President Trump Confirms Major U.S. Troop Drawdown in ‘Delinquent’ Germany

29

Enough is enough.

Why should we provide Germany’s military defense? World War II ended 75 years ago. Why are we still there? We have been in and out of any number of countries in subsequent conflicts. The fact that Germany demands we continue while they default on their contributions to NATO is the icing on the cake.

Trump Confirms Major U.S. Troop Drawdown in ‘Delinquent’ Germany

By: Simon Kent, Breitbart, June 16, 2020:

President Donald Trump confirmed Monday a major reduction in U.S. troop strength in Germany will go ahead as he faulted the “delinquent” NATO ally for failing to pay enough for its own defense.

“We’re putting the number down to 25,000 soldiers,” Trump said at the White House.

“We’re protecting Germany and they’re delinquent. That doesn’t make sense,” the president continued, referring to Germany’s failure to attain a goal set by all NATO members in 2014 to spend at least two percent of gross national product on defense by 2024. Germany says it hopes to reach two percent by 2031.

“Until they pay, we’re removing our soldiers, a number of our soldiers,” Trump said, noting America bears the burden of militarily defending Europe and gets precious little in return.

American facilities in Germany currently include Ramstein Air Base, a critical hub for operations in the Middle East and Africa and headquarters to the U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa; the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, which has saved the lives of countless Americans wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan; and the Stuttgart headquarters of both the U.S. European Command and the U.S. Africa Command.

There’s also the Wiesbaden headquarters of U.S. Army Europe, the Spangdahlem F-16 fighter base and the Grafenwoehr Training Area, NATO’s largest training facility in Europe.

As Breitbart News reported, the president first flagged the troop drawdown last September and just last week Germany’s special coordinator for Transatlantic ties called it “completely unacceptable.”

Now Trump is making good on his promise.

In his White House remarks to reporters, Trump noted the presence of American troops is a boost to local German commerce and they will now have to make do with less U.S. dollars circulating in their economies.

“Those are well-paid soldiers,” he said. “They live in Germany. They spend vast amounts of money in Germany. Everywhere around those bases is very prosperous for Germany. So Germany takes, and then on top of it they treat us very badly on trade.”

In addition to the 34,500 U.S. troops in Germany, there also are approximately 17,500 Defense Department civilians.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell previously criticised Germany’s lack of participation in NATO global operations, telling Breitbart London as recently as 2018: “It is woeful; Germany is the largest economy in Europe. They made a commitment to NATO, and they should be serious about that commitment; it is a multilateral institution that guarantees the allies, guaranteeing freedom.”

Also their leaders have encouraged the insanity of open borders with mass 3rd world immigration esp. from muslim countries- that of so-called refugees, who mostly can’t cope in Western society, being from such backward lands. So unsurprisingly in reality the results have been disastrous with these rapugees, gimmigrants & gibsmedats causing chaos, spreading & committing violent crime all over W. Europe including terrorist acts & of of course multiple rapes. Fortunately the leaders of the 4 Visegrad or E. European countries despite intense pressure from the euro soviet politicians i.e. EU/UN axis have held firm, refusing to subscribe to such madness.

Anyone Below The Green Line Is A Parasite And Should Be Expelled From NATO.
NATO is making the same mistake they made before WWII, with their stupid mutual protection pacts. None of them worked. Britain and France guaranteed Poland protection from the Nazis, but Germany grabbed Poland in 4 weeks. Britain and France did nothing. That ‘pact’ was stupid because it was unenforceable, and it created a false sense of security. That false sense of security enabled a Nazi takeover of many ‘neutral’ countries, like Denmark, Holland, Belgium, etc., etc.

THEY ALL THOUGHT they were safe, but they were not safe.

Honestly, if Russia wanted Albania, would I mind? Not so much. Would we nuke Russia over Albania? Don’t be silly.

We went to war. I lost 4 brothers in WW2. My city, London, was bombed night and day. Don’t bloody tell me we did nothing. The UK stood alone for a year against the German war machine and if it wasn’t for Pearl Harbour the USA would have remained on the fence. We only finished paying back the US for war materials in Dec 2006. Maybe our war dead should have “did nothing’ carved on their graves

As I read your reply I thought of the RAF and the death rate and yet they didn’t hesiitate to fly. Those were brave men and knew the odds. I couldn’t possibly disrespect them or your four brothers who fought against the Germans. You should be very proud of them. I’m sure DR will reconsider. I am certain he meant no ill will towards the brave men and women who fought off the Germans.

Churchill was an amazing leader and far superior to our FDR. The Japanese attacked us in 1941 and then a few days later a joint declaration of war by Germany and Italy was made against the United States that got us into the war.

Rose: Yes, and I do not mean to suggest that the UK did nothing for the entire war. When Poles to this day complain about that failed mutual defense pact, I point out that Britain DID defend Poland, it just took 6 years to get it done.
However, I hope you understand my point, that Britain and France were not actually able to defend Poland from Germany [and the Soviets]. And mutual defense pacts are not the same as self-defense. Britain won the war because of a self-sufficient military, not mutual defense pacts.

