Woman charged with attempted murder of 4 NYPD cops during protests

A woman was charged with the attempted murder of NYPD cops after hurling a Molotov cocktail into a marked, occupied police van in Brooklyn, authorities said.
Story continues below advertisementThe device did not ignite, and all of the officers got out of the van safely, police said.
Samantha Shader, 27, of Catskills, NY, tossed the incendiary device through a rear window of the van at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Washington Avenue around 10:40 p.m., police said.
Shader then allegedly bit an officer on the leg as she was taken into custody, police said. She faces four counts of attempted murder of a police officer, attempted arson, assault on a cop, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
Shader’s sister, Darian, 21, was also taken into custody after she tried to interfere with the arrest. She’s charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration, police said.
“We will NEVER tolerate this — EVER!” said Paul DiGiacomo, head of the Detectives Endowment Association, who slammed the sisters as “violent criminals.”
“In other incidents, cops were hit with bricks, brass knuckles, and bottles,” he said, promising that “in addition to ensuring the strongest possible criminal charges are filed against these vicious criminals, we will be bringing civil actions against any person who harms a Detective.”

Isn’t that a given? They book them, no bail and use the honor system to show up for a court date. It’s bizarre. Being anti white in NYC, they may make an exception for her and lock her up.

But of course they will deny involvement. One could just ask arrivals if they are headed for the riot zone, and refuse them entry to the city if they say yes. If they later turn up there arrest them on the spot.

We just have a different view. I prefer to see the guilty puished and not interrupt the lives of innocent people and punish them too.
I also don’t believe in punishing a class of students for the acts of a few misguided ones. That’s a common simple minded approach to a problem too.

Felix, it might be useful to actually attend a riot. There are NO ‘innocent’ active participants. There are usually large numbers of gawkers, who merely watch. But they are distinctly separate from the active participants. And of course, even the gawkers are wrong to stay. They impede the police action, they get injured in incidental events, and they implicitly support the rioters.
So to me, it is clear she was participant, and is therefore guilty of participating in a riot. Since MOST participants are paid, she was probably paid, no matter how innocent she looks in a photo. The rest is police work I will not comment on.

Felix: She is almost certainly a paid rioter; The mayor of St Paul said 100% of those arrested were from out of town. And she was arrested. And people don’t take a bus to riot on their own dime..
That mix of locals and professional rioters is common for Democrat-sponsored ‘riots’. The French called them “Agents provocateurs” and they still do that. They are agents who provoke trouble. Who actually shoots at cops, burns the police station, or breaks the windows to start the looting? The professional rioters do all that. That way, 10 busloads of rent-a-riot employees can vastly worsen a riot. So she was PAID to attack that cop.

100% of rioters from out of town is just not credible and wrong. It’s more like 20%. However crossing state lines to commit mayhem is a very serious Federal Crime and a Felony. It borders on sedition.

Exactly! All you have to do is look at tweets, videos and pictures. I don’t know the percentage of those who are black, instate or out of state but it is not just black people who live there or nearby.

I don’t know about that. In her other picture she looks like a spoiled white liberal. She looks decent in her other picture and has that smug look. She’s not in it for the money. She is thoroughly brainwashed.
I wouldn’t believe any progressive mayor blame shifting. He wants to keep his position and be voted in again. I bet he didn’t arrest too many of them either.
You would be surprised on what they are willing to spend to act out like this. SOROS doesn’t have to be the one paying for it. You have deranged white guilters willing to show how non racist they are ready to pay for others… This is not totally driven by outsiders or blacks. Other races are participating. Look at other pictures. There are allot of people involved in this for different reasons.

Photos lie. Attempted murder amidst a riot does not happen by chance, to innocent people who want a peaceful life. She had ample opportunity to leave the area, to help the cop, to report others who were violent, and she did none of that. Mere participation in a riot is a felony. ‘Nice looking’ is not exculpatory. Eichmann had nice baby pictures.

The pictures and videos are there and they are not doctored. They are LIVE. The time and date stamp isn’t doctored. It’s not just black people bussed in doing it. It’s white liberals too and they might even live there or nearby.
I never said because she looks decent she should be relieved of her criminal act. She was caught in the act. Hitler could have looked cute as a toddler too and I view him as vile.
