, there is going to be a major push to ram through some form of gun control legislation. If it is not this bill, it will be another one, so we need to be diligent.

The Supreme Court is the last branch of government remaining where conservatives hold power. But that may soon change. And Joe Biden hit the Supreme Court with a warning that could force Clarence Thomas to retire.
Joe Biden announced the creation of a commission to study reforms on the Supreme Court.
This announcement followed months of Biden refusing to reveal his position on packing the Supreme Court with as many as six new liberal justices.
Writing in The Daily Caller, Ellie Gardy wrote that this commission was really nothing but blackmail.
In the piece, Gardy argued that Biden would hold recommendations to alter the makeup of the Supreme Court over Chief Justice John Roberts’ head as a threat to force conservative justices to rule in the Biden administration’s favor.
Gardy wrote:
President Joe Biden has issued a thinly veiled threat to Chief Justice John Roberts in the form of a new commission that will study Supreme Court reform. The threat is clear: if Roberts doesn’t limit the court’s conservative influence on key issues like abortion, gun rights and immigration, Democrats will pack the court.
In other words,
“Nice court ya got there, it would be a shame if something happened to it.”
In 2012, this bullying strategy paid off for Barack Obama.
