NYPD Cop Brandishes Taser in Brutal Takedown … During Quarantine Bust

Things got out of hand in NYC this weekend, where a bunch of cops broke up a crowd — which ended up with a man being threatened with a taser and then beaten up.
Story continues below advertisementCheck out this video that was captured Saturday down in the East Village, where you see at least 4 plain-clothes officers yank a guy out of a building and throw him to the ground while people around them scream, and one woman insists the dude did nothing wrong.
While they’re dealing with him, another man approaches the ruckus from the street, only to be met by a lone cop who gets up and tells him to back up — brandishing his taser and even zapping it in what seems to be an effort to scare him. The guy didn’t back down.
That led to the officer taking him down, putting him in a bear hug … then slapping and punching him when he was on the ground. Another officer came over to help put cuffs on the bystander. Even more chaos ensues as the crowd grows and backup arrives.
NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea says this all started with a social distance infraction, which he says his cops were trying to break up. Now, this is being investigated by the department’s Internal Affairs unit … and one of the cops on video is on modified duty now.
Meanwhile, 3 people were arrested in the dust-up — including the 2 guys taken down by the NYPD as well as a woman who allegedly had her own stun gun on her.

On the flip side … the other side of town was also congregating en masse Saturday over in the West Village, but there weren’t too many signs of rowdy, physical break-ups like we see here. The NYPD says they issued dozens of summons over these social distance breakers too, but we haven’t seen video of any violence like these POC are experiencing.
They say coronavirus is disproportionately affecting minority communities, and that seems to be true from top to bottom.

I hope, but not confident of what is taking place. Democrat governors and mayors loving their authoritarian powers. Black, white, Hispanic – democrats do not care – POWER is what they crave, lust for. It quenches their pathetic insecurities. Like ALL authoritarian men and women throughout history.

My son is currently a Commander in the Navy down in Norfolk – soon to retire. I was
a Jet Engine Mechanic before I cross trained into the 377th Dispensary unit on Tan Son Nhut as a medic. I was out on the wing of a C-130 one day thinking that if Victor Charlie overran the base (which they did in 4/72 the Easter Offensive) my boss would not be coming out to pick me up, he’d be going the other way leaving me unarmed and alone out on the flight line. So I decided to take pre-emptive action to remove that possibility and I ended up in the hospital unit as a medic, in the air conditioning, and eating shrimp, lobster tail, and steak with the doctors every day! War is hell!

I’m with the cops here. The civilian was told to back off but continued to challenge the officer and got arrested. Cops are certainly overreaching here and there, but I’m not sure that this is the case here.

Yes, LEOS generally just do what the mayor tells them. Sheriffs are different, because they swear to uphold the Constitution as their core duty. The main problem is the social chaos that comes from random missives, edicts, laws, guidelines, and politico yelling matches. It would help if the police unions got involved and demanded clear enforcement guidelines.

Yes, you are right. I think of Sheriff Israel, the Democrat who was fired for his horrible behavior over that school shooting in Broward county Florida. What I mean is that the lines of allegiance and control are different between city police and Sheriffs. Whereas some sheriffs can and do contravene higher authorities, city police seldom do. E.g., the sheriffs in Virginia who are ignoring the new absurd gun laws.

Well, folks, I think the differing good cop, bad cop opinions tell the whole story quite accurately. Most cops are good cops, and they are usually able to control the bad ones. But when chaos hits, the bad cops have no control mechanisms, and the goon squad types finally get to pursue their despotic dreams. The German police had the same problem in the Nazi era.

I wonder how much $ the Federal Government might recover if it seized every D’s assets by force. The NYC subway and bus systems are jammed packed with commuters and bums where it is impossible to “social distance” resulting in by far the worse out break of this virus in our country. Yet the de-sh*tforbrains mayor only now is mandating that those subways and buses be cleaned every night. And that doesn’t actually start until the 6th!
And, of course, the story wouldn’t be complete without learning that libt**d cuomo actually ordered that those found to be infected be transferred to old folks homes. We know and he had to know that this cohort in old folks homes are the most vulnerable among us. He is guilty of sentencing them to death for his irresponsible actions.

