LA Times op-ed mocked for calling to replace ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ with ‘Lean on Me’

LA Times op-ed mocked for calling to replace ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ with ‘Lean on Me’
An op-ed from The Los Angeles Times raised eyebrows for calling on “The Star-Spangled Banner” to be canceled as the national anthem.

Contributing writer Jody Rosen began his column by slamming a San Franciso monument of Francis Scott Key, who famously wrote the lyrics to “The Star-Spangled Banner,” as “imposing and fussy.”
After noting that the Key statue had been taken down by rioters, Rosen appeared to offer a justification for the vandalism as he, too, was a slaveowner

“The wave of reckoning and revisionism that is sweeping the country may have to come for the national anthem,” Rosen wrote, pointing to viral claims that “The Star-Spangled Banner” is a “racist song” that stems from Key’s poem “Defence of Fort M’Henry,” which invokes slaves.

Rosen listed several songs that have been floated around to become the next national anthem, including John Lennon’s “Imagine,” James Weldon Johnson’s “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” as well as other iconic American tunes like “God Bless America,” “America the Beautiful,” and “This Land is Your Land.”

“Nope, none of these songs will do,” Rosen argued. “At a moment when the United States is in the grip of multiple crises — convulsed by debates over racism and injustice, ravaged by a pandemic, with a crumbling economy and a faltering democracy — the very idea of a national anthem, a hymn to the glory of country, feels like a crude relic, another monument that may warrant tearing down. But if we must have an anthem, it should be far different than the one we’ve got now, positing another kind of patriotism, an alternative idea of America and Americanness. It would also be neat if it was, you know, a decent song, which a citizen could sing without crashing into an o’er or a thee, or being asked to pole vault across octaves.”

The LA Times writer concluded that such a song should be Bill Withers’ “Lean on Me.”
“It’s a modest song that puts on no airs. It speaks in plain musical language, without a trace of bombast, in a tidy arrangement that unfolds over a few basic chords. It doesn’t march to a martial beat or rise to grand crescendos. The lyrics hold no pastoral images of fruited plains or oceans white with foam, no high-minded invocations of liberty or God. ‘Lean on Me’ is a deeply American song — but it’s not, explicitly at least, a song about America,” Rosen explained. “Yet it has long been a kind of national anthem. ‘Lean on Me’ is one of just a handful of songs to have reached No. 1 on the Billboard pop charts in two different versions… It is surely among the most widely sung American songs of the past half-century.”

Rosen noted all the famous singers who have performed the hit song, like Stevie Wonder, Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Shawn Mendes and Nick Jonas, and how the song was sung at Black Lives Matter protests across the country in recent weeks and was used as a tribute to first responders towards the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak.

“What do all of these singers hear in ‘Lean on Me’? They hear a message of friendship and fellow-feeling so straightforward it may at first appear banal,” Rosen continued. “When you bolster that sentiment, as Withers does, with some handclaps and a funky bassline, the words ring even truer. It’s a message you could build something on, a pretty solid foundation for a decent society. It can bear the load.”
Rosen’s suggestion, however, was widely panned on social media.

Sessions Was Primaried Out Today
Jeff Sessions 74,390 votes = 37%
Tommy Tuberville 125,030 votes = 63%
With 42% reporting this morning, Tuberville leads by 25 points.
Tuberville will probably beat Democrat Doug Jones, for a new Republican Senate seat. That will help Republicans keep the Senate.

Not if we lost the House too …

… I’m sure Nancy the Ripper could impeach Trump for winning the election

… They would just say he had white skin and did not support Burn Loot Murder …

The Senate only needs 67 votes to convict him …

… and they won’t get that, But …

… I am sure F. Chuck Schumer could find 16-17 GOP(D) senators to convict Trump …

I know but I see the training coming and people are merrily playing on the tracks as it approaches. I have worked in technology with the exception of a year or two when I first started out after college I have almost become anti technology because of how they are abusing it.

Some companies have RFID in place whereas other companies are letting it be optional to have an RFID chip inserted so they don’t need to use a card, thumb print, or retinal scan to gain access to a building. Just wave your hand and go in. In the old days they’d insert a card to gain access to a building.

They are taking RFID technology in a dangerous direction. They are using dumb Africans as their guinea pigs and seeing how they spend aid money or money they worked for. They are take advantage of the poor and ignorant first to refine it for a later mass rollout elsewhere.

An easy way of explaining RFID is using Easy Pass as an example. You can get a small box to sit on your car dashboard, so as you approach a toll booth, on a highway, your car is scanned and you drive through without stopping. There is an exchange between the car box and the booth scanner. It’s seamless to you. Or you can have it billed to your smart phone. Later you will get a bill in the mail etc…

Anyway, this information is passed onto your Easy Pass account. Depending on how you have your Easy Pass account set up, it can be directly deducted from your Easy Pass prepaid account or charged to your credit card. No cash is needed. When you get your credit card statement, you can have the transaction automatically deducted from your company deposited paycheck at the bank. You’ll just get a statement of transitions or you can check your statement on line so there is no need for a paper statement in the mail. If it is billed to your credit card, then you can look up the transaction online to see what has taken place with you credit card or your bank account or your Easy Pass account – all without the exchange of any cash and the government will have access to all of it. This is not sci-fi stuff.

