NY Democrats are moving to lock in one-party rule — maybe forever

79

This is evident in all their perfidy and skulduggery. This has all the hallmarks of a tinpot dictatorship.

And while this is New York State, rest assured the totalitarian party will like nothing more than to roll this plan out nationally.

NY Democrats are moving to lock in one-party rule — maybe forever

By New York Post Editorial Board, August 7, 2020 |

Story continues below advertisement

Democratic lawmakers in Albany are never satisfied: Their party already has a firm lock on the key levers of power, yet last week they moved to solidify that power even more — via an amendment to the state Constitution.

And because they control both houses of the Legislature, the measure sailed through easily, with barely any public input.

The amendment deals with the redistricting process — how new maps, based on the Census, must be drawn and approved. And the changes essentially favor Dems and tie Republican hands, so Democrats will be free to draw lines to their advantage.

Under the plan, minority parties would lose their ability to block partisan district lines. The number of Senate districts would be locked at 63 (the current number) to preserve the Dems’ edge and head off any new GOP-leaning districts. It also requires that residents, regardless of immigration status, be counted — a clear bid to create yet more Dem-leaning districts.

“The will of the people and public interest are far less important to New York Democrats than their own self-preservation,” howls Assemblyman Will Barclay. They’re “obsessed with extending their misguided, one-party rule that drives up taxes, drives up crime and drives New Yorkers away.”

The amendment needs to be passed again next year when a “new” Legislature meets, before going to voters in November 2021.

If it’s OK’d, Republicans could be out of power for a long time after the next redistricting. And bet on Dems to keep using their power to preserve it even more.

The likely bottom line: Say good-bye to democracy and hello to dysfunctional one-party rule in New York. Perhaps for good.

Trump could issue an Executive Order that the NY state changes are unconstitutional, and therefore, all interactions between feds and NY state will be ignored by the feds. That would gridlock all interactions between feds and NY state, including funds transfers. NY could challenge that at SCOTUS, but Trump could counter-challenge that the NY state redistricting violates the US Constitution about free and fair elections.

The GOP doesn’t see a problem with universal mail in voter ballots –

Senate Majority Whip John Thune Positions to Support National Mail-In Ballots…
Posted on August 7, 2020 by sundance

Current Senate Leader Mitch McConnell has a leadership group who carry out the institutional objectives of the upper chamber as a body, they include: Senator John Thune (whip); Senator John Barrasso (conference chair); Roy Blunt (committee chair); Todd Young (NRSC chair); Jodi Ernst (conference vice-chair); and Chuck Grassley (president pro tempore). None of these senators make a move publicly without approval from Leader McConnell.

Today Senate Whip John Thune rebuked the mail-in ballot concerns expressed by President Trump. Thune does this because ultimately the objectives of the upper chamber are more favorably aligned if President Trump is removed.

WASHINGTON DC – […] Asked if he agreed with the president’s repeated charges that mailed-in balloting will lead to a “rigged election” and “massive voter fraud,” the Senate majority whip told reporters, “I don’t.”

Did you catch that – NO I DON’T!

“Mailed-in voting has been used in a lot of places for a long time and, honestly, we’ve got a lot of folks that, as you know, they’re investing heavily in trying … to win that war. It’s always a war too for mail-in ballots. Both sides compete, and it’s always an area where I think our side, at least in my experience, has done pretty well,” Thune answered, adding: “I think we want to assure people it’s going to work, it’s secure and if they vote that way it’s going to count.” (read more) https://www.foxnews.com/politics/republicans-warn-mail-in-voting-rhetoric-backfire-trump

(The GOP never does well with MAIL IN VOTER BALLOTS and he knows that. With numerous examples of outright FRAUD with the primary alone, it’s clear – they want TRUMP OUT! It’s going to be up to us, to keep Trump IN.)

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/08/07/senate-majority-whip-john-thune-positions-to-support-national-mail-in-ballots/#more-197637

With a handful of exceptions,
BOTH PARTIES WANT TRUMP OUT!

It appears that way.

