UK’s Johnson: Israeli Sovereignty in Judea and Samaria breaches international law

67

That’s shameful, Boris. Especially since you know that is not true.  You cannot annex land that belongs to you!

UK’s Johnson: Israeli annexation in West Bank breaches international law

Last week, a UK diplomatic source said formal sanctions on Israel in response to annexation are unlikely, and in fact the UK seeks to increase scientific cooperation with Israel.

Story continues below advertisement

By Jerusalem Post, June 17, 2020

If Israel applies its laws in parts of the West Bank, it would violate international law, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in the House of Commons on Tuesday.

“I believe that what is proposed by Israel would amount to a breach of international law and we strongly object to it, and we believe profoundly in a two-state solution and will continue to make that case,” Johnson said in response to a question from fellow Conservative MP Crispin Blunt.

Blunt also pressed Johnson to threaten economic sanctions on Israel, but the prime minister did not respond to that part of the question.

Last week, a UK diplomatic source said formal sanctions on Israel in response to annexation are unlikely, and in fact the UK seeks to increase scientific cooperation with Israel. However, there is still a concern that there will be private boycott initiatives from UK companies and universities.

Israel was one of the first countries with which the UK – Israel’s third-largest trading partner after the EU and US – signed an agreement to ensure continued trade in case of a no-deal Brexit.

NOO-noo this is institutionalized apartheid. You make those poor Scots eat bad food and live in moldy houses. England MUST pay restitution to those helpless bagpipe squeezers.
But seriously, Boris is being illogical. And he is simply cherry-picking international law to make his case against Israel.

Poppey, I hope everyone is well and still sane or at least somewhat lucid. We are doing our best not to go online to order straitjackets. My brother-in-law, as is Chris’ lineage is Scot; her brother loathes Scotland, because as you mentioned, drooled over England’s cash while holding their noses. If there were a way to revoke his Scot DNA, he would do so.

Regarding Boris, he has not lived up to the hyperbole… but then, he is better than Labour’s Corbyn. It is not only the UK suffering from inept leadership, it is, now, a prerequisite for one to become a leader, especially in the West. Take care, Poppey, bonjour to all.

Boris was always center-left. He is just better than the alternatives at moment. For example, as foreign minister, Boris signed the authorizations for UK Intelligence to spy on Trump for possible Russian collusion. Then the Brits gave the Intel to the FBI and CIA. The CIA can’t spy directly on US citizens, so they asked the Brits for help.

Indeed, political conservatism throughout the West is sucking its last breath. Those professing conservatism by-and-large are center-left or worse. Good post, so damn true.

Zig, I do believe that we will get through this crisis. From 1939 to 1941, the USA was awash with hundreds of thousands of socialist demonstrators, opposing war with Germany because of the Stalin-Hitler pact. But one week after Hitler invaded Russia on June 23, 1941, those same hundreds of thousands demonstrated in favor of entering WWII, to rescue the Soviets.
In the 1950’s, D.C. was full of commies, and the 1960’s “new left” was 100% radicals, with lots of violence, shouting things like “kill the pigs”, and “kill whitey”. Reagan fixed things for a while, and we beat the USSR. Then the Clintons and Obama started wrecking things again, but now we are armed with strong evidence that communism/socialism ALWAYS makes poverty worse, and China is our enemy. Therefore, this may well be a very noisy swan song of the Left.
Two weeks after the riots, I notice that the Japanese have already lost interest in their scattered ‘Black Lives Matter’ demonstrations.

Far be it from me to try and defend the actions of Boris as I’m ill with his in-actions at this moment but it was quite a while ago and just maybe Boris didn’t understand the truth and quality of Trump.
He turned out to be much more than the person that I expected him to be prior to the race for the Whitehouse and I and many many brits were overjoyed at the great but unexpected victory.
We all make mistakes.

Yes and Trump seems to have forgiven Boris. I mentioned that because it helps show that Boris was/is not a strong conservative, who would have demanded clear proof before authorizing the spying on a foreign president of a friendly power, and the use of that info to overthrow that president.

Ironically, the fucked up United Kingdom, which is on its last legs, presumes to measure Israel?

“GREAT BRITAIN” was the greatest parasite and colonialist and slave owner in world history – it lived on the bones of the colonies for centuries.
And now the bone-idle “Glorious Kingdom” lives on the labor of immigrants of the former colonies .

So – Johnson, it’s time to return Northern Ireland and Gibraltar etc. and to shut up.
Just be happy to have left the EU, and try to smoke out your own islamic plague instead of disparaging the prospering and only democracy in the Middle East.

And my lifelong love of Manchester United is at stake, if the players go along with the premier league’s wishes and take the knee.
If that happens then I’ll wash my hands of them and live on past glories only. I’ll be finished with supporting them which will be painful.

Democracy rules – you’re obviously simple! Give back Scotland to who exactly? The Scottish? They already have it, but want to give it to the eu! And if you’re talking about independence, then democracy spoke in 2014 when the majority sided to stay in the most successful political union that has ever existed.
So democracy does not rule.. which pretty well sums the Scottish Nazi Party up

Norman’s nonsense: Please look at the context of my comment. My logic is simple: If Boris thinks Israel must give away the Palestinian territories as a separate state, then Boris should give away Scotland as a separate state. And if Boris is not willing to give away Scotland, then he should not demand that Israel give away the Palestinian territories.

Please read stuff before prejudging my thoughts. These are trying times I know, where enemies seem to be everywhere, but we appear to be on the same side of the political spectrum.

