Chinese Officials at Houston Consulate Engaged in Espionage and Cyber Theft, Senior Officials Say
Senior U.S. officials say CCP spy ring operated uninterrupted for a decadeChinese Communist Party officials
Chinese Communist Party officials operating at a consulate building in Houston, Texas, engaged in espionage operations on Beijing’s behalf and waged cyber attacks across the United States for at least a decade in one of the most sophisticated operations of its nature, according to senior law enforcement and State Department officials.
The Chinese consulate in Houston was ordered by the Trump administration to shutter its operations as of Friday, though it is unclear if China will heed this order. Communist Party officials have been caught shredding documents and other materials since the order was handed down earlier this week in what American officials say is an attempt to destroy evidence of these espionage operations.
Story continues below advertisementThe Houston facility is one of 25 known locations across the United States in which China installed undercover operatives to spy on the American government, U.S. businesses, and academic research institutions, according to multiple senior Trump administration officials familiar with the activities. From these outposts, Chinese officials “facilitated covert activity by instructing People’s Liberation Army (PLA) members to purposefully violate U.S. laws by making false statements on their visa applications and lying about their affiliation with the PLA,” according to information provided by the State Department. The Houston consulate served as a central base of operations, and “targeted more than 50 Houston-area researchers, professors, and academics for participation in Chinese talent plans,” which enlist Americans to steal sensitive research on behalf of the Communist Party.
The Trump administration’s landmark order shuttering the Houston consulate is just one piece of a larger effort to thwart Chinese espionage operations in the United States, which officials say have gone unchecked for decades. The Trump administration is expected to take further actions, which include sanctions on officials and the arrest of hackers known to steal information on the Communist Party’s behalf.
“The PRC Consulate in Houston has directed economic espionage and other activities contrary to U.S. law not only in the city of Houston but across the entire southeastern United States,” according to the State Department. “The criminal activities directed by the PRC Consulate in Houston include: economic espionage, visa fraud, theft of commercial intellectual property for diversion to the PRC military, theft of medical research for transfer to China, falsification of official documents, and more.”
The FBI, which has been investigating China’s operations in the United States along with the State and Justice Departments, said Chinese officials stationed in America have stolen more than $1 billion in trade secrets from American companies. Officials say this just scratches the surface of China’s U.S.-based spy ring.

Funny just how everyone seemed to forget the Communist part of China. Evryone was running around saying how proud they were that China was allowing private enterprise as if it meant the end of communism there.

In an interview with Fox Business host Lou Dobbs, Nunes sounded the alarm about reports that United States Attorney John Durham would wait until after the election to issue any indictments in his criminal investigation into the origins Russian collusion hoax.
Nunes explained that if Durham waited until after the election to bring criminal charges, and Joe Biden then won, it would all be for naught as the new Biden administration would end the prosecutions.
“Yeah, look, I’m confident that Durham’s doing a thorough investigation. People have to remember this is a sprawling investigation that stretches on from 2015 to the Mueller probe. So he’s got to get it right. What I worry about is this next election is critical because if Biden somehow was to pull off a victory here, all this will be buried, and we will then be left with a totally corrupt Department of Justice and FBI that will never get fixed and it will take this country into a level of chaos that we have not seen, if these prosecutions are not brought and people are not held to justice and put in jail,” Nunes told Dobbs.
Nunes stated that he wasn’t worried about the indictments having an impact on the election because the suspects in the case – Peter Strzok, James Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper – were not current government officials.
“Well, look, I think they will. I think they know that they — and I think they can. I’m not worried about this whole political issue because these are people that are not politicians. These are people that supposedly were working for our government. So these are not people that would sway the November election one way or the other. So I think they should bring it even if it’s October 15th,” Nunes added.
As of today, no one that perpetrated the Russian collusion hoax has been held accountable.
If United States Attorney Durham waits too long, no one will ever have to answer for this fraud against the American people.

I believe it started with the Clinton’s. After that the Clinton’s went moved on to Muslim money. Then a loop hole was found in some other laws to abuse VISAS for cheap labor that started under the Clinton’s too… GWB just rolled along with all of it. Disgusting.

What I believed (at one time, anyway) was that Nixon’s one accomplishment as prez was opening up China to the western world (and not recognizing Taiwan). Red China has never been an ally or a fair trading partner with us. Red spies everywhere!

Things were moving right along and it was Hillary’s turn. Then Trump happened. The corruption is well entrenched, deep and wide.
If Biden cheats his way to a win through mail in voter ballot fraud … I don’t see where watering the tree of liberty can be avoided. Freedom is not free and we were not as vigilent as we should have been.

This is one of those infamous “well – DUH!” things. Consulates, Embassies, etc. are fronts for just that. Yeh,. they do perform other duties, but their primary purpose is for gathering intelligence. That is a given fact, in spite of the hollers to the negative. But it is great to see that they have been so nicely taken down!

Whatever happened to the term “Red China”? Now it’s constantly referred to as CCP (Chinese Communist Party”. China, unlike the USSR and several other countries, is still Communist. They were NEVER friends of the USA!! I guess, though, that CCP is the politically correct term, huh?
