VIDEO: TV Journalists Defend, Excuse Five Nights of Riots

From the start, TV news media have done their darnedest to paint the riots happening across the country in a positive light. While many journalists have glossed over the widespread violence by relying on misleading characterizations like “mostly peaceful,” others have outright defended and justified the rioting.
Some of the these attempts to sanitize the rioting have bordered on parody. For a sampling of the media’s most desperate damage control, watch the video below:
Last Friday MSNBC’s Ali Velshi stood in front of a burning building and absurdly refused to describe the scene as “unruly.” That’s a descriptor more appropriately reserved for a hyper kindergarten class than for felonious arson — but evidently even that soft language was a bridge too far for Velshi: “I want to be clear in how I characterize this. This was, uh, mostly a protest. It is not, generally speaking, unruly. But fires have been started.”
The following evening, CNN’s Don Lemon deemed the riots a “mechanism” for “some sort of change.” The CNN Tonight host fumblingly argued that the kind of rioting unfolding on-screen was “how this country was started,” likening the destruction and looting to the Boston Tea Party:
Our country was started because — this is how — the Boston Tea Party. Rioting. So don’t — do not get it twisted and think that, oh, this is something that has not — has never happened before, and this is so terrible, and where are we, and these savages, and all of that. This is how this country was started.
TV journalists have a lengthy track record of excusing mob behavior ostensibly motivated by racial grievances. Back during the Los Angeles riots in response to the police shooting of Rodney King, USA Today contributor Julianne Malveaux described the rioters as “freedom fighters,” in a May 10, 1992 San Francisco Examiner column. She went on: “I not only accept the rebellions in Los Angeles, I identify with them.”
Just five years ago, then-CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill justified the crimes committed by rioters in Baltimore:
During CNN’s live coverage on Monday night of the Baltimore riots, CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill urged viewers to view what was taking place as “not a riot” but “uprisings” in response to African-Americans “dying in the streets for months, years, decades, centuries” due to “police terrorism.”

Time for the the Insurrection Act? This act allows the president to call on the U.S. armed forces to assist in law enforcement in certain circumstances. It’s an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act forbidding military use against citizens.
Those situations include “any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy” that “hinders the execution of the laws of that State, and of the United States within the State,” specifically where “any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law,” and the state’s own authorities “are unable, fail, or refuse to protect that right, privilege, or immunity, or to give that protection.”
The president can also use armed forces in the event of violence or an insurrection that “opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws,” or if a state calls on the president to help quell an insurrection against the state’s government.
During his remarks Monday evening, Trump specifically said that use of the military would either be at the request of states to have the National Guard deployed, or in the event that cities or states refuse to take measures to protect their residents.
“If a city or a state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them,” Trump said.

I have the deepest respect for your acumen and usually to your commentary. Though I am not a pacifist by nature, I, admittedly, abhor any conduct or commentary that involves the promotion of violence, except in personal and property protection self defense, and feel the need to say so to your comment above. I believe that the problems that are most likely the cause of some of this criminal conduct being committed by what appears to be young blacks, who are being promoted by anarchists from anti-fa movements that intend to turn this country into a dust bowl, is related to a chip that they carry on their shoulders, that has not been properly dealt with by their parents who should have taught them from birth that criminal conduct will not be tolerated, and should never be tolerated even though it may have been contributed to as a result of some of the implicit prejudice that exists here and elsewhere by Whites against Blacks; though I cannot condone violent and criminal conduct as an excuse or attempted justification of the looting and thievery that is happening today. It is frightful to see the Democratic party and their media colleagues consistently accusing the POTUS of racism and being a dictator, when his action is lawfully justified . The animosity that exists now in this nation is overwhelming those of us who can think rationally and recognize the right to non-violent civil protest, but who reject violence of any kind, especially if claimed to be justified by past events. We need this country to accept tolerance and respect for diversity, lest we fall into an abyss of a failing society. The divisiveness that exists today must be met head on by those who are in place to protect the people, and I hope that this country accepts that as the only resolution of matters that are growing out of control.

I don’t know if you are familiar with Desmond Doss. Hacksaw Ridge is a movie about him. He earned the Medal of Honor from President Truman, as well as other awards. There is an honorable role for everyone out there.