I believe that what is proposed by Israel would amount to a breach of international law…

Anyone inclined to accept the UK PM’s word on the subject as authoritative should contend with the argument very ably set forth by Eugene Kontorovich. My firewall precludes access to Youtube, but you can get to one of his speeches on the subject by going to jewsdownunder.com. About midway through the page, on the right hand side, you will see a link to :

Eugene Kontorovich: Jewish Settlements & International Law

Mr Kontorovich also wrote a scholarly paper on the subject entitled Palestine, Uti Possidetis Juris, and the Borders of Israel. You at least used to be able to read in its entirety for free at:

https://arizonalawreview.org/palestine-uti-possidetis-juris-and-the-borders-of-israel/

Kontorovich is brilliant and as best I can tell is authoritative: I would like to see the likes of Boris Johnson refute his argument.

Fresh from his regime’s glittering victory over covid 19 {only 42,000 deaths and rising} dear Boris is once again being led by the nose by the Arabist Foreign and Commonwealth Office into making exactly the same gormless statements
so beloved by all the others before him.

While any and all political alternatives to him and his battalions of CINO MP’s are unthinkable, the fact remains that rather than study the historical records of what was divided up and given out before being examined and judged to be fair and equitable a century ago by the League of Nations, he prefers to pander to the current hysteria centered around perceived historical/racial “injustices”.

This situation is for me the deciding issue, are the people who voluntarily stand for election fit for high office by reason of their proven record of success in public or private life or are they not.

The answer to that lays in the question.

Relax, Israeli tech is in demand everywhere, including in the phone of Boris.

I hope Israel doesn’t get suckered into doing business with China’s Huawei. I read they were considering it. China is a global problem. They are gobbling up what they want from countries without the baggage and slowly owning them economically. Why go to war, when the country is under your thumb economically and you know what they are up to via Chinese technology?

China loves to spy on people and other countries. It’s perfect for them to control the technology infrastructure of other countries through predatory loans and reap the benefits when they default. Even if they don’t default, China will have instant access to sensitive information they shouldn’t have.

Once China gets their hooks into a country, they love to blackmail them into submission.

Why are you blaming the “English”? The English establishment treated their own people far worse than any other people not that truth matter much nowadays. The crimes of GB are the crimes of its establishment and that is the same for ALL nations. Do check up on how common soldiers and sailors were treated and just how convicts were treated. Whipping one to death was not uncommon. These are the crimes of the elite NOT the common man.

Which time? I mean, the English did SO much, SO many times.
I’m half English, one quarter Welsh, one quarter Irish, and to me it’s always felt like an inter-familial brawl. Now on top of all the historical grievance of my ‘family’ the political powers that be are destroying it all with bad immigration and other laws that degrade the historical character of all the forenamed countries. Pretty soon it’s not going to matter, because the whole shebang will be Balkanized and make previous quarrels look like the good old days.
I could do without a queen or royalty at all. I realize the value of figureheads and pomp and circumstance, although I’m not sure any of it means much now. I could do without politicians, for that matter. It’s better than the alternative, as we are finding out the hard way. Too bad that doesn’t say too much.

The Irish at one time used to raid the pre-England shore to take people as slaves back to Ireland. How do you think Saint Patrick ended up there. The Scotts were an Irish tribe that invaded what is now modern day Scotland and decimated the Picts and other indigenous peoples etc etc etc. Invasion conquest and brutality is the root of every modern civilisation. You can’t expect any Englishman to feel guilt about the history of his country.
Yours is the narrative of the dumb arse BLM fools and is nonsensical. Alexander The Great did nasty stuff to Thebes in his quest to unite Greece before conquering the known world. Show me just one great nation that didn’t partake in brutality on the road to greatness? Go ask an Apache or a Mohawk how fair America’s history is.

It’s funny how Israel is always the focus of the rotten atheist West’s outrage — rather than say, Turkey (for invading, annexing and ethnically cleansing Cyprus) or Nigeria (for the ongoing extermination of Christians there) or the various muslum slave states (Mauritania, the Sudan, Mali, Niger) or Soddy Barbaria (a complete religious and gender apartheid state).

There are people from Britain who are saying Johnson should be impeached for crimes and misdemeanours against England and the English.
These crimes includes the covering up the gang rape of children by not publishing report; refusing to give the dying the chance of life with HCQ +zinc + AZ; bankrupting the nation; taking scientific advice from an ‘expert’ who is a walking disaster (Neil Ferguson, the Coronavirus Expert, who resigned after caught meeting his married lover after insisting everyone else be under a strict lockdown); allowing the police to have stasi level powers to bully and intimidate the good people of England into what may become semipermanent house arrest; keeping all airports open with no health checks; running a ferry bus service to pick up criminal gangs operating from Calais. Many are saying he is worse than Blair and May combined.

I thought the British were proud of their sense of irony – which seems, along with common sense, to desert them when it comes to the Jewish state.

So, we must listen to Crispin Blunt and Boris Johnson drone on about “international law” – this from a nation that disarmed the Jews in 1948, and then provided British officers to assist the Arab legion to throw the Jews into the sea.

Israel is mentioned in the Merneptah Stele — also known as the Israel Stele or Victory Stele of Merneptah dated 1208 B.C. — is an inscription by the Ancient Egyptian king Merneptah who reigned from 1213 to 1203 B.C.
The first appearance of the term “Palestine” was in 5th century BC Ancient Greece when Herodotus wrote of a “district of Syria, called Palaistine between Phoenicia and Egypt” in The Histories.
