Biden victory would mean ‘devastation in the Midwest, our blue-collar workers just getting hammered,’ White House trade adviser says

The U.S. lost 5 million manufacturing jobs between 2000 and 2014, and White House trade adviser Peter Navarro blamed the hemorrhaging numbers on Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s China policy on Sunday.
A Biden victory would mean “devastation in the Midwest, our blue-collar workers just getting hammered,” Navarro told “Sunday Morning Futures.”
“We lost over 70,000 factories, over 5 million manufacturing jobs, and it was because Joe Biden likes made in China,” Navarro said. “Donald Trump came along. … He said, ‘Hey, that’s not good. That’s not right. I’m going to fix that.’ And so what President Trump has been carefully doing is putting in place a wide range of policies, whether it’s lowering the corporate income tax to bring investment on-shore, steel and aluminum tariffs, or buy American.”
The U.S. lost 5 million manufacturing jobs between January 2000 and December 2014 because of “growing trade deficits in manufacturing products prior to the Great Recession and then the massive output collapse during the Great Recession,” according to a 2015 report from the Economic Policy Institute.
China’s state-run tabloid Global Times deemed Biden “smoother to deal with” than President Trump in August.
“Economic security is national security. That’s one of the principles of the Trump Administration and what we learned from this China virus pandemic,” Navarro said. “If we bring those jobs back onshore as we have been doing, we will create great jobs at great wages but also protect the American people from the Chinese communist party.”
Navarro touted Trump’s stance on U.S. manufacturing, but the president has repeatedly taken criticism for manufacturing his branded products in other countries, including China.

To a degree I blame the American public. If we instited on American products we would have American products. We don’t and the damage is done. China passed us up in manufacturing 10 years ago. Trump is trying but he does not get a lot of help. And, I try to by USA but I am also guilty.

We were duped. We trusted politicians. We thought the GOP were the good guys.
They aren’t and no better than DEMS with few exceptions.
We thougt our representatives loved our country like we do. – they don’t.
They love money more. Money through self enrichment is their god.

I remember the alarms that were sounded in the 1980’s about manufacturing jobs especially in the auto sector being shipped out to Japan. It forced Congress to act to protect the auto industry and Japanese manufacturers to start manufacturing in the U.S.. It is shocking that China has been allowed to hollow out sector after sector of 21st century jobs in the hi-tech industry with nary a concern being raised until Trump came along. It proves that most of these law-makers are in the pockets of the Chinese. It is also why they are deflecting global security concerns onto the washed out Russians when it is actually the Chinese who are the greatest threat.

If our MSM had even the slightest shred of integrity, over the last 47+ years, it would have published many stories about Biden`s endless lies, venality (financial corruption), and, more recently, his rapidly developing dementia. He has been a hoax since the day he first took office, but, we shouldn`t care, as, after all, everybody likes him because he`s a nice guy!
