Georgia Democratic Rep To Introduce Bill Classifying Attacks On Trump Supporters As A Hate Crime

Story continues below advertisementDemocratic Georgia Rep. Vernon Jones, who has endorsed the reelection of President Donald Trump, is preparing a bill that would classify an attack on anyone just because they support the president as a hate crime.
This bill would allow the courts to sentence` violators to more than a slap on the wrist.
Jones received a lot of backlash for supporting the president.
He had intended to leave the Georgia state legislature in April but support from his constituents led him to change his mind.
Jones cited the jobs for Blacks that Trump created, especially the good-paying jobs in manufacturing.
He also mentioned the First Step Act that reversed the mass incarceration from the Clinton crime bill that Joe Biden personally pushed through the Senate that led to the mass incarceration of Blacks.
He also loved the fact that Trump sent so much money to traditionally Black colleges and universities that kept some of them from closing their doors.
And lastly, he praised the president for creating opportunity zones that gave tax breaks for companies to move into blighted areas and allowed for the revitalization of many Black communities across the nation.
Jones said:
“I’ve watched countless videos of Trump supporters getting attacked in the streets simply due to their support of @realDonaldTrump. Let’s call this what this is: a hate crime. And as we return to the legislature next week, I’ll be introducing legislation that’ll make it such.”
“When I started receiving the overwhelming amount of support and outcry from the people that I represent in House District 91 in DeKalb and Rockdale counties, my fellow Georgians, and fellow Americans from across this country in every walk of life, every age, every color, every party — that was emotional, and that was motivational.”

BOOM! Dexamethasone Works For Covid-19 type Pneumonia.
Huge news, because it works to substantially reduce mortality in the sickest patients. It’s a cheap generic, it is widely available, it has only mild side effects, and it can be stacked with other meds like hydroxychloroquine and Remdesivir.
No other drug has been proven to actually reduce mortality in really sick patients. The randomized controlled clinical trial used thousands of patients. This could cut USA Covid-19 mortalities down by about 25%, and maybe 50% in the elderly and vulnerable. It’s NOT a cure, but it can help a lot of people, and it can save hundreds of thousands of lives, worldwide.

One dictum of science is “Nullius in verba” [don’t take anyone else’s word for it, see for yourself]. So science has been dealing with liars for millennia. Science is very imperfect, but it’s not complete BS either. For example, for the 300,000 year history of the human species, life expectancy was about 37. Then the industrial and scientific revolutions took off, and it was about 47 in 1900, and now it’s about 80 in the USA. It is still advancing in the industrialized world. Science has always helped industry, and industry has always helped science.
There are methods available that can validate information, no matter where it comes from. Do I really trust the ‘right-wing’ Fox news? No, I don’t, because they make factual errors, leave out important details, have some crazy commenters, etc. I do read Fox, but I double check and cross-validate their reports. I don’t read CNN, because it is 99% baloney.
Most studies published in The Lancet are replicated by other studies, and have been used to save millions of lives. But of course, ‘Nullius in verba’ applies to every Lancet study. The Spanish study on dexamethasone and ARDS looks good enough to use right now, and let’s hope for future replications.

Hey Michele, yes the British are doing a lot of clinical trails right now on Covid-19 treatments.
The dexamethasone study just finished, with good results. It is NOT a miracle cure, but it does reduce Covid-19 mortality in the most severe pneumonia [ARDS] cases. Similar corticosteroids have been used for years on ARDS, but the results have been mixed. Then a Spanish study found that dexamethasone works for ARDS in general, so the Brits found it works on Covid-19 ARDS.

So this is good news for ARDS Covid-19 patients, who need all the help they can get, and it will also help severe flu patients who get ARDS. So we might see an overall decline in global flu mortality as well.

Yes, there may be a silver lining in this pandemic if it leads to more effective treatments of the flu and other viruses. The human species has proven over the ages an ability to both innovate and adapt. The CCP Virus will not be an exception. In fact,it may well be the exception that proves the rule.

Hey John, yes, “The human species has proven over the ages an ability to both innovate and adapt.” The paradox is that humans are terribly susceptible to infection. Dogs can drink and eat horrible stuff that would kill a human. Rats are incredibly tough. One theory is that the super-complicated human nervous system makes us especially vulnerable to infection.
And paradoxically, it is precisely this super-complicated nervous system that can save our bacon. Because we can think up ways to kill the bugs that are trying to get us.

And paradoxically, as awesome as it is for saving our bacon from bacterial and viral infection, it is also what we use to “reason” ourselves away from God and Into Leftism and ultimately that will lead us into behavior to annihilate ourselves… at least if the Leftism and greed continues to grow. So far I don’t see that trend reversing and I don’t know if Leftism is curable.

Well maybe that’s what the Bible is about. We were given these huge brains, and then we spent hundreds of thousands of years wrecking each others’ lives. Finally somebody wrote down a book of basic rules to follow, to smarten up and cooperate.
An without that book, we would still be living to age 37 on average, and with $1 per day, the way we did for 299,900 years.

I think you’re right and the Left knows it.
They are acting like a cornered wounded animal. We can expect them to lash out more. Especially if Trump wins in 2020 and we end up with both the House and Senate.
On the other hand, our Constitutional judge Gorsuch… the world is so corrupt even if we win, will we win? Or will we only get more corruptocrats? Gorsush was supposed to be a Constitutionalist… at the time there were red flags that he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing but everybody insisted he’d be a reliably conservative judge because he is a Constitutionalist… everyone has been dancing the victory dance since Gorsuch and Kavanaugh were put in place… did someone slip Gorsuch some Leftist kool-aid? Was our victory dance a little premature? At one point we had the House, Senate and presidency but nothing good happened. If we win all three, will we finally see something good or will it be a repeat of 2016-2017? Somehow our world seems to resemble Gotham of the Dark Knight trilogy a little too closely. I’m not so sure that even if we win, we’ll actually win… we just won’t end up leaning quite as far Left if Biden wins but I’m not sure the pendulum will actually swing to the right.

