Killer Cuomo EXTENDS LOCKDOWN despite lowest hospitalizations since mid-March, de Blasio closes parks

The left is using the flu with a lower mortality rate than the seasonal flu (with a vaccine) to seize complete dictatorial control.

Starting this weekend, the city will limit capacity at Hudson River Park Piers 45 and 46, where the “configuration” lends itself to overcrowding. Expect an increased NYPD presence, de Blasio said. Domino Park will be closely monitored. Other parks could later see capacity limited.

  • Most vulnerable – elderly with co-morbidiites.

  • Not a threat to children.
  • Young people mostly asymptomatic.
  • Models were all wildly inaccurate.

Geoegia has been open for weeks. No mass death, no spike – as predicted by the fear pornographers and panic pushers.

NY ‘PAUSE’ Order Extended to June 6; New COVID-19 Hospitalizations Lowest Since Mid-March

By NBC News,  May 10, 2020:

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order Thursday allowing the state to extend the stay-at-home order until June 6, seemingly extending the order by nearly three weeks from the previously scheduled May 15 deadline.

Although the directive would extend current orders to close non-essential businesses, Cuomo’s office says regions of the state that meet the governor’s four core metrics in restricting the spread of the virus could open as soon as May 15; the first phase of reopening includes businesses in construction, manufacturing and retail with curb-side pickup.

“On Monday we said that those who hit their benchmarks on May 15 can begin the reopening process. For those who haven’t, the “PAUSE” has been extended until June 7,” Richard Azzopardi, spokesperson for the governor, said Saturday.

The governor had said for weeks he expected to allow his shutdown directive to expire after May 15 in some lesser-impacted parts of the state while extending it in others. In an interview on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” Thursday night, he indicated some regions would start to reopen “in about a week,” but didn’t offer any additional detail in his daily briefing the next day.

“When we get to May 15, I’ll lay out the numbers and we’ll say, ‘This is what the numbers say,'” Cuomo said when asked about the directive Friday. “There’s no doubt that this is a terrible period, but we have to get through it. If we make a mistake and we act too quickly the situation is only going to get worse and it’s only going to get longer.”

It seems likely that some northern and western parts of the state are ready to reopen, but there are still 21 New York zip codes whose COVID-19 numbers are still too high where the bulk of cases are located (and are disproportionately impacting communities of color).

“Upstate New York is dramatically different. We will talk about construction and manufacturing reopening upstate. Downstate I don’t see those numbers dramatically enough,” Cuomo said.

New York State reported 572 new hospitalizations on Saturday, the lowest number since mid-March, a sign of the state’s progress since flattening the curve. Total hospitalizations and intubations are steadily but slowly declining.

Despite the good news, Cuomo said the addition of 226 COVID-related deaths highlighted the state’s “infuriatingly constant” death toll. Saturday’s number of deaths reflected an average from the previous five days and matched the number reported back on May 3.

As of Saturday, New York state had confirmed 21,271 virus deaths, with Cuomo adding another 226 to the toll. New York City reports another 5,327 probable COVID-19 fatalities; those combined with the state’s 14,505 confirmed deaths in the five boroughs bring the city’s toll to nearly 20,000.

Conscious of the need to maintain progress, and witnessing setbacks in other states that have eased restrictions perhaps too aggressively, Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio are refining their containment strategies in accordance with emerging trends.

WHAT SETBACKS?

Still, one proven tactic will be the bedrock of their response for months to come: Social distancing. Warming weather makes that harder.

“This may be the single-hardest place to implement those kinds of strategies, for us to live in that way, and yet you have been doing in such amazing, impressive, extraordinary fashion,” de Blasio said Friday. “Never rest on your laurels. When you start winning, it’s time to double down.”

Starting this weekend, the city will limit capacity at Hudson River Park Piers 45 and 46, where the “configuration” lends itself to overcrowding. Expect an increased NYPD presence, de Blasio said. Domino Park will be closely monitored. Other parks could later see capacity limited.

The NYPD has been enforcing social distancing protocol for weeks and the mayor says the department will continue to do so, despite mounting criticism that likens police methods to “stop-and-frisk.” Newly released data from the Brooklyn district attorney’s office shows of the 40 people arrested for social distancing violations in the borough since mid-March, just one was white. Thirty-five were black, while four were Latino. All cases were dropped.

On Friday, the NYPD released fuller data that shows it issued 374 summonses for “violations of emergency procedures and acts likely to spread disease” citywide since March 16. Eighty-one percent of those went to black or Latino people.

De Blasio acknowledged some of the data and methods, including one arrest where a stun gun was used, was alarming. He said the city will keep improving training and protocols moving forward, but summonses and arrests may still be necessary at times.

The Sergeants Benevolent Association criticized the mayor’s social distancing policies on the grounds that they have no guidance on how to enforce the measures, union president Ed Mullins said in a letter to NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea.