It is being deployed and fine tuned for mass rollout for other applications. They already use parts of this to help locate where a wanted criminal could be by credit card and bank transactions but I think you still need a warrant to do that. At some point it would be so easy for the government, to say, you can’t buy stuff for some ridiculous reason and it doesn’t even need to be a law. It could be a regulation.

I see more and more articles about how traditional cash and coinage are loaded with germs and transmit diseases and how taking this digital route is safer for you and doesn’t spread germs and more convenient. Doesn’t that sound enticing, convenient and pc?

They can include this with a COVID-19 vaccine shot. What’s one more shot for an RFID chip to be inserted in addition to the vaccine ? It is easily inserted under your skin and this RFID chip would only be the size of a grain of rice. Have you medical record of shots included and updated that through a scanner. I hear kids talk in college… and they think it’s great. It’s convenient and someone else keeps track of their personal information since “they have nothing to hide.”

They don’t understand you shouldn’t want other people to have this information and the control you give others over your personal life. It’s beyond an invasion of your privacy.

Anyway, this is the article I started out referring to.

Africa to Become Testing Ground for
“Trust Stamp”
Vaccine Record and Payment System

July 13, 2020

A new biometric identity platform partnered with the Gates-funded GAVI vaccine alliance and Mastercard will launch in West Africa and combine COVID-19 vaccinations, cashless payments, and potential law enforcement applications.

More here on how this works
https://citizentruth.org/africa-to-become-testing-ground-for-trust-stamp-vaccine-record-and-payment-system/

Guess who is pushing this? Bill Gates and his “charity” foundation who started out with about 50 million and now has over 100 million as a “charity”. It’s a money maker! WHO (World Health Organization) and our own U.S., NIH (National Institute of Health) who Dr. Fraud, er Dr. Fauci is connected to as well as with Bill Gates likes the idea and there is a ton of money to be made. Imagine this on a global basis and the money to be made. Some people can’t make enough money and they don’t care what they do for it or how they get it.

As long as we have Trump as President it won’t be required here but a Governor could pass it as a “regulation”. In Rochland County, NY they are fining people 2K a day for not using their smart cell phone for contact tracing, of course for your protection, and for the good of others against COVID-19 and to eliminate the spreading of it. No, it’s just another way of government to track you and invade your privacy. It was done through a “regulation”.

$2,000 A Day Fine For Obstructing
Coronavirus Contact Tracing

We purposely have “dumb” cell phones rather than a smart phone to keep government out of our personal lives. We aren’t hiding anything but we like privacy.

It’s getting very Orwellian out there and people are oblivious. They are being set up for something very nasty. The government will have you totally under their thumb. Facial recognition is another topic that is being misused…. I could go and on about how technology is being abused…..for nepharious reasons.

OTOH the dreaded “mark of the beast” is a reality. People laugh at that and think the Bible has no credibility etc..The technology is clearly there for it and being fine tuned and used on unsuspecting guinea pigs. It is being pulled together, deployed on a smaller scale for refinement for a mass rollout. You can see it coming.

OTOH, as a pretribber, I can’t wait to leave what is about to come about. It’s going to be terrible and allot of people, good people, are oblivious and if you speak of it, depending on who they are, they think you are exaggerating and overdosed on science fiction or something like that and yet they are seeing parts of it already in day to day life being implemented. It’s all there. It just has to be pulled together. It;s being used for nefarious reasons and sold on convenience and being for your own good – just like abortion was sold.

It is disturbing!

1984 Is the book that appears to be coming to life before our eyes and I always have a copy around but Animal Farm is a great parody of the way the commies go about ruling their minions. He also wrotea book called HomageTo Catalonia which is about his experiences in the Spanish Civil War in which when he arrived was a socialist until he seen with his Oe eyes the reality of the communist party in action. A great read and an insight into the machinations of the totalitarian state in action.
He came to see reality during that civil war and was a socialist no more.
Down And Out In Paris And London is another fave and not to mention the Road To Wigan Pier which is like photo journalism without a camera.
All so good and I can never speak highly enough of the man.

“We aren’t hiding anything but we like privacy.”

It will get to a point where people who “aren’t hiding anything”…become the focus of the totalitarians finding it suspicious you “aren’t hiding anything.”
Because the young idiots of today on every single application showing and telling their whole life for strangers. The people who don’t do that will be accused of hiding something that they will deem suspicious and worthy of arresting people for 24 hours of grilling.

I was wondering what “RFID” was that acronym for. RFD, was in place from the twenties until around WWII, or shortly thereafter, when it was replaced with RR, for rural route followed by a number. the RFD stood for “Rural Free Delivery”.

So, when I first ran across “RFID” I took a wild guess and thought the UPS was doing something special for the rural types, with Rural Free INDEPENDENT Delivery.

