The world’s largest cargo plane landed in Ben Gurion Airport, carrying U.S. military ‘Osh Kosh’ trucks that were fitted with Iron Dome missile defense system batteries purchased by the U.S. Army before leaving Israel, the Defense Ministry announced on Monday.

In August 2019, The ministry had signed a $373 million deal with the U.S. Defense Department to sell two off-the-shelf Iron Dome batteries to the American Army from Rafael which include 12 launchers, two sensors, two battlement management centers, and 240 interceptors.

The system, developed by the ministry and prime contractor Rafael “will be used to defend U.S. military troops against a wide range of ballistic and aerial threats,” a Defense Ministry statement said.
The unloading of the Russian-made Antonov cargo plane was closed to the press.
This is the mammoth aircraft’s second trip to Israel after it touched ground on the Holy Land in 2008.
The Antonov An-225 Mriya was created in the 1980s in Soviet Ukraine and is the heaviest aircraft ever built.

The AN-225 has over 30 wheels, six engines and a wingspan of 290ft. The aircraft has a range of 15,400 km when unloaded and 4,500 when fully loaded.

Good news, this adds MORE pressure on Iran. Last night, a US Iraq base was targeted by rockets from Iran-backed militia. They missed, but this is a common occurrence. The C-RAM radar-guided automatic machine gun takes care of the little stuff, and Iron Dome takes care of the bigger stuff. Preventing Iran from injuring US troops makes the struggle more lopsided in the US’s favor.

Like in Iraq and used for anti-mortar defenses…the moronic parasites were always lobbing in mortars or rockets and artillery.

I’m glad to hear that C-Ram worked well. It gets frequent upgrades.

What about low trajectory smaller mortar rounds? Like 81mm? How much time does this device have to respond to a mortar round or mortar rounds if fired in a TOT type scenario? I’ll bet it’s not 100% effective either.

I heard it firing many nights and didn’t hear of a round getting through while I was there. They were quick as anything. There are videos on line or where on how it operated. If not 100% they were damn close to it and they were in high demand.

What if some of the mortar rounds were airbursts of chaff?

Correction: Antonov cargo plane is not Russian made plane. It is Ukrainian made plane that clearly displays Ukrainian flag. Russians make planes for bombing US troops. Protecting them is not Russian thing.
It is good to see how three democracies USA, Israel and Ukraine share technology to defeat the troglodytes.

Yes of course you are right. The news report may have confused “Soviet Aircraft” with Russian aircraft”. Of course, the Antonov planes were “Soviet aircraft” before 1991. And now they are “Ukrainian aircraft”. And I’m glad to see that Antonov is sill making planes.

A question that SCREAMS for an answer: WHY do we have any of our troops stationed “abroad” (in countries in which they have no business being).
The ony legitimate use of the armed forces of a country is to defend the country from invasion by a foreign power.
Period!
And our troops can’t defend our country if their being deployed in and defending, at great expense, foreign countries that hate us.
Photo below shows two female American soldiers in a Muslim country – out of uniform – as they are wearing the hijab; they are proudly demonstrating an idiotic degree of political correctness and shamelessly presurrendered, while showing that they well deserve no disrespect at all from the Muslims around them.comment image

“Better over there then waiting for them here when “they” clearly mean to kill us all- while already doing so to Allies there”
