Kenyan planned 9/11-style attack in U.S. after training as pilot, report

Federal prosecutors have charged a Kenyan man with plotting a Sept. 11-style attack on a building in an U.S. city, according to news report Wednesday.
The charges were included in newly unsealed federal indictment in Manhattan, on which The New York Times reported.
The man, Cholo Abdi Abdullah, was described in the indictment as an operative for the Shabab – the Somali terrorist group considered one of Al Qaeda’s largest and most active global affiliate.
Under the direction of a senior Shabab commander who planned a deadly 2019 attack on a hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, Abdullah took such steps as trying to get pilot training and test flaws in airport security to prepare for hijacking a civil aircraft for a terrorist attack on behalf of the terror group, according to the indictment.
Abdullah began the process of enrolling in a flight school in the Philippines in 2016. He received training and completed the tests to earn his pilot’s license, The Times also reports.

Congress took up that suggestion with the National Emergencies Act of 1976. Though the act was designed to set limits on presidential power to declare national emergencies of indefinite length, it has ended up providing a largely unregulated way for presidents to take unilateral action. Congress has failed to fulfill its responsibilities under the law.
The National Emergencies Act permits the president to declare a national emergency without congressional approval, triggering specific statutory powers that the president can use. For instance, presidents have used this law to impose economic sanctions against terrorists after 9/11 or regulate foreign ships in U.S. waters. Thirty-one emergency declarations are currently in effect under the statute.
Congress can vote at any time to terminate a state of emergency and is required by the statute to meet every six months while an emergency is in effect to consider whether it should continue. However, it has never voted on an emergency declared by a president or held meetings as required by the statute.
Perhaps most importantly for Trump, the National Emergencies Act provides no criteria for deciding whether a national emergency exists. We know from history that presidents can contrive emergencies as a pretext for action.
For example, in 1846 President James Polk falsely claimed that Mexico had spilled American blood on U.S. soil as a pretext for gaining a declaration of war from Congress.
In 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt justified the decision to intern 110,000 Japanese-Americans without trial based on false claims that time was of the essence, and at least some Japanese-Americans were known to be disloyal.

Trump blocked entrance from the countries most active in terrorism and for that he was rated a racist. And yet, after he took the reins away from Barry, Islamist terrorism on US soil stopped. Not one–zero–attack on US soil during his presidency. Should give you something to think about if you’re honest.

The academic leaders of western civilization gave Islam a bath and a fake ID, starting that process a century ago. This liplock with Muslims started about the time all the tyrants of the world realized that the USA (and the entire western hemisphere) had lots of oil (the new fuel that would power the world), and Europe didn’t have any. This process of painting Islam harmless couldn’t happen without control of academia and the press, and considerable political power, on both sides of the Atlantic for the last century. Who has “owned” academia and the press for a century? Central banks and the privileged bloodlines running them. Who gave us a foreign controlled central bank? The Democrat Party. Which political party controls the top of academia? The Democrat Party. The MSM serves which political party? The Democrat Party. Which political party embraces Islam, enriches and enables Islam, and even gives Muslims political power? The Democrat Party. A mirror image of this self inflicted wound can be seen across the pond and across all of western civilization. Islam didn’t invade on both sides of the Atlantic, it was invited by the tyrants who hate free people so much that they embraced Islam to help them get rid of us.

AM, I had a question for you, why during the Korean War was only the 1st Marine Division sent into the fight? What were the other Marine Divisions doing? I know a lot of the divisions in WW2 were deactivated by the time of the Korean War, but wasn’t there a US Marine division in Okinawa? Why didn’t they get sent to Korea since they were so close by? Who determined what military forces were sent to fight in the Korean War? The JCS? The POTUS?
I saw a documentary and read an article on Peleliu. That battle went really bad for the 1st Marine Regiment (Puller’s command). One of the captains in the 1st Regiment despised Puller for the way he ran that battle. 70% casualties! Maybe Chosin was worse.
