NYPD says more than 300 police vehicles damaged since George Floyd death

By Washington Examiner, July 28, 2020

The New York Police Department said 303 of its vehicles have been damaged during protests since George Floyd’s death.

The NYPD announced on Monday that the damage to the vehicles totaled nearly $1 million in value. The department confirmed to the Washington Examiner on Tuesday that 14 of the vehicles were totaled because of fire damage, seven are in the process of being repaired, and the others are already back in service.

An NYPD spokeswomen said the damage total came to $996,700.

People were injured in New York early on in the nationwide protests that broke out following the death of Floyd, a black man who died after being filmed pinned to the ground by a white police officer. The protests soon morphed from outrage over Floyd’s death into broader calls for police reform.

At the height of the unrest in June, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a curfew for the city.

“The demonstrations we’ve seen have been generally peaceful,” de Blasio said at the time. “We can’t let violence undermine the message of this moment. It is too important, and the message must be heard.”

Amazing, New Yorker’s (as in other cities) can see, hear and smell the carnage happening right before them but when they watch the MSM telling them it’s not so bad, they’re mostly peaceful protestors, so many completely believe the obvious MSM lies. The years of brainwashing have been a success

If cops cannot even protect their own vehicles (guns blazing, if need be) – – what exactly is the point of having police? Wake up, people. It’s time to protect and serve, not hide behind a desk.

Following an illegal order is illegal. The reason that they “stand down” is COWARDICE. Pure and simple cowardice.

Cuomo fakes concern over escalating crime and still won’t fire DeBlasio because they have the same agenda!

Cuomo blames de Blasio’s Rikers releases, anti-cop attitude for NYC crime wave
By Bernadette Hogan and Julia Marsh
July 28, 2020 | 4:19pm

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday he was “very concerned” about the “devastating” crime wave sweeping the Big Apple, casting blame on anti-police sentiment, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s decision to release inmates from Rikers Island during the COVID-19 pandemic and the cratering economy.

“I am very concerned about it,” the governor said during a press call from Albany Tuesday.

There were 47 shootings just last week — a 176-percent jump over the 17 tallied during the same period last year, according to NYPD statistics.

“The result is intolerable and is devastating and is, long term as we’re trying to get New York City back up and running, it’s also a negative in getting New York up to speed,” Cuomo said.
….
(So why are you tolerating it?)

Simple answer……..Arm the Police with 12ga RIOT SHOTGUNS loaded with WIN#4’s. Issue orders to AIM at THEIR LEGS! (We don’t want to go killing the scum do we?) If you KNEW the POLICE would BLOW YOUR LEGS OUT FROM UNDER YOU….you would discover the tranquility of PEACEFUL PROTEST wouldn’t you?comment image

Going to be interesting to see how he thinks he’s going to ” protect ” the vast majority – which have nothing to do with this bs – its going to devolve into heavily armed groups – ala somalia or the majority of Africa
