DeSantis vs. Media on Big Tech Bias: “You Can Whiz On My Leg, But Don’t Tell Me It’s Raining”

By Real Clear Politics, February 3, 2021

At a press conference on Tuesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis told reporters that they along with Big Tech protect the Democratic party. DeSantis cited the Hunter Biden story being buried by Twitter and other Big Tech companies and told reporters they would absolutely publish hacked information about him.

Story continues below advertisement

“You’re trying to tell me if there’s hacked information that could damage me, you guys wouldn’t print it? Give me a break. You can whiz on my leg but don’t tell me it’s raining,” DeSantis said.

“You guys would print it every single day if you could. And Big Tech would allow it to proliferate 24/7,” he added.

DESANTIS: Well, I think it’s been done in a way that’s completely unprincipled. They mentioned the Hunter Biden (story.) The Hunter Biden story was true, okay? We now know it was true. And the typical corporate media outlets, they just chose to ignore it; obviously they wanted to beat Trump. They had a view on the election. They didn’t want to give it any air. So we rely on social media to go around that, not let corporate legacy media outlets control the discourse and let us speak.

So you had the New York Post to run it and you couldn’t get any traction; you couldn’t get any reach on it because Big Tech put their thumb on the scale.

So that was true. What they said at the time, “Oh, it’s a conspiracy,” or, “It’s based on hacked information.” Are you kidding me? You’re trying to tell me if there was hacked information that could damage me you guys wouldn’t print it? Give me a break. You can whiz on my leg, but don’t tell me it’s raining. You guys would print it every single day if you could. And Big Tech would allow it to proliferate every single day, 24/7.

So it’s not being done on a principled basis, and it’s not — there’s threats on me. And it only gets taken down if law enforcement goes and tells them to do it. Otherwise it just stays up. They’re not moderating any of that. So they haven’t done a good job in it; the thumb’s always on the scale in one direction, and we just need to bring, we just need to bring some protection for folks. I really, really worry that when you have a business owner that may rely on some of these tools to do small business, if they engage in wrongthink or they go to the wrong political event, then all of a sudden, they (Big Tech) can act in concert and take you off, you need to have protection against that.

I like him more and more! I eat my heart out wishing he was our governor!

Instead we have this colossal POS as our governor and yes he actually said that.

Wow. Wow! Talk about an arrogant politician! But, our CA gov is not far behind. Though gruesome Newsom may have not said anything like that recently, his dining, openly, at a three star Michelin restaurant, in violation of his own policies, effectively said, ‘I couldn’t care less what you little people think.’

You are behind the curve, Nohio’s little mikki da-whiner had his 10:00 curfew before gruesome newsom …. that 10 pm is some magic hour. Prior to da-whiner’s curfew, after he allowed bars/pubs to re-open, he put last call at 10 …. that tricky little virus hides until that magic hour.

Gruesome is a rank amateur/piker compared to little mikki da-whiner.

Ah yes, you may be right, Mohandjob. mikki da-whiner may be ahead of gruesome Newsom. But, only by a thin margin. Da-whiner must be a genius to know the virus’ hours and that 10pm is the magic hour. Don’t forget, gruesome Newsom is building a high speed rail that will go through CA’s central valley, from farm town to farm town. It will allow thousands and thousands of farmworkers to commute across the state, in air-conditioned style. Oh, what a great thing it will be. And because it’s over budget and probably won’t be finished until 2087, just means they want to get it right.

If little mikki could only have gotten that funding. He’d have a high speed rail, and have it completed by 2086. He’s big on efficiency. You think the PedoJoe might toss little mikki some cash?

All little mikki has to do is ask. Why, Pedo Joe is practically running a money factory. Ah, such great times we are living in. Maybe, we can have CA’s high speed rail connect with Ohio’s. Gruesome Newsom and little mikki can meet where both lines connect, somewhere in the Rocky’s.

Nohio is FAR too east for them to meet at the Rocky Mountains. Nebraska would be closer to halfway.

I didn’t vote for this guy and have been ashamed at how he has run my state since his inauguration. The two halves of Jersey are as different as night and day, Indeed, Felix, he’s a major POS!

Way to go, DeSantis! Is there room for another resident in your sunny state?

There is hope for CA… the recall is gaining traction and near what they need to get rid of that little devil.

He is a great man, indeed. Cuban Americans in Florida shall engage the rest of latino community and educate them how terrible our stalinist establishment is. Immigrants come here to be happy. The ruling class is not about making Americans or immigrants happy.

The proper option is choice -and the audience gets to determine what they receive. I see potential here for an official state-level news outlet – and if big tech tries to block it, condemn and take over communication towers in the state and let big tech use them for their stuff too.

Never trust the mainstreet news or big tech. They are all Communist.

If Trump can’t make the run in 2024, think we’ve found another one….or maybe a Trump-DeSantis ticket.

Hold their feet to the fire. Don’t let them get away with it. To bad he did not say fake news. They would have had a hemorrhage.
