Chirlane McCray, who has just been revealed as a world-class pilferer of taxpayer funds, and her team spent an eye-popping $900 million — and nobody seems to have a clue on what. Nobody kept receipts; the subways and street corners are still overrun with crazy people, and nobody in charge knows what’s to happen next. And yet the mayor defended the decision to put his wife in charge of that council, saying that her work with the boondoggle ThriveNYC made her qualified because of the ideas she generated, including a $250-million-a-year mental health plan.

First lady Chirlane McCray will put statues and structures honoring historic figures tainted by slavery — including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson — under the microscope as part of a new “Commission on Racial Justice and Reconciliation,” Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Friday.
Hizzoner’s move comes a day after five city lawmakers — including City Council Speaker Corey Johnson — sent a letter requesting the statue of Jefferson be removed from the council’s chamber, as leaders across the city and nation struggle to respond to weeks of protests over racism that followed the death of George Floyd.
“This is exactly the kind of thing that this new commissions needs to examine,” de Blasio told reporters during his morning briefing, announcing his wife’s latest assignment. “I think it is the time to evaluate the entire look and feel of this city and a commission that’s focused on justice and reconciliation can really think about a bigger approach.”
He added: “I’m going to charge them with that task.”
De Blasio said that would include examining City Hall’s statue of Washington and the name of the mayoral residence, Gracie Mansion, which was built and owned by a slave owner, Archibald Gracie.
When pressed by reporters, de Blasio acknowledged he was not sure how far the review should go, but said it was time to examine the “profound contradictions” of the city and nation’s forefathers.
“I don’t have a foregone conclusion for you now as to what names should be kept, what names should be changed,” he added. “But I think this commission is the right way to do it.”

The purview of McCray’s new panel will be expansive, de Blasio said, examining ties between racism and virtually every facet of the city, even making mention of Robert Moses — the “power broker” and city construction czar who historians say ran roughshod over poor and minority neighborhoods to build freeways and other amenities that benefited white New Yorkers.
It’s the city’s third plunge — and McCray’s second — into the tricky issue, which critics say is a slippery slope toward sanitizing history altogether.
De Blasio ordered a commission in 2017 to reexamine memorials to controversial figures — including Christopher Columbus statue in Columbus Circle.
That panel closed up shop in January 2018 recommending that officials relocate just one statue — controversial 1800s gynecologist Dr. J. Marion Sims, who perfected his surgical techniques by operating on black slaves without anesthesia.

McCray previously led a commission to build statues of historical women figures, which came under intense criticism after it snubbed sainted Italian-American nun Mother Cabrini.
The reconciliation commission is the second task force that McCray has been named to in recent weeks after Hizzoner selected her to co-chair a panel examining how racial inequities helped to fuel the coronavirus outbreak.
Critics have slammed City Hall for using the high profile posts as a way to boost McCray’s profile as she eyes a possible run for the Brooklyn Borough presidency in 2021.

Don’t fret. He will probably be replaced with Lenin. We already have statues paying homage to Lenin in large U.S. cities. They are in Los Angeles, Ca., NYC, NY, Seattle, Washington, and Los Vegas, Nevada. Former Soviet dictator Josef Stalin has a statue honoring him in Bedford, Virginia Other countries are also resurrecting Lenin in statutes for admiration like Germany! Some have been sleeping and the media is hiding this from the rest of us….. These are supposed to be our replacement heroes!
DeBlazio must be especially proud of Ernesto “Che” Guevara who has a statue honoring him in Central Park, NYC. This was erected sometime around 2008 during Obama’s reign of terror. It is no coincidence that DeBlaizo and his former lesbian, black wife honeymooned in Cuba! They are both Marxists!
Ironically, Guevara was a rabid racist and viewed blacks as intellectually inferior to those of European descent and very lazy. When Mayor DeBlazio used a phrase associated with Guevara. The Cubans in Florida, booed him! They were horrified! They fled Cuba to get away from that. That happened when he was campaigning for President – LOL! The only reason he ran for President was because he could keep the donations after he dropped out. Even his staff laughed at his running for President. He knew he didn’t have a chance.
Wikipedia is good for something. They LOVE these people – Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. He was a major figure of the Cuban Revolution that put Castro into power.

The USA is descending into chaos due to the left. What next? burning all the books in the libraries that are not ‘acceptable’ and stripping the museums likewise? These politicians were elected to run cities and states for the benefit of all; not to carry out radical changes that will affect future generations. Not to rewrite history according to their designs.

The idea that only white people owned slaves in this country is an untruth that has been repeated so often over the years that many people have come to accept it as fact. Slavery, like abortion today, was/is a heinous practice, yet, both were/are legal under the law in this country. When slavery was allowed here, anyone who had the money and means to own slaves could do so.
One of the largest slave-holders in the antebellum South were the Metoyers of Louisiana, a wealthy black Creole family who owned more slaves on their plantation than their white neighbors. Another story involving white enslavement was that of the German immigrant girl from New Orleans named Sally Miller.
I am sure there are many more stories that can attest to the fact that regardless of race or skin color, the
enslavement of human beings by other human beings is a horrible sin in the eyes of God. Unfortunately,
human trafficking is still widely practiced in many areas of the world today, including the United States.
However, Americans are only reminded by The Establishment of the historical enslavement of black people,
and issue which has been used and is being used as an excuse by revisionist progressive historians and educators, politicians, and the news media to divide the people along racial and social lines and to invoke
fear and hatred and suspicion, while using their clueless lackeys to desecrate statues and to loot and burn in the streets in order to “transform” America into their skewered vision of a lawless, free-for-all socialist utopia.
Former President Obama once said that he wanted to “transform America” with “Hope, hope, hope!”
Instead we are seeing nothing but increasing displays of “Hate, hate, hate!” from Socialist wolves in
Democratic sheepskin.
