Social activists and opinion leaders from Gulf nations attend event in Jerusalem’s Old City described by Kotel chief rabbi as a ‘Hanukkah miracle’

A delegation from both the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain took part Monday evening in the central menorah lighting at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, in a ceremony described by the site’s chief rabbi as a “Hanukkah miracle.”
The group was made up of social activists and opinion leaders from the Gulf countries, visiting Israel as part of the Sharka Project.
Speaking before lighting the candles for the fifth night of Hanukkah, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, chief rabbi of the Western Wall, welcomed the delegations, marveling at the fact that they were able to celebrate along with Israelis in the Jewish state.
“It is a Hanukah miracle to see the delegation from the UAE and Bahrain here with us participating in the Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony,” he said. “Who would have believed that peace would come to our house in such a magnificent way?”

Earlier Sunday, President Reuven Rivlin hosted the delegation at his residence in Jerusalem.
“Peace is made between peoples and nations,” he told them. “Your visit here is another step in the path of building warm relations between our countries. I wish you a successful visit and I am glad to meet you here in Jerusalem.”
According to a statement from the president’s office, Dr. Majid a-Sarah from the University of Dubai, one of the leaders of the delegation, said in response: “To visit Israel for the first time as part of a delegation is a historic moment. Israel is a prime example of tolerance in the region. This is a new era of peace and stability between peoples.”

I read some church is displaying the nativity scene with face masks on each one and of course there is CA. with them in cages similar to cages Obama put illegals in. It is so sick out there….

Your skepticism is certainly warranted but maybe the world is changing and even (Sunni) arabs are recognizing this. The Gulf States can see the writing on the wall. The demand for fossil fuels is still pretty high but the bottom will fall out over the next 20 years if not sooner. In Israel, they see an opportunity to buy in early into an endless stream of advanced technology without lifting a finger. Arabs don’t create, they invest.
The rational heads in these countries have come to the conclusion that maintaining a boycott of Israel is no longer in their best interests. Palestinians did not get that memo.

My skepticism comes from God. Others can ignore it. Also part of these deals include purchasing weaponry from the U.S..
God doesn’t care about any of what you wrote… sincerely, no offense to you. I always put God’s vision above man’s vision and outcome.
Make no mistake about it, Trump is well intentioned and not some evil monster. He really does want peace there and his thinking maybe if they are all armed, it will keep them in line. India and Pakistan hate each other and both have nuclear weapons so they mostly behave.
People ignore God so what I posted here won’t matter. They will believe whatever they want to believe.
All nations go against Israel God will judge all nations because all nations will have gone against Israel and God l protect Israel in the end – not peace deals by man.
Here are a few verses that come to mind –
Joel 3:2 – “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”
Zechariah 14:2 – “For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, …”
There is reference to it in the New Testament too!
Peace peace and there is no (real) peace…1 Thessalonians 5:3
What Trump did here is amazing but it will not last.

God doesn’t lie and to suggest that is unwise.
Why blame God for how they spend their free will?
Did you miss how the U.S. was blessed after the U.S. intervened and saved Europe from Hitler? If the U.S. didn’t end it, all of Europe would be speaking German as well as the U.K..
U.S. roots are Judeo Christian and we lived up to them at the time. We had our ups and downs but managed to get back on track again for the most part.
He is testing people just as He did then.
We never did find out WHO, AMOUNTS, WHEN or WHAT the offense was for the taxpayer funded SEX FUND payoffs to other swamp “victims.” The issue just faded away. That isn’t God’s fault either. I can’t blame God for that…
Maybe it is time to STOP blaming GOD for what we are doing to ourselves! The Holocaust was unspeakable EVIL yet people went along with it. Today we have unspeakable evil going on to in a different way and it’s not God’s fault, what we are freely doing. I don’t blame God for that. I just see the pattern and wish we had more people fighting the evil.

U know what would really be Hanukah miracle? If the f’ing muslums would let the Jewish people pray on the Temple Mount they built! The Maccabees never would’ve tolerated the bullsh!te of having a bunch of Jew hating, child molesting, fascist vermin occupy the Temple Mount — something no muslum state anywhere has publicly opposed because of the supremacist, antisemitic dictates of their vile creed.

Russia made an interesting statement. “Normalization between Israel and the Arab states does not mean a resolution to the Palestinian issue must become a second priority,” Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a meeting with his United Arab Emirates counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan in Russia on Monday (12/14/20) . Russia is still demanding a separate Palestinian state.