This “hate crime” crap is ridiculous. Just arrest them for the crime they have committed such as rape, assault, robbery etc.. You can not read people’s mind or measure emotions. A murder is a murder. A rape is a rape. They are all “hate crimes” not love crimes. I am weary of tying EMOTION to everything.

This could be the way to get CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CNBC and others off the air(and in jail), because they attack supporters of President Trump every single day, and encourage violence and retribution against supporters of the President every day. Get them on charges inciting violence or what ever LAW applies. Keep the “hate” stuff out of it. Get them for slander or libel and if need be loosen up the laws on that. They should be held accountable for the lies they routinely publish. I believe there is a line between free speech and out right lyng, harrassment etc. and we need to stand on the law and cut the useless emotion out of it.
I understand where you are coming from – tit for tat… but haven’t you noticed it’s only a “hate crime” only when it measures up to liberal standards? That isn’t going to change. What if they insert imaginary “white privilege” That will nullify it. Using skin color is not going to level the playing field. It just puts another layer of needless emotion in it.
I want these ridiculous “hate crime” accusations gone! They have always been idiotic and ruling by emotion is NEVER, EVER wise. We need to end it and get back to an objective rule of law. Charge and rule by the crime and not the skin color. That is what works. To make things worse, they now want all black juries for a white on black crime. It’s becoming too skin color focused instead of on the crime committed. We need to hold the line on this but I doubt that we will. The smart approach, imo, would be to remove the “hate crime” label and just go by the crime.
I’ll use a hypothetical. What if I was a white drug addict, high on drugs, needed some money and robbed a liquor store. In the process, I got the the gun off a black clerk and shot him because he threatened me and I accidentally killed him. Is the death of a black man worth more than the death of a white man? If he had been a white man, would his death he less sad for those that cared about him than a black man? I think that insults the surviving victim’s family to suggest that and that is what hate crimes do. Isn’t a loss of a life the same regardless of skin color?
Remember I am not referring to ability. Ability will vary and you will have different outcomes. They want to change that too… but in this hypothetical, I am referring strictly to skin color. Should the death of a black man, based solely on skin color and an ASSUMED PREJUDICE be sadder than the death of a white man if it happened under the same circumstances? Don’t you see the direction this has been going?
Lady Justice wore a blindfold to avoid where we are headed….It’s not going to work out well and become more convoluted, more emotional and more racist. We are actually undoing our JUSTICE system by tampering with it like this.

Rusty, yes thanks. Pamela Geller has also published stories about that guy. And “Red-Green Axis” means ‘Communist – Muslim axis’, and that should be a warning to all those who claim that Communism and Islam are inherently incompatible ideologies.

Change of thread. Re Citrus Heights, California, arson attacks in Sungarden. Citrus Heights cops made two arrests and the suspects confessed to arson of 4 American flags flying from houses as reported earlier by GellerReport. The suspects are 15 and 17. Cops said 3 more suspects being hunted down and more arrests to follow over the next few days. Sources: Citrus Height Sentinel News, KNBR Radio 1530. I live a few miles east of Citrus Heights. There was a demonstration at Hazel and Greenback by the Wal Mart parking lot today by young Antifa types. Appeared to be teenagers, likely high schoolers. About a dozen of them. You couldn’t read their signs as they were poorly made.

Do the US Americans even know that the hopes and expectations of all free-thinking citizens of the world are on them?
Thanks God the majority of American citizens is well aware that nothing other than their will and power based on freedom, equality and fraternity guarantees the sheer existence of their country and the entire worlds free countries.
When the Christian and Occidental Western principles of the USA collapse, the door is wide open for evil – worldwide.
Under the current circumstances, even the smallest contribution to stabilizing our free western world is urgently needed.
The USA is based on human beings and by that not perfect – they need permanent improvements – nevertheless the USA and it’s citizens is, under the given circumstances, the most perfect entity the free Western world has to offer to fight evil.

Yes, true US patriots are keenly aware of this and relevant issues. This was carefully reinforced in me by my father in the 1970’s. He warned about the communist infiltration of the government and schools noting that the commies getting into the schools will taint the minds of the youth in just a few generations. We see these communist tenants now with all of the absurd abandonment of the principals that made this country great.
It boggles the mind to meet what you think are very smart people only to learn they are harboring these defective Liberal/Communist ideals, This is epidemic in the Liberal strongholds and once they bring in enough illegals or others that live off the dole to permanently swing the elections we are done. It is very sad to report that it is not if…but when we will be destroyed from within unless some very serious prosecutions for treason take place in the swamp and elsewhere, or we end up in civil war.

Are we to believe that current hate crime laws don’t apply to a particular group? What about the time when people on my side opposed the concept of “hate crime?” I am now forced to wonder whether their position was not based upon any principle. My support had such a basis and will continue, until I have reason to change my position.
Let’s be clear, if the current hate crime laws are NOT being enforced for CERTAIN victims, then on what basis can we expect the new legislation to be enforced on those specific victims?
We know the answer to that question.

typically I am against “hate” crimes because the premise is stupid. Is it a crime or not? Assault is assault and does not need a further classification. However in this case I agree. Give lefty some of his own medicine.