Forbidding citizens from accessing public parks, beaches etc may be an infringement of civil liberties but openly flouting the orders to distance just reinforces govt’s point that people are irresponsible and reckless.
NYC’s infection rate and death rate is much higher than anywhere else in America. Roughly 12% of recorded Positives are DEAD ALREADY. That’s a fact. Conservatively, 10-20% of the people in the picture are already positive, a significant percentage consume drugs and or alcohol regularly and as a result may have a compromised immune system. Based upon the current data, it’s likely that 1-3% of the people in the picture may die within the next 1-12 months. Party on!!!

But I, for one, will try to avoid ALL interactions with the polizei! Luckily for me, I live in the CA desert, and the police here seem to be as scarce as hen’s teeth! Gov. Several states reopened last week.
Several more will open at least partially this week from the Fauci lockdown.
But Democrat-led Oregon is not one of them.
Oregon, a state with 4.14 million residents, did not reopen on Friday.
In fact, the liberal state is not reopening anytime soon.
Far Left Oregon Governor Kate Brown is extending the state’s lockdown until JULY 6th!

Oregon is ranked 40th in US coronavirus deaths. 40TH!
But there is even more troubling news coming from Oregon.
On April 22nd the state initiated a plan to remove children from foster homes if one of the parents comes down with coronavirus.
The state of Oregon will remove the children and place them with “sustitute care” if the parents are deemed unable to support them.
This law was actually published online on the Oregon Department of Human Services website.
It appears Oregon got this idea from WHO executive Michael Ryan.

Just wait until end times hit. Once the NWO comes into effect our lives will be like caged rabbits. We will have absolutely NO rights, NO freedoms and NO law to protect us from the global law that is to come. It’s scary and we will have no idea how bad it really will be until it seeps into our lives slowly but surely..day by day, year by year and generation by generation it will come to pass!
You see bits of it now and this generation are being brainwashed in day care, school, university’s and the workplace. We are programmed via TV and social media to follow the crowd, don’t question things and accept our controlling Governments laws and regulations set out to control us.
Unless we keep our eyes and ears open to the truth and keep fighting for our freedoms we have already lost the fight. God says he will win against the darkness of our world and with that we should have hope and the fire to keep fighting!

You almost have to feel sorry for atheists but I don’t. The eivdence of God is all around them. Their CHOICE is to defy logic and reason and REJECT Him and the obvious evidence. NYPD might want to follow the lead of the HPD (Houston PD) who ask people to conform with social distancing but will not issue silly citations or arrest “violaters.” As a result the vast majority conform. BTW restaurants and bars are opening this past weekend and life is quickly returning to normal.

Barr is not releasing violent and dangerous criminals.Most are people convicted of white collar crimes and way over sentenced or unjustly accused and convicted. There are thousands of them and justice is finally being done . This will free up space for the real criminals I pray Barr is about to send to prison.

I don’t blame Barr, but NO governor should have a right to release felons when there’s a lock down of hard working Americans!! Barr isn’t going to incarcerate ANYONE …

I continue to find it difficult to understand what so many Americans find troubling about unnecessary police use of electricity torture. Isn’t torture a basic right law enforcement has always had to use at their pleasure, at least since they were provided with the technology?
It must get annoying to deal with someone wriggling or mouthing off. Surely pumping thousands of volts of electricity into someone’s body is the least we can offer police officers to make their day a little less annoying or stressful.
And I’ve read the Constitution. Really. Didn’t see one word about Tasers.

NYC police will willingly endure buckets of “water” poured on them in the exercise of their duties as if nothing happened, but when Americans exercise their constitution rights, some of the cops turn into brutal thugs. Go figure. I think the American people don’t realize their own power. There are many more citizens than police officers. They have given up to the corrupt politicians and their equally corrupt enforcers. And I say this as a man who recognizes the importance of police officers and in normal circumstances gives them respect and cooperation.

Saw the video from the Lower East Side and was really disturbed by it. The officer involved has been placed on modified duty and an investigation has begun. The behavior I saw in that video is simply not acceptable.