“We have no clear idea how this new order is intended to be implemented, and foresee a repeat of the same enforcement difficulties we have already experienced, including a repeat of the allegations that my members have violated the civil rights of New Yorkers,” Mullins wrote in the letter. “To impute blame for racial disparity to the frontline officers attempting to enforce a vague and ambiguous Executive Order highlights our members’ concerns and is, quite frankly, offensive.”

Mullins said that ordering a person not causing a disturbance off a public street and threatening them with arrest for not wearing a mask can “destroy the community relations.” The union also expressed their unhappiness with being told to enforce a law they say the district attorneys are not prosecuting offenders for allegedly violating.

The SBA said it was that confusion that has led to some of the high-profile incidents regarding arrests in the city over the past few weeks.

“Job 1 is to save lives and enforcement is necessary to saving lives — and we’re not going to have proper enforcement without the largest, best police force in the country being in the game,” the mayor said. “So we’re going to do that, but we’re going to keep working to make it better literally every day.”

It’s social distancing to scale that has driven the change in curve for New York, he and Cuomo say, likely saving many lives. As the city and state look toward reopening, it will only be more important in helping keep the infection rate down. To help trace the new cases that do continue to spring up, de Blasio said that 7,000 people have signed up to be “disease detectives” and do contact tracing for those who test positive.

The biggest threat to the USA is a Democrat in the WH, and it’s obvious that the Democrats are trying to exploit a virus to take the WH.

Behind all this is a strange scenario where Democrats want to murder us, but they wouldn’t consider China a threat. If China is a threat to us, why would they not be a threat to Democrats? The only way that makes sense is if Democrats aren’t really Americans, and the USA is a common enemy of both Democrats and China. If that’s the case, who are the Democrats if China, as a new global super power, wouldn’t be a threat to them? China would be a threat to everyone if they were the biggest power on earth. Why would Democrats, no matter who they are or where they are from, think China wouldn’t be a threat to them if China took over the USA and all the resources here (including our vast oil and natural gas and coal supplies)? If the USA is ruined, how would China remain as rich as it is since we are their market? Would Europe replace the USA as the cash cow for China, and why would they? Europe is literally committing suicide. They have a bloodbath with the Muslims to deal with, and they’re not going to be looking so good when that’s over. Why would Europe think China wouldn’t be a threat to them if China became the premier power on earth? Europe doesn’t have a military worth spit because they rely on the US military. How would Europe defend itself against a new super power called China?

Democrats are part of a collective of central banks that sets its enemies up in fights so they cancel each other out. They are not loyal to the USA or to China. They don’t want the USA to survive, and that is clear. There is a long list of treasonous and destructive things attached to Democrats. The only way this weird scenario works is if Democrats are really Europeans, and if both China and the USA die, and the only way that can happen is if Democrats control our arsenal from the WH.

Why would any nation, like China, trust traitors from another nation? Why would China trust Democrats or Europeans? The rest of the world always murdered each other, so what would be different now if the USA was out of the way? Why would China release a virus it is working on in China, attracting the attention and scorn of the world, and creating anger and suspicion among its own population, to help a Democrat get in the WH? The Democrats are friends with China like the Democrats are friends with the people of their cities…they profit from them as they set them up to die.

The magic of enriching and enabling a natural enemy is that the enemy will behave as an enemy. Democrats have have sold so many secrets to China that China might think they can take us out, but I doubt it. What would Russia think about China taking over the resources of the USA? Why wouldn’t Russia try to take Alaska back to control the oil there if the USA was toppled? Why wouldn’t Democrats/Europeans feel threatened by a newly empowered Russia and China if the Democrats could no longer hide behind our arsenal and the Europeans could no longer rely on us to come running to their aid by NATO treaty?

The biggest threat to the USA right now is a Democrat in the WH, so I suppose we have to focus on that first, and then we can decide where the rest of the pieces fit later.

Just food for thought….

Cuomo is milking this power trip for all it’s worth. From his point of view, being on the safe side, perhaps he can drag this out for two years and be well positioned to run for president beginning in 2023. He’s got nothing to lose by being as safe as possible, everything to lose by being risky. Cuomolini 2024

The actual fatality numbers from Covid-19 never justified the shutdown and the models were always approximations. So why did the nationwide, worldwide shutdowns happen? IMO, because the experts in epidemiology actually know how lethal this virus is and the potential it has. They knew they had to do something. Fauci knew exactly what was going on in the laboratory in Wuhan and the threat it posed if it were released; he was friends with the leading scientist there. Maybe he even believed that funding them would result in better safety controls. Didn’t happen.

True, the first season of this pandemic has hit the elderly the hardest. I feel sad for all the people who did not get to see their parents and loved ones before they died. But there is nothing to prevent the virus from going after younger people in the next wave. That’s what happened in 1918. About 100K Americans died in the month of October, 1918, mostly younger adults. Of course we don’t talk much about that. Too gruesome and there is no way of knowing if history will repeat.