No Trump can NOT forbid the Post Office from handling mail in ballots. It is their job to process mail. I have to hand it to you. That is the dumbest suggestion I have ever heard! Can you even begin to imagine how that would work out? Piles of ballots all over, uncollected because you don’t think they should handle the mail? You do know that the U.S.P.S is one of our largest employers! There are 600,000 of U.S. postal employees nationwide and you don’t want them to handle ballots? Do you think volunteers, untrained would get the job faster if you could find that many? I think you might be having an off day….at least that is what I am going to consider such an asinine suggestion! It’s okay to be frustrated but let’s not make a situation worse and go off the rails like that!

Trump has limits on what he can E.O.. Even Obama knew that when he DID NOT EO DACA and DAPA. You thought that was an E.O. too. It wasn’t. It was just a policy edict that no one objected to – not even the GOP challenged it and they had every right to do so! Even Lying Ted was quiet….he knows better….

Isn’t it time to stop blaming Trump and getting a grip on what can be EOed and what can’t be EOed? Why do you want to dump on Trump? He is doing what he can with little to no support!

I actually feel sorry for him. You can count the people who support him on one hand in the swamp. Without GOP support he is boxed in. Don’t you understand that? The GOP wants him out too! Whether he wins or loses this coming election, his life is forever changed.

If you think they will leave Trump alone, if he loses, you are dead wrong. They will harass him to death legally and otherwise till he is six feet under. Trump knows that too and still willing to give us another four years. That’s how liberals are. Liberals and RINOS are tenacious and don’t give up.

I don’t know of anyone that could have withstood the crap Trump has been through. Any Republican candidate he ran against in 2016, would have caved a long time ago and would not have gotten done what Trump has managed to get done. He’s old school and determined.

Be grateful for whatever he can get done but don’t add another impeachment fiasco to the list before the election. The GOP is already denying there is vote fraud! Geesh!

I guess the easier way to put it, is STATES determine WHO and HOW a vote is cast in their state. It’s not up to the FEDERAL government to determine that. All Trump can do is have A.G Barr file suit on the states taking the mail in ballot voting route. I am hoping something can be done since it is a FEDERAL election and there is some way to have a say in HOW the vote is cast.

Yes but SCOTUS can determine the definition of “free and fair”. And deliberate and unfair redistricting is not fair [I think].

Felix, I may agree in part, but the President, as we know, is the Big Enchilada. He is the one whose task is to lead, direct, Barr, and others. If he has to kick a** to get results, then he must do so. Indeed, Trump has much on his presidential plate but is still numero uno. I have no doubt
Barr, too, is up to his a** in alligators, but that’s politics on all accounts. Trump is the leader, maestro, and must orchestrate and keep everyone on-key.

The problem is, states have rights. A state can determine WHO votes and HOW they vote. Iowa just caved to allowing felons to vote. All Trump can do is have Barr file suit papers on the state. Barr can hire more people. It;s not up to Trump to do that. Trump is allot busier than Barr. Barr as A.G. has no excuse for not hiring more people!

Barr does his own thing. Who would have believed that Barr wasn’t having Durham take a look at Biden with this Ukraine and China stuff?
The truth is Barr is doing the least amount possible an protecting his friends like Mueller…. They all know each other. I was hoping for something different with his “lawyers lawyers” reputation. If Trump prods him, Barr has a hissy fit and it doesn’t look good….

Trump does what he can. When Trump left for Maine to talk to the fishermen up there about their issues, I have no doubt that he didn’t intend for the National Guard that went into D.C. to go there unarmed. Yet, I think it was Chad Wolf, who over ruled him and sent them in unarmed. There was another incident recently, Esper did something, I forget what and we even have our own military, specifically the Navy, disregarding Trump’s okay to go to church. They smell blood…

It’s an odd position to be in. Do you constantly call attention to people under you ignoring your instructions and need a united front. Infighting makes you look weak as a President running for a second term. He’s only able to get establishment type people confirmed for these positions or they will remain empty. Some positions can’t be empty. I think he could do better with some on these people in “acting” positions. I also think he gets bad advice from allot of people… Trump is not the kind that micro manages people and it is not the role of president to do that. Trump has bigger issues to deal with. I just have to trust that Trump has his priorities right. I don’t believe he wants to throw or lose the election. Trump knows better than anyone how evil the swamp is. If he pisses off his own party, he will get zero support so he has to handle things carefully, imo.

Where was A.G. Barr on this?

He stated the Constution was not suspended? Did Barr forget about First Amendment rights or is that only for violent protesters?

