Twitter “Fact-Checks” President Trump’s Tweet For The First Time

4

Unbelievable. The “fact check” link is a response to President Trump correctly stating that Mail-In Ballots will cause massive voter fraud. The “fact checkers” are from Trump-hating media outlets such as CNN and the Washington Post. Ridiculous.

President Trump has promised to take action against Twitter for interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election, as well as stifling free speech. Now would be a good time, Mr. President.

Twitter Slaps Fact-Check Link On Donald Trump Tweet For The First Time

By Deadline, May 26, 2020

President Donald Trump accused Twitter of “interfering” in the 2020 election after it slapped a fact check link on his tweets claiming that mail in voting will lead to a “rigged election.”

He tweeted, .”@Twitter is now interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election. They are saying my statement on Mail-In Ballots, which will lead to massive corruption and fraud, is incorrect, based on fact-checking by Fake News CNN and the Amazon Washington Post. Twitter is completely stifling FREE SPEECH, and I, as President, will not allow it to happen!”

Twitter is a private platform that sets its own terms of service. But Trump has long accused it and other Silicon Valley platforms of bias.

The platform placed the link below a series of tweets that criticized the state of California for moving to mail-in voting. He has targeted other states as well.

His tweets now include a a message to “get the facts about mail-in ballots.” It then directs users to news articles analyzing Trump’s unsubstantiated claims about widespread voter fraud.

A Twitter spokesperson said: “These Tweets contain potentially misleading information about voting processes and have been labeled to provide additional context around mail-in ballots. This decision is in line with the approach we shared earlier this month.”

Twitter recently outlined a series of steps it has taken to flag misinformation about the coronavirus, including issuing labels for tweets that contain misinformation or disputed claims.

“Moving forward, we may use these labels and warning messages to provide additional explanations or clarifications in situations where the risks of harm associated with a Tweet are less severe but where people may still be confused or misled by the content,” wrote Twitter’s Yoel Roth and Nick Pickles. “This will make it easier to find facts and make informed decisions about what people see on Twitter.”

We, the People DEMAND that all voting be made IN PERSON unless you have PRE-APPROVAL for absentee ballot voting because you are an invalid, too old, or are in the Military!

AMERICANS SHOULD BE OUTRAGED BY DEMOCRATS WANTING ALL VOTING TO BE DONE VIA MAIL.
This is all UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

HERE is Trump’s Plan for Twitter
Private versus public is what this fight is about. Twitter says their communication medium is private, they own it, so free speech laws don’t apply. They can shut down anyone they like.I could be like Twitter if I had a company-owned phone system, and I said that staff cannot discuss politics on the business phones. It’s a private phone system, so I can regulate speech on that system. Fine, most of us accept that logic. But wait, the phone company can’t limit free speech! I can say whatever I want on my own phone. The phone company can’t stop me, or regulate what I say. Phone lines are considered a public service, and free speech is guaranteed. Even though a private phone company owns the phone system, phone communication is considered a public service. If the cops found out I was discussing a bank robbery on my phone, the cops can bust me for bank robbery. But the phone company can’t bust me.SO that’s how Trump could open up Twitter. Trump could declare Twitter to be a public service, that cannot control free speech there. Twitter could shut down bank robbery planning on Twitter, because that’s illegal. But they can’t shut down someone who Tweets, “I like Trump”, or, “I hate China”.If Trump pulls this off, it will revolutionize the Web. It will crash Big Tech’s attempts to control public communication.

It is about time the illegal actions of the social media companies be stopped, they have been helping liberal causes and hurting conservative causes while being shielded as being a neutral platform when they are not. Let them be allowed to be sued like every other organization that is not neutral but biased.