The country has to reopen. Will people accept the risk and live like warriors? Can you see that happening with our instagram influencers and the tiktok generation? LOL No way. But then again, who knows? … Our most recent folk hero is the owner of a beauty salon.

People talk about the 1918 pandemic, and yes it was horrible but there have been pandemics since, and it was not necessary to shut down the country. Do you think the economy should be shut down each time a pandemic occurs? It didn’t in 1957 nor in 1968. The wool has been pulled over people’s eyes.: https://www city-journal Org/1957-asian-flu-pandemic
and again in 1968: https://www reuters Com/article/uk-factcheck-woodstock-pandemic-1968/true-claim-woodstock-took-place-in-the-middle-of-a-pandemic-idUSKBN22J2MJ

What is different today that we need to shut down the country? Then as is today the elderly were the ones mostly dying from the flu.

It is time to open the whole country.

From what I’ve read the other pandemics were not as bad — for example, in the spring of 2009, the pandemic called H1N1 killed about 12K in the US. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/2009-h1n1-pandemic.html
It really wasn’t on the same scale as Covid, imo because it wasn’t manufactured in a laboratory.

I welcome discussions that are based on true information but you appear to be misinformed or just unwilling to do your research on the Spanish Flu of 1918.

Your first source link does not work: https://www city-journal Org/1957-asian-flu-pandemic

No, I know all about the Spanish Flu and it’s devastation. As nothing today can compare to it, I was only looking at 1957 and 1968. As you will note, I have ignored all of the flus between 1968 and 2019.

The links don’t work for you because I have left out the . and have capitalized the o in org. A lot of websites will not post a link unless I do so. I would have thought with your knowledge, you would have been able to see what was missing and correct it in order to make it work.

Why not just repost the URL’s since you now know this site does accept links instead of insulting me? PS– I didn’t see all the little alterations, just some. So I have read the https://www city-journal Org/1957-asian-flu-pandemic link and see a completely anecdotal story which has no informative value from a scientific point of view. It’s asking a question and not bothering to investigate the answer, as if that is sufficient. The argument you also are making is based on the assumption that all pandemics have been exactly the same, and yet you claim you know that 1918 was much worse. So even though you know they are not all the same you are still claiming they are the same. That makes no sense. Think about it. Do you the same results as what happened in 1918? We lost about 600K — is that fine with you?

You asked the same question as the writer of the article and also didn’t bother to investigate an answer. Why not? All you have to do is look, you’ve got an internet connection and a computer just like I have. I’ve provided a couple of links which indicate the differences between COVID-19 and what happened in 1957 and 1968.

Here’s a link with info on the 1968 pandemic h3n2 which somewhat answers your question. “Because H3N2 was closely related to the 1957 pandemic, many people were immune. This kept the 1968 H3N2 flu epidemic relatively mild, especially when compared to the 1918 Spanish flu.” https://www.biospace.com/article/the-1968-pandemic-strain-h3n2-persists-will-covid-19-/

As you may recall when Covid-19 started it was reported as a “novel” coronavirus which meant it is a totally new virus and no one anywhere had any immunity to it. All the scientists knew was that it is transmitted extremely easily. (unlike HIV for example which takes real effort to contract) Thanks to our media that aspect of the virus being novel is no longer discussed as the whole topic of where this thing started and how it came into being is under wraps.

Here’s more info on the H1N1 which explains that in that case there were anti-virals which were immediately identified. That has not happened in the case of Covid-19. So your question actually should be how did this monster virus come about? https://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/cdcresponse.htm

Covid mortality rate is about 10X that of seasonal flu. The numbers have changed and vary with country but now the estimate for Covid is 1% and flu is .1%.

There is no vaccine for Covid and no anti-virals.

The pandemic has shut down nearly all the countries in the world, not just the US. Italy, Spain, France, the UK have been devastated.

Sweden decided to go with herd immunity and allow the virus to spread and now has a death rate more than 4X their neighbors.

On another note, unlike Geller who pretends to be a supporter and Jim Hoft who is batshit crazy, I trust President Trump is intelligent and has the welfare of the USA foremost in his thinking. He is not the victim of the Chinese Communist Party, the WHO, or Drs. Fauci and Birx. The last thing Trump would do is shut down the economy for no reason. Trump is not a moron.

Hint to officers charged with enforcing unconstitutional executive orders that infringe on our liberties and confused about how to enforce those unconstitutional laws… you don’t enforce them. There’s a reason why some AGs aren’t prosecuting executive order violations… if they did and it is taken to a higher court, they’ll lose…. because they are fundamentally unconstitutional. So don’t be a jerk and use force enforcing unconstitutional laws.