Don’t get around much anymore.

Does anyone know where the bottom of this chasm is that the America I know is rushing over the cliff into ?

Perhaps for those like me who are stunned into disbelief at the goings on, it’s possible to remember the old saying
that if the place wasn’t worth fighting for, non of these events would be happening.

Those distancing themselves by their sedition from the constitution they swore to uphold when taking public office must be targeted and mercilessly driven from it because they have to prevented from encouraging others trying the same tactic again.

Leftists feign caring about the tired, the poor, the homeless, and wretched masses yearning to breath free

… but they’re only happy when they hear the screams of their victims under their jackboots.

This is all about power to the socialist/communist/marxist scum(they really aren’t democrats because they have no interest in democracy.) Yes, the NFL is quitting on us. I have plenty of sports cards and memorabilia of black players. I have rooted for black and white players alike. I have never discriminated in sports based on skin color. Now the NFL wants to go that way. They can do it without me. None of the sports are offering to reimburse me for spending money on cards of black or white players that bombed and now aren’t worth anything near what I payed for them.

So many other meaningless songs to consider …
My recommendation – Chuck Berry – (you know the song)

When I was a little bitty boy
My grandmother bought me a cute little toy
Silver bells hanging on a string
She told me it was my ding-a-ling-a-ling, oh

My ding-a-ling, my ding-a-ling
I want you to play with my ding-a-ling
My ding-a-ling, my ding-a-ling
I want you to play with my ding-a-ling

Then momma took me to grammar school
But I stopped off in the best of youth
Everytime that bell would ring
Watch me playin’ with my ding-a-ling-a-ling, oh

My ding-a-ling, my ding-a-ling
I want you to play with my ding-a-ling
My ding-a-ling, my ding-a-ling
I want you to play with my ding-a-ling

Once I was climbing the garden wall
I slipped and had a terrible fall
I fell so hard, I heard bells ring
But held on to my ding-a-ling-a-ling, oh

My ding-a-ling, my ding-a-ling
I want…

How about “Fighting In The Streets” by the Cockney Rejects?

https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-symantec-ext_onb&hsimp=yhs-ext_onb&hspart=symantec&p=cockney+rejects+-+fighting+in+the+strets#id=2&vid=10a9347ff81662f0e6b4da14c195a86d&action=view

You’re walking along quietly
There’s the sound of running feet
You turn around the corner
There’s fighting on the street
See all the kids they wanna good time
They all wanna get stuck in
Don’t know, don’t care
if they’re fighting for a cause
AS long as they get one in

Go

We’re fighting in the streets
You all look for solutions
But you can rack your brains
No matter what the gov’t do
Its never ever gonna change
Wankers hand hand out leaflets
They’ll never ever let it be
I don’t care what they do
But they better not come near me

Go

We’re fighting in the streets
You’re walking along quietly
There’s the sound of running feet
You turn around the corner
There’s fighting on the street
See all the kids they wanna good time
They all wanna get stuck in
Don’t know, dont care
if they’re fighting for a cause
AS long as they get one in

We’re always fighting in the streets
We’re always fighting in the streets
We’re always fighting in the streets
We’re always fighting in the streets

Time to deal with the NY SLIMES and the LA SLIMES with EXTREME PREJUDICE… as a COMMUNIST PROVOCATEUR…

…only problem is….it is not a crime to be a communist anymore than a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or Independent.

Brennan voted for a Communist Candidate….and the Bush Cabal still used him and kept him around.

Jeremiah was a Bullfrog, should be a contender, it was a #1 hit too.
It’s all lunacy! My wife just said Ashville NC, is getting ready to start paying reparations. We’ve been paying reparations for decades, its called Welfare.

I know. It’s insane. With the useful idiots in Ashville busting the dam, watch for other Loony Left Cities (and then probably states….) follow their lead.

Do these African Americans demanding reparations ever think of having Africa pay the repeparations? After all, it was Africans (and often Muslims) capturing and selling other Africans into the slave trade that started the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Black Africans were the progenitors of slavery, NOT whites.

To all blacks: Demand reparations from the people who sold you into bondage… viz., your fellow Africans; many of whom are direct, blood relatives.

“Lean on Me” – how appropriate for a bunch of losers who don’t want to stand on their own two feet. “Victims” who are in fact urban terrorists – running amok killing and maiming others, desecrating, looting and turning the USA into a sh*thole.
THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER forever!

When is the DoJ going to declare BLM a terrorist, subversive organization which is inciting people to violence?

The people behind BLM are virtually identical in motivation and tactics to Antifa, The Weather Underground, Earth Liberation Front, etc.

Once so declared, the Fed’s would then have legal grounds to go into these sanctuary cities and states and do the law enforcement work that the so-called ‘leaders’ of these cities and states have refused to do.

Lead, follow, or go to jail along with the Commie pukes destroying your cities and states.

And if they refuse to cooperate and assist, lock ’em up – all of them:

Walz, Frey, Ellison, Insley, Wheeler, Best, et al.
