The Hill: Far-left protesters burned an American flag near the White House on Saturday and chanted, “America was never great” moments after President Trump finished delivering a speech at the “Salute to America” Independence Day celebration.
Video shows the flag being burned in Black Lives Matter Plaza, just outside the White House. Activists can be heard chanting, “One, two, three, four, slavery, genocide and war. Five, six, seven, eight, America was never great.”

We went to Gettysburg late yesterday and stayed for the fireworks. Saw nothing but patriotic Americans.

America was great in 1776 when we showed the world that a free people could govern themselves’
And when we fought a war to free slaves.
And when we fought in WW1 to defeat facism.
And when we fought in WW2 to defeat facism.
And when the Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 despite fierce opposition from Democrats.
And when we faced down Communism in the Cold War.
And despite those who want to destroy us, it’s great RIGHT NOW.
Take a moment and reflect on what the world would look like now if this country, this GREAT country didn’t exist.

It was western civilization’s first suicide attempt.
Fascism as we think of it today was adopted by Mussolini in 1922, four years after WWI.
America’s official entry to the war was in April of 1917 for numerous reasons including Germany’s policy of unrestricted submarine warfare and the Zimmerman telegram.
