House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) appeared to experience a ten-second mental lapse Thursday during an on-camera press conference.
Pelosi was reading from a letter she had sent to President Donald Trump earlier in the day expressing concerns about “the increased militarization” of law enforcement efforts in the Nation’s Capital amid the violent protests and riots ravaging the city.
MediavinePelosi reads from the letter, looks away from it for a moment – then loses her train of thought and stutters, unable to collect her thoughts, until she refocuses on the letter:
“Well, I preface it by saying, as you probably saw, there are military on the steps of Linc–of Lincoln Memorial. The…la…uh…the, uh–what is it?”

Parkinson’s’ disease dementia
She had it mostly under control for a while, but it is a progressive and terminal disease.

I wonder ….. I personally know of two relatives that died of organ failure due to Alzheimer’s. One was a beautiful person inside and out and even with the disease maintained her graciousness. She was an incredible women till the very end. She is still loved and missed by any one that knew her. Till this day, I have never met anyone like her before.
The other one fooled people on the outside all her life but her vileness became more visible to others as the disease progressed and consumed her. She also died of organ failure due to Alzheimer’s. My question is this, is their true nature exposed as defenses wear down and the mask comes off as the disease progresses? What are your thoughts on that?

Well, I think that’s probably too simple. Some snails get by with 9 neurons, and that family is hundreds of millions of years old. Humans have trillions of neurons, and they are not all that well integrated. The parts are quite different, and when one part quits, other parts can compensate, or also just quit.
SO the brain failure is like the organ failure. Generally, it follows a pattern of failure in cascade. One organ begins to quit, and that causes others to begin to quit.
But what quits first, and what does not, is dicey to predict. I am just glad that the good patient [your mother?] stayed good until the end. Some good people become pretty bad.

My grandmother was the good one. Her daughter was the bad one. They were like night and day when both had their wits.
I still think there is something to it but I would need to hear about others. Dr. Ben Carson’s mother has it. I don’t know if she is still alive. They can last for years in that state. When he spoke of her, he quickly qualified her as “happy Alzheimer patient”.

Yes, I saw that too. However, McCain died from glioblastoma, a brain cancer. It destroys the brain, and this gets pretty scary and upsetting at the end stage, for the family. Like all fatal diseases, there are some common sense procedures that relate to ‘do not resuscitate’ type orders. So McCain was almost certainly ‘unplugged’ at some point.

Your remark is a ridiculous exaggeration. You need to put down the Bud Light and get out of the trailer park more. You might visit, for example, the northwest corner of North Kimball Ave. and W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. This morning at about 8:45 am, a Shell gas station was vandalized and set on fire. The damage appeared to be mostly superficial, but the event raised quite a ruckus among the Chicago FD for an hour or two while they put out the fire and gathered up their equipment. (I counted five trucks, including two ladder trucks even though it’s just a small, one story building.) Numerous other stores, however, are not in “ruins”, and I haven’t seen any ruined houses in the neighborhood.
