Minneapolis government offers ‘robbery prevention tips’ after crime surges and criminals will love them
The Minneapolis City Council voted unanimously last month to disband the police department, and Minneapolis Police Department offered resident tips that just may ensure the success of such a radical proposal.
In effect, police are encouraging residents to surrender to criminals as part of their “robbery prevention tips” — turn over your valuables and no matter what, don’t resist.

The advice comes after a 99-year-old woman fought off an intruder at her home in South Minneapolis, according to ABC 5.
“Be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse/wallet,” one tip read.
Another tip read: “Do not argue or fight with the criminal. Do as they say. Your safety is most important!”
Here are all the robbery prevention tips offered, according to KSTP:
• Do not walk alone
• Be hyper-aware of your surroundings at all times – pay attention!
• Carry only items you need, and carry less cash
• Be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse/wallet
• Have keys already in your hand as you approach your car
• Despite all our efforts, robberies may still occur! Do not argue or fight with the criminal. Do as they say. Your safety is most important!
• Be a good witness. When you call 911, be prepared to answer many questions. (How many suspects? Age, height, complexion, hair and eye color? Scars or tattoos? Weapon- what did it look like? What direction did they leave in? Vehicle description?)
In the aftermath of the Black Lives Matter riots following the death of local resident George Floyd, police have been under siege all across America.
And crime is surging.
Minneapolis Police Department warned of an increase in crime, saying officers have responded to 100 robberies and 20 carjackings in the 3rd precinct last month, the ABC affiliate reported — this being where Floyd died.
With the increase in carjackings, there was also advice on how to be the “perfect victim,” as characterized in the tweet below:

Just shoot-to-kill and keep your car.
Only thing that p-sses me off. Nohio (special emphasis on the “No”) recognizes the minnysoetah license, via reciprocity. But, minnysoetah doesn’t recognize Nohio’s. Same may be said about Ill Noise.
But, for minny residents … no big deal. One day class, application, license … then shoot to kill.

We have something extra special happening in NJ. Illegals, without our consent, or being voted on, were given permission to have drivers licenses. If that wasn’t enough, now, again, without our consent or being voted on, illegals are given the green light for illegals to get professional licenses to be accountants, hair stylists, pharmacists etc. Anything that requires a professional license, an illegal can now openly go for, become licensed and open a business or be employed.
Never mind unemployment is through the roof for legal citizens or care about the people who lost their jobs or are required to NOT go to work. Just recently a gym owner was nailed for opening his gym when the NJ government deemed his business to not be “essential.”
Illegals aren’t supposed to be here and now they are elevated even more above legal citizens! Illegals already get tax payer subsidized money for lawyers to defend them against deportation and receive college/university scholarships that are also tax payer funded all without being voted for or consented to by the public in NJ. RINO, Chris Christy was so excited about this he attended an illegal scholarship hand out at Rutgers University. I distinctly remember reading about that and being incensed.

You know we have our sanctuary counties and cities so I know what you mean. Our dear State government makes all the illegals decisions and we have no say, only suppose to pay for it/them. I didn’t know about the employment thing but I have been telling everyone that I think they are working for the USPS. Honestly the postal persons must only be able to read if everything is printed. I just got a letter back that I’d sent out with a birthday check in a self stick envelope. Then 20 days later I got it back, the envelope had been opened ((can tell with a self-stick)) but on the back of the check I had printed “For Deposit Only” so it couldn’t be cashed and there were two notifications on the envelope that there was no such address. The house was bought about 20 years ago but all at once it isn’t there! I also mailed in my auto insurance check and it took 7 days to get from Maryland to Georgia!
I would advise “everyone” that sends any checks by mail to print under the signature line on the back: For Deposit Only” so it can’t be cashed by someone else! But give the crooks time and they’ll manage to find a way around that too.
Isn’t it something. If you’re a citizen, like that gym owner, his businesses isn’t essential. So what if he had a wife and four children. To the democrats feeding our families “isn’t essential” but an illegal’s is!!! I just about hate this government. So glad the Lord said we were to obey government UNLESS the government went against the law of God. And that’s all the corrupted dems and the left do.
Since the illegals are viewed like a commodity by the democrats and they couldn’t care about what the federal government says, they shouldn’t get any help from the fed gov. Both of our daughters live in the Des Moines area. And, I still have some land in Iowa County. Therefore, I occasionally make the drive from Northeast Nohio along I-80.
I can drive through Indiana. But, at the Illness-Noise border, I have to put everything into separation and, normally trunk them. Upon crossing the Mississippi, I move everything back to easy reach.
My brother (even an older fart than me) still teaches at the medical school, University of Minnesota at Minneapolis, and I drive up there every three years or so. Same damned thing.
But, I found that if the firearm, fully unloaded, and separated from any ammunition … without the casing and placing in the trunk, I’m legal … So, take a Bond Arms dbl barrel, in .45 ACP. I place it in the console and have two rounds in my shirt pocket. Legal. And, not by my estimation, but consulting with attorneys-at-law.
Have to stay in compliance with the law.

I live on the Illinois border and I’ve read up on the law. If you have a valid permit from another state, you can legally carry in your vehicle. If you get out, it must be locked in the car. Handgunlaw.us has a link to it IIRC. I wouldn’t chance it in Chicago, though.

I don’t know. I checked that site and, just as all other sites, Illness-Noise has no reciprocity with Nohio. I have a few acquaintances that practice law in Illness. I’m only going on what they told me.
From the site, that you linked, it’s illegal to carry anything, other than the standard separated and locked, within a vehicle of any non-illness licensed individual.
Illinois does not honor any other states Permit/License.
Perhaps, you can cut and paste the relevant information from that site. I could not find it.

I think the best answer to the City Council, the Mayor and even the Governor Would be:
“Since you are the leaders, you should set the example. You should be the first to practice what you preach. When we see YOU open YOUR homes and let these ungodly thugs TAKE whatever they want, then we may take your advice into consideration.”