Everyone has a a gift and it’s up to the individual to discover it. Blacks are no exception. Identity politics poisons people and is dangerous. If you need a brain surgeon, do you want a competent person or one that fills the slot for a “diversity” quota?
As best I can see, merit destroys the liberal view of soft bigotry of low expectations for minorities. Why not have the same high standard for all and skip the participation trophies? Ididn’t have them growing up. They are ridiculous. Why is the true definition of EQUALITY so offensive today?. Why is MERIT shunned, veiwed as “racist” and ridiculed?
Do blacks in general feel inferior? Why aren’t they angry at liberals lower standards for them? Just questions that are politically incorrect. As you know, political correctness is to censor you and avoid awkward questions too! How many blacks have been held down by low standards? The sword cuts both ways for any race.
I also wonder if blacks HATE being black. Black is Beautiful. Black Pride. This suggests there is a problem. Surveys have shown the lighter the skin color of a black, the more sucessful or more money they make. Within the black community they don’t like extremely black people from Africa. They discriminate against them! You can easily see the difference between an American black and one direcly from Africa. These are American blacks discriminating against fellow African blacks!
Also check out an average world wide IQ map by country. See where our immigration is coming from legal and illegal.
Look at breakdown by race on academic standing at a public school website and see who is competing for the bottom.. There are always exceptions but when it comes to generalities there is a pattern.
How come Dr. Ben Carson is shunned by blacks instead of having them beam with pride? The movie, Gfted Hands shows he had a tough upbringing, a wonderful mother, support of her family and church. His father was a bigamist leading a double life so she rightully divorced him. His mother has honor and integrity. Dr. Carson had wonderful male role models from church that helped him grow up. We had the honor of dining with him at a Pro Life fund raiser at our kids school. He is an incredible person and just what you see in an interview on TV.. Why don’t blacks embrace him?
Why does the U.N. forbide a study on race and intelligence? Why was the author of The Bell Shaped Curve by Richard Herrnstein, an American psychologist and Charles Murray shamed and not their research faulted, if it was faulty?
The single D.C. Mayor, Murial Bowser adopted a very white looking baby…. There are lots of black babies available for adoption. Why should anyone be uncomfortable asking that question? Are blacks prejudiced against black babies available for adoption? There are more black babies available than white babies.

It took financial power (FED), political power (D), propaganda (MSM- press to entertainment), indoctrination (control of education), every conceivable influence/corruption of those individually and combined, a century, and a plan, to bring us from where we were at the start of the 20th century to where we were when the bottle hit the big screen. Everything since 2016, including this insurrection, is because the bottle hit the big screen.
Something really ugly was supposed to happen with Hillary in the WH.
Democrats and their foreign comrades dread the day everyone learns what was supposed to happen.

When Hillary lost the 2016 election she went absolutely wild with rage. Among other things, she threw a bottle of champagne worth almost a million dollars at a custom made 150″ big screen TV (gift from Saudis) and broke them both.

I live completely alone out in the woods. If I didn’t have a TV to kind of keep me company now and then, I’d get depressed. I know myself well enough to KEEP myself well. There are occasionally some good, older movies, on TV. I catch the news and weather, but then I sit back and quilt or read in the evening. I’m thankful for my little TV 🙂

BTW, I have all those good old movies and TV shows on disk, 56 terabytes of them, but what the Hollywood Left puts out now is just disgusting garbage and Leftist social engineering propaganda, even the commercials. I’ve tried downloading some of them and I just could not watch them for even one episode. The show Shameless is a good example. Nothing good comes out anymore, and I’m not paying $100 a month cable bill for that. I have all 20 seasons of Gunsmoke among many of the other great old shows, that have good stories with an actual plot, well acted, without the perversions and vulgarity Hollywood puts out today. That said, I’m going to watch Have Gun Will Travel. Have a fine evening 🙂

I agree, but I don’t have a DVD player and can’t afford one. (I HAD one, but the sound went haywire on it.)
So if I watch a DVD, it would have to be on my computer and the screen is too small to enjoy a movie and my computer chair is too hard on my back to sit long enough to watch a full-length movie. So i look for older movies on TV and there are actually quite a few. Some back to the 40’s and 50’s.

The so-called TV journalists, a term I use loosely, are an integral part of the endless rioting, mayhem, and subversion occurring in America’s cities.
They, as always, get a tingly feeling, a near orgasmic delight watching brutality toward the police and other first responders. It is the America this Fifth Column gaggle endeavors, the downfall of Trump and the Constitutional Republic. The Leftist mainstream media aligned with the Fascist faux-Republicans are hell-bent on turning the Republic into a mirror-image of the Peoples Republic of China or any totalitarian state.
These faux-journalists are no more than instigators, seditionists stoking the flames shouting ‘Burn Baby Burn’ in unison with Soros’ and the Democrats’ hired guns ANTIFA, BLM, and a legion of others. For the VERY unkind person who just told me to “enjoy your riots,” then blocked me: They aren’t MY riots. I’m not a Democrat, I’m a registered Republic and EXTREMELY conservative! I served in the Army to protect people like that nasty manored man, but sometimes I wonder why I did!
What a NASTY, uncivil man he was! I have put him on my prayer chain, because God wants NO ONE to perish, but he is most assuredly perishing! It’s so tragic 🙁