A few on Congress complained and that changed.
Prior to that it was determined to not be essential and not allowed.

Excellent, Felix, I do agree, the president’s hands are tied, if not chained. I agree, too, the states have different voting protocols; it drives me insane, well, I’m already certified. I do confess you are bang-on about Barr but Trump hired him. I’m not blaming Trump,
wholly, as much as the perfidy exists within the Republican Party or suspected moles.

Many issues that would aid Trump in the coming election seemingly are dismissed or tossed into the recycling bin. Trust me, I am 100% behind Trump. It is not to say frustration doesn’t mount when the wheels of justice grind to a halt. Nor do I blame Trump for the latter. His presidency is like no other, nor should he face such discord from layers of anti-Trump dissenters. The Democrats are a threat to the Republic; apparently, many within Trump’s circle do not grasp it or care to grasp it.

Well the states must conform to the US Constitution. And in cases of conflict, the Constitution takes precedence. SCOTUS must decide if these are ‘free and fair’ elections. And of course you realize that this is moot. I won’t be the one who decides this, either way it goes.

That is the goal in all our states. As we import more third world people, refugees and allow illegal aliens and anchor babies to come and stay, it’s a given this will happen. The majority of these people will vote for Democrats. Look where they came from. Look at their culture. When a liberal state is unbearable, they move and destroy another state. The push and vote for the same failed ideology again. Most also refuse to debate it.

Pope Frances pushes godless Marxism so there goes the Catholic vote. Liberal Jews love it! Muslims love it! Many Protestant churches not wanting to feel left out, push “social justice” and humanism. Atheists may not want it but they push their own failed reasoning as their replacement for our Judeo Christian founding of laws and culture. Atheists aren’t any better than liberals who play god. Our schools teach Marxism (K-12 and higher education). If you disagree with this, social media, who you work for etc. will fire you or censor you. You will be black listed. There is not nearly enough push back against it and you are censored out for speaking out against Marxism.

This is what they want as they totally destroy our values, culture, beliefs and erase the Judeo Christian God from public. They want to totally destroy what is in place and totally replace it. Eventually people will have to rise up against it in the near future or submit to it.

honestly it depends on your personal situation, if i was retired and could go anywhere. probably a purple state so that i could help flip it republican. but it would also for me need to be a place with good weather and scenery, but since ur into staying near ur family i would maybe move to a state with less tax but still in driving distance, but i wouldnt own property in NY. i talked this situation over with my wife and we would maybe own property in a state with low property taxes and get a nice RV with small pull behind car, be able to see the country side in our spare time… but bottom line is if you live in NY city your getting the shaft. heavy taxes, property losing value, higher violent crimes, gun laws that are unconstitutional so you cant even defend urself. yeah i wouldnt have none of that

They already established permanent one-party rule by Democrats in California, formerly the most conservative state (gave us Ronald Reagan, etc.) It was all done by leftist judge shopping, to overturn the results of elections. So it wasn’t the voters who were responsible.

The Democrats plan to take over the whole country using similar methods, and establish permanent one-party Democrat rule.

Each state they take over is like a beachhead, giving them a lock on a large number of electoral votes, meaning Republicans start the race with a huge handicap.

As a former lifelong New Yorker, this handwriting was on the wall in the mid eighties when I pulled out. I have never gone back there to live, only to work. I don’t even work there any longer, my wife banned that two years back. She hasn’t been back to New York since 1991. She grew up in Water Mill, Long Island.
This is what the democrats want, yet all the wealthy are leaving, all the middle class are leaving, and the lower class is finding it’s way to New Jersey.
The reason we left: The taxes and the Democrats taking our money.
The State of New York is one step from bankruptcy and President Trump said the same thing to Cuomo that he said to Newsom: “The people of the United States will not bail you out. You have to grow up.”
Sen. Rick Scott: “It’s irresponsible and reckless to take money from American taxpayers and use it to save liberal politicians like Cuomo from the consequences of their poor choices,” he added. “Floridians shouldn’t have to backfill New York’s state budget and pension fund.”

I never lived there but I did visit NYC many times while living in DC. My first time up that way was culture shock … everything was so much more expensive and folks were even more unfriendly than they were in DC. I wasn’t even used to the coldness of folks in DC yet, being from the Deep South of lower Alabama.

