Retired NYPD sergeant attacked in Garment District beatdown caught on video

A retired NYPD sergeant was punched and kicked as he lay helplessly on the ground in a brutal Manhattan beatdown caught on security footage, police sources told The Post.
The former cop can be seen speaking with his assailant for at least a minute last Tuesday morning as they stand outside a Garment District deli on West 39th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenue, according to disturbing footage obtained by The Post.
The suspect, whom police sources have identified as Masterjadin Roman, 20, then allegedly throws a bottle at the retired officer.
The man charges at Roman, who manages to wrestle the NYPD veteran to the ground and land more than a dozen punches to his head.
Eventually Roman relents. He and his pal appear to swipe the former cop’s cellphone and headphones — only for Roman to return to kick the former sergeant in the head as he kneels on the ground trying to regain his composure.
It was not immediately clear what sparked the violence.
Roman, of Canarsie, has been accused of aggressive panhandling and was slapped with a desk appearance ticket, police sources said.

He wishes. Try that with Fire Island, moron. Be prepared to swim the bay back to the Hamptons.
I thought nyc required all LEO retired and active to carry? The guy should have taken time to send those parasitic feral animal yard ape criminals to the morgue!!!!!!
Yeah i was thinking the same thing why he was’nt CCW
“slapped with a desk appearance ticket”
Uh, hey New York, THIS IS BLATANTLY ASSAULT AND BATTERY!
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALL YOU PEOPLE IN NYC?
Are you just going to allow these thugs to do this?
NYC: will end up being a ghost town if this keeps up!
What, no tax revenue coming in De Blasio because everyone is leaving?
NYC POLICE: PLEASE GO ON STRIKE BECAUSE OF THIS!

Is the problem w/gullible moronic goons acting on suggestion.
NYPD should refuse to protect De Blasio and should remove their protection teams from Gracie mansion and City hall.
‘No Go’ zones here in America.
Better go with back-up. Two or more people.
Or MY two Best “Friends”, Smith and Wesson !!!
Yep. And a witness to record the thugs’ instigation.
The original point and click.
“Aggressive Panhandling”, my eye…more like ROBBERY and AGGRAVATED BATTERY.
I’d say Mr. Roman should be found having “hanged himself” in his cell, having left a suicide note, saying “Life is BS, I can’t freakin’ take it no more, signed, ‘The Dead Guy’ “. And the investigation shouldn’t be all THAT thorough…
Striking and robbing an ex-cop, and giving him a gratuitous kick to the head…what a POS. This, Governor “Fredo”, and Mayor “DeBlowhard”, is WHY the highly-unconstitutional Sullivan Act of 1911 should be repealed, and NYers free to ARM themselves against these THUGS.
Absolutely RIGHT !!!
Masterjadin Roman, 20
Lives in Canarsie
How hard for Ms. Karma to locate him?
And “Karma’s” a REAL Wicked Bitch , ain’t she ?!!!
Get rid of de Blasio and Cuomo. Start first med de Blasio.
You got it. if you have to walk in NYC, carry a weapon. Any weapon.
A screw driver and a rock in a sock will do it for defence….!
Sounds really good. What did Paul Kersey use in the first Death Wish? A roll of quarters in a sock? Then he grew a pair and started shooting the bastards down.
And DON’T be afraid to USE that weapon when Needed !!!
DO NOT GO TO NEW YORK ,,,,CITY OR STATE!!!
Where are all these ‘gun crazy Americans’ when you need them ? One would think that as every American is armed to the teeth these bad guys would be dropping like flies from the barrage of bullets being fired at them from all those AR 15’s with multi-round mags. Little old grandmothers would be emptying their concealed 45’s into the stinking, unwashed bodies of these perps. Unless the media is covering up all these heroic self-defense killings of the street slime, there must be a huge gap in our understanding of these vicious and dangerous American citizens who are ruthlessly slaughtering all these bad guys in the streets. Where are they when you need them ??
(And why was this ex-cop not carrying)?
Rev. Roy…….<><
They are cowards, they have guns to protect themselves, maybe, but no one else!
Why did the coward waving a gun around not use it!
I hope the retired LEO makes full recovery from his injuries and I hope his attacker faces some stiff justice for his crime.
Hopefully to the Coroner’s office first and then on to the Graveyard !!!