I really didn’t know Germany was threatened by “commies in China.” We in the US have a greater threat from commies in the US.

We can’t even protect them from themselves as they let the mozzlem hordes in, and then allowed and continue to allow them to run roughshod over the native German population…..

TOTAL NATO countries’ military budgets = $1 trillion approx.
TOTAL USA military budget = $730 billion approx.
Therefore the USA pays 3/4 of the entire NATO budget. For a bunch of over-taxed, over-regulated, under-brained, quasi-socialist fools who can’t /won’t govern themselves, or unify properly with others, or even defend themselves against Russia.
TOTAL Russia military budget = $65 billion approx.

We should pull them ALL out. Layoff the adminstrative people when they get back and take care of our military here.

THE REAL PURPOSE was to garrison Germany after WWII to prevent further trouble. If the Nazis or Commies came back, US troops would regain control of the government and restore democracy.
Same with Japan, that’s why US troops are still there.
And I must admit, Germany does seem capable of going full commie right now.

As far as Japan, we never should have given back Okinawa, or any of the Ryukyu. For centuries, the Japanese plundered, tortured and enslaved the people. Japan should have NEVER gotten it back.

They still won’t admit to that or their “comfort women”. They also brutally raped women. They were brutal. They threw babies in the air and used a bayonet to stabed them or just threw them against a wall and bashed their heads in. The Rape of Nanking spilled the beans on that.

The “Rape of Nanking” was a Sunday regatta at the yacht club, compared to the atrocities they committed in Korea.

But, as Sherman said, as Union troops were doing those same things, “War is hell”.

There is no sound reason why our troops should be in Germany. To protect them from whom?? They already welcomed the islam enemy in with open arms and taking over cities and causing crime and havoc. If Gemany feels they need protection from ?, they can take up arms themselves if they think their country is worth saving. US lives should not be wasted or sacrificed there.

The US has been occupying Germany since 1945, so they’re basically supposed to pay up for their “occupiers”. There is no peace treaty to this day between Germany and the U.S., so on paper, they are enemies. The US has been using Germany as a military base to invade North African countries and the Middle East. Do you think Germans feel safe with US nuclear bombs in their country. Oh and WHO CAUSED THE MILLIONS OF MUSLIM RAPEFUGEES. WHO CAUSED THE SWAMP OF RAPEUFEEGS that destroy all of Europe? Ah that’s right, decades of bombing of their countries by the U.S. Oh and who is the paymaster in Europe and bails out all other countries via Target2? Germany is. What has the US really been preventing for decades and what is their worst enemy? Germany and Russia working together. There is zero threat from Russia, they are Germany’s brothers and sisters

Merkel had plenty of time to cough up some money. She has money for everything else such as the Nord Stream gas pipeline between Russia and Germany, migrants and “refugees”.

She prefers to do business with Russia, China and Iran over the U.S. and get a free ride off our military. She makes a mockery of NATO. Let her form her own EU military and pay for it.

Opps! China is already blackmailing Germany and so is Turkey! If she doesn’t pay up, Turkey will release millions of Muslim refugees, migrants and more convicted crimnals Turkey doesn’t want from their prisons into the EU.

Germany Frets – China Threatening German Auto Industry if Huawei 5G is Blocked
Posted on December 16, 2019 by sundance

At the same time Beijing is reportedly promising internal reforms to retain access to a vital and necessary U.S. market for Chinese goods, Beijing is threatening Germany if they block Huawei technology from their 5G network China will announce German autos are unsafe for import…. Chancellor Angela Merkel is in a pickle.

She was even dumb enough to do business with Iran and buck Trump sanctions afterwards.
Germany is not an ally.

A German firm’s chemical and biological technology was purchased by Iran
and allegedly used against Syrian civilians.

FEBRUARY 5, 2018 21:24
BY BENJAMIN WEINTHAL

Germany’s Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control approved a license for a company to sell military applicable technology to Iranian companies that were subsequently used in the Syrian regime for chemical weapons attacks, reported the German publication Bild on Monday.

The German company Krempel, located near the southern city of Stuttgart, sold electronic press boards to Iranian companies that were used in the production of rockets.

Move to Poland. They want us there and they will do there part. They have never forgotten what the Soviet Union, now Russia, did to them. I know the move won’t happen because Poland shares a border with Russia and that would really spin up Putin and the RINO’s in DC are afraid to do that.

Germany’s leader Angela Merkel, caused irreparable harm to Germany and the whole EU by opening their borders to undocumented immigration of hundreds of thousands of unskilled young men from Syria, Africa, Afghanistan and the like. They offered free housing, food and health care to them but cannot come up with the 2% agreed upon for military commitments !

We are not the American Empire. We have no business protecting anyone except the United States. We need to stop the slaughter of our best and brightest young people. The countries in NATO have economies that are very strong and can provide for military forces to protect their own countries.

Stop the endless wars. It’s the only way to avoid our own destruction.
