Defund the universities. Why should taxpayers fund this hatred, bigotry, and totalitarianism?
For years, the right elite ignored the suppression of speech on college campuses and in the public square. My colleagues and I were systematically silenced while the right elite thought it mattered little because, well, it was us.
Did they really believe it would end with us? It began with us. If the right took a stand at first, we would not be here.

Wisconsin Lutheran College Cancels Speech by Vice President Mike Pence

We’ve reached a point where half of America is not welcome on college campuses. Taxpayers should not be expected to make something ‘free’ when half of them aren’t welcome.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports:
Wisconsin Lutheran College won’t host Mike Pence for commencement, citing Kenosha unrest
Wisconsin Lutheran College said Vice President Mike Pence won’t serve as the school’s commencement speaker Thursday after “careful consideration of the escalating events in Kenosha.”
The college, which is in Milwaukee, said it has chosen Rev. Mark Jeske of St. Marcus Lutheran Church as a substitute speaker for Saturday’s event. The commencement is not on campus; it’s at Franklin Field in Franklin.
The college said the change was a joint decision.
“Vice President Pence understands and supports Wisconsin Lutheran College’s decision to prioritize the safety and well-being of their students, and wishes the students well as they celebrate the accomplishment of graduating from college and as they embark on their next journey,” said Devin M. O’Malley, Pence’s spokesman.
Pence’s appearance had already caused some controversy.
When the college announced it last week, it said the selection was not an endorsement of a political party and “cannot” be viewed as a political event.
“We believe it is possible within our context to leave partisan politics at the door and to celebrate America, our freedoms, Christian servant leadership and our graduates’ immense accomplishments,” the statement said.

WE should NEVER pay commies to promote communism. And that is what we are doing in the education system. These people get paid good money, and then they spend their work time promoting stupid obsolete tyrant ideas. If commies want to do that, they have to promote it on their own dime. Conservatives always do that.

Yes, and what is Harvard doing with ‘Asian quotas’? And what about medical school ‘Jewish Quotas’ in most liberal universities until the 1970s? And what about ‘men only’ areas of those same liberal universities? Every time Pamela Geller shows up there, there’s a riot.

Exactly, American citizen Asians should have access to education that their tax dollars paid for. Do we want dumb scholars just to avoid Asian-Americans? Screening out Jews from Med schools just dumbed-down the doctor population. Jews seek professional educations so they will survive the next pogrom. The doctors will get dragged out last, because everyone needs doctors. This tendency to seek a profession dates back to the Diaspora.

If Harvard had been admitting Asians and other smart students based on merit we would have a lot more engineers and medical students instead of Gender Studies and other garbage.

Asians study hard. Give up much so they reach their educational goals. It’s expected of them by their family. So what do the Universities do to “equalize” the playing field with their ‘pet minorities’ whom they’ve given programs to for 70 years? They put up barriers like quotas for Asians. Why not just pt up signs, be honest Ivy League Schools; Asians not wanted here or to many of you! This is what you really mean. What you did to us, Jews past and present is no different than what the NAzis did except you sweet talked it.

Exactly. As soon as we abandon “created equal” the logic becomes impossible. There are no ‘fair’ levels of inequality, because people don’t agree about what ‘fair inequality’ is. I think it’s unfair to suppress Asian Americans, and Harvard thinks it is fair. And so we will fight forever. It’s better to stick with “created equal”, because that logic works.
Meanwhile, Black economist Thomas Sowell’s 2003 study found that affirmative action has never worked.
And if the rest of us can’t keep up, we need to study harder. We have good brains. China has never been free, and has always been poor. Even now, people in China live on very small incomes compared to the USA. So no wonder America has always been “The Gold Mountain”, and Asian immigrants work their heads off to make the most of what they get in the USA.

The hell with defunding the police, defund the overtly autocratic Leftist colleges and universities. The latter is no more than brainwashing laboratories to rewire students’ minds into mindless Bolshevists. Lutheran College is a prime example of the totalitarian diktat within the majority of colleges, Marxism. Students no longer have the options of intellectual integrity or integrity of any kind. The canceling of the Vice-President’s speech confirms that the Leftist/Marxist persuasion politicizes and censors all that does not befit their radicalized, Marxist curriculum.
It is not time to defund law enforcement, but these petri-dish institutions that dare call themselves educators. They are not the latter; indeed, they are programming, indoctrinating young minds into hate, fear-mongering culture, encouraging antipathy, and hostility for this Constitutional Republic. Moreover, the loathing of all who dare renounce Marxism or any form of autocratic governance. These so-called students are not students but lab-rats controlled by maleficent, oppressive handlers of the extremist-Left. Educators are no longer educators but Marxist operatives, under the mandate of the faux-Democrats, George Soros, and multifarious others. If not defunded, this wild-eyed Leftist-extremism will continue to breed like roaches.
The nation is on the precipice of ruination because the apostate Democrats and others sustain these traitors within the hallowed-halls of treason, so-called colleges/universities. It is time to cut the wild-eyed Lefts’ gravy train.

Mike Pence should explain that a good Liberal Arts Education 75 yrs ago was based on an ability to learn the rudiments of logic, debate and reason. How to learn what a debate and argument consists of and what it isn’t…. what is false argumentation and what is supportable. this set of skills was fundamental to the degrees of a ‘Liberal Arts degree’. It is no longer taught, nor even allowed. It taught how to think, how to support assertions and build arguments and positions and speak and write cogently of them. Now- it is only what to think; and as here- or else.
