RNC 2020 opening night ratings on C-SPAN blow away DNC viewership

By New York Post, August 25, 2020

The opening night of the 2020 Republican National Convention blew last week’s Democratic snoozefest out of the water, drawing in six times more viewers on C-SPAN’s livestream.

Approximately 440,000 people tuned in to watch the first night of the virtual GOP convention on Monday, compared to just 76,000 views for the first night of the DNC, according to a Hill report.

While the Democratic gathering boasted speeches from big names such as former first lady Michelle Obama, who gave a rousing endorsement of Joe Biden and drew the ire of President Trump, far more people tuned in to see Donald Trump Jr.Nikki Haley and the gun-wielding McCloskeys bash Biden.

The more traditional TV ratings from Nielsen won’t be out until Tuesday afternoon.

Last week’s 2020 Democratic National Convention tanked in the Nielsen ratings compared to the 2016 opening festivities where Hillary Clinton was crowned the nation’s first female presidential nominee.

Viewership was down as much as 42 percent on the broadcast networks CBS, NBC and ABC.

Most of the networks, including Fox, ABC and CNN, still averaged 18.68 million viewers, but that was a 28 percent plunge from the opening night of the 2016 DNC.

One of the most viral highlights from Monday’s RNC kickoff was an impassioned broadside from Don Jr.’s girlfriend, Trump campaign adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle, which immediately blew up on social media.

Democrats are so dumb. They actually believe that WE, THE PEOPLE can’t find alternative viewing options.

More like cherry-picking numbers. Comparing one news outlet in one situation and ignoring the fact that the DNC night one convention actually had MORE accumulated viewers than Trump’s first night.

I DOUBT IT. Did ya count the SILENT MAJORITY, who watched from OANN? Probably not. We gave up cable 3 years ago so we watched from OANN via Roku. So did so many other people. DIDN’T COUNT THEM EITHER, RIGHT? Of course not.

You liberals are gonna get your butt kicked BIG TIME in November. BIG time. HAVE A BLESSED DAY.

Article claiming that the RNC had a very low viewership, only about 17 million people across the board, did better on Fox then the other channels, sucked on all the others, showed a comparison chart (included) with the number in millions that watched both Democrat and Republican. Now, that being said, they are claiming in the article that only 17 million watched, and the DNC did much better, but I guess they figure that we can’t add, as I went through this and did a quick addition, just the millions, and came up with an easy 32 million plus, probably over 33 million if you add the .whatever as well, unless I’m missing something, but I really can’t see how. comment image

We watched on CSpan – and made a POINT not to support any of the ‘Main Stream News’ – I cannot stomach any of those networks…and I know MANY of ‘the silent majority’ feel the same…I will continue to pray everyday for this country and our President…and pray that the Lord shines thru in November. I don’t recall any President to support the name of Jesus so openly – and also be so PRO Life – so many have been ‘afraid’ to be ‘Pro life’ – it’s refreshing to hear all the people at the RNC so openly support – makes my heart happy…there were many people who brought me to tears – moving and emotional but lovely. I LOVE this COUNTRY! and it’s so refreshing to know how many other people do as well – it’s been so condemned since Obama was in office to ‘LOVE” this country! I couldn’t understand what was happening – I know that any where else in the world…I would most likely not be alive – let alone have the life I have and I try to remember to thank the Lord on a daily basis for the wonderful life I am able to live. Trump 2020 – Jesus Forever…

I have not watched anything on MSM or cable in forever, now have internet only, and watch stuff on free streaming sites I have found, can pretty much watch what I want, and get most of my news through my email selectively and via GAB and MeWe.

Did recently get an antenna for the TV though that is supposed to help me get channels without the cable from a friend, and we hooked it up, and it said it found 60 channels, but won’t log them, so can’t use it, need to get the contact number for the TV/Remote to find out what the issue is, just have not done it yet, but it works on my friends TV. Pretty new Flatscreen, not a smart TV, won’t get one of those, got a stupid TV, HDMI cable so I could hook up the laptop.

Fingers crossed for Trump, gonna get ugly no matter who wins though it looks like.

Don’t forget folks. Some of us out here DO NOT HAVE CABLE/SATELLITE TV. We watched from YouTube or OANN, which carried the RNC virtual show. Count those as well and you will TRIPLE that number.

Well, Democrats. You just have the worst luck, don’t ya? ;-)))))