Down here the slightest eye contact warrants a hat tip, a hand wave, or “how are you doing” while passing by or standing in line at a store. The first time making eye contact and asking how the person was doing while standing in line at a Safeway grocery store in Alexandria, VA was an eye opening experience. They got upset and offended that I spoke to them.

Brooklyn College Education Prof. Claims Math Is ‘White Supremacist Patriarchy”
By TOM CICCOTTA
9 Aug 2020

Brooklyn College Professor of Math Education Laurie Rubel argued this week on Twitter that the mathematical equation 2+2=4 “reeks of white supremacist patriarchy.” Rubel’s tweet was retweeted and promoted by several academics at universities and colleges around the nation.

“The idea that math (or data) is culturally neutral or in any way objective is a MYTH. I’m ready to move on with that understanding. Who’s coming with me?” Rubel wrote in a tweet.

“Along with the ‘of course math is neutral because 2+2=4’ trope and the related (and creepy) ‘math is pure’ and ‘protect math.’ Reeks of white supremacist patriarchy,” Rubel added. “I’d rather think on nurturing people & protecting the planet (with math in service of them goals).”

Harvard Ph.D. candidate Kareem Carr suggested that math should be reevaluated because it was primarily developed by white men. He argues 2+2=5!

“People say it’s subjectivism to ask if math is Western. I don’t get that. It’s an objective fact that some groups were more involved in the creation of modern math than others,” Carr said. “They may have been *trying* to make it objective but it’s not stupid to ask if they actually succeeded!”

Laurie Rubel looks like a butch lesbo to me. Don’t let the feminine top fool you… she hates males.

Here Rubel is again with her black rimmed “intelligent” glasses on.

Let’s meet Kareem Carr!
See a pattern here – losers are what they are accepting at what used to be Ivy League Universities!
He sure didn’t get in based on MERIT! Isn’t diversity grand? No wonder MERIT scares the hell out of them.

In time NYC will impose an exit tax to leave the city. Get out now. The Left knows people will leave; that won’t stop the Left. Did it stop Maduro or Castro?

On a positive note. Russia has returned to Christianity as has Eastern Europe. Conservatives have larger families, kids tend to follow their parents. Home school, don’t pay for kids to go to college to study ill-liberal arts. Conservatives marry younger, start families, leftists have abortions and avoid marriage. Stop supporting your destroyers. The demographics are shifting against the totalitarians and strongly so.

I am a native Californian. A large majority of Cal in area is deep red. I’m here because I own a gold mine. The county has had only 3 cases of Wu Flu.

I’ve observed that right wing Jews crowd into Jewish areas and have a strong aversion to living around Christians. They prefer to live around socialist Jews who have long played a leading role in wrecking the nation’s culture and abolishing liberty. Even Pamela does this. Heaven forbid a right wing Jew live in Eagle, Idaho in freedom but have Mormon, Baptist and Evangelical neighbors.

Ya ‘all might try watching Prof. Steve Turley on youtube. He’ll give you a positive outlook.

As a former merc I don’t fear the coming violence. Bring it on, baby.

Eventually they will consume your location. Like locusts, when there is nothing left to destroy or loot, they move on. They are like a cancer that metastasizes. That is guaranteed. Enjoy your utopia while you can! When they come, get a few for us.

You are right… allot of Jews don’t like Christians and only tolerate us for useful reasons…. It doesn’t phase me one way or the other.

New York and California look like they will be seceding if the President wins again. If you’re a Republican, and if you aren’t willing to fight if there is a war there, you need to get out now. They will come for you.

Not just that. Oregon, Washington state and California are talking about leaving the union if Trump should win. That’s how crazy they are. I wouldn’t so much mind if we could make them build a WALL and keep their crap contained in their state and out of the rest of the U.S..

I’m sure Virginia will want to join them. Maybe New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Lord knows who else. I’ve been saying it for a few months. The Governors of California, Oregon and Washington already talk like their states are not part of this country anymore. Yes, they should build a wall or demilitarized zone to keep their crap in and not let it leave.

They always over reach, the only way that they will be able to save themselves is to be bailed out by the Federal government. They are driving away their tax base and at the same time don’t even try to control spending. Reality always wins, it sometimes take a long time to catch up though. California is the same way. As far as seceding goes it’s the same problem, Socialism only works until the money runs out.
