NY Attorney General James to review NYPD actions at Brooklyn protest

WATCH: NYC Burns, NYPD Vehicles Set Ablaze, Crazed Protesters, Violent Riots, Mayor de Blasio Says “I See My Own Privilege And Understand So Much”

The NYPD put their lives on the line every day to protect the people of New York City, and they tolerate unbelievable levels of abuse from rioters, and they work for a pro-criminal mayor.  Yet they are the ones who are being investigated by the attorney general of the state of New York. It’s a disgrace. Why would anyone want to be a cop in New York City right now?

Attorney General James to review NYPD actions at Brooklyn protest

State Attorney General Letitia James will lead a swift, independent investigation into the NYPD’s actions while responding to Friday night’s wild protest outside Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said during his daily press briefing Saturday that he and Mayor Bill de Blasio agreed on an independent review into the scuffles between police and protesters on May 29. More than 3,000 people attended the protests and over 200 of them were arrested.

Multiple videos surfaced in news reports and social media of police and protesters squaring off with one another. Demonstrators hurled objects at cops, and officers were seen shoving some individuals to the ground or restraining them.

Cuomo expressed confidence in James to conduct an impartial investigation that will “review all the facts, police procedures and the crowd’s actions.” He asks James to complete it within 30 days.

“[James] is an independently elected official in New York state,” Cuomo said. “She has proven herself confident and capable of being independent, and we’re going to ask her to take a short period of time to review last night and do a report to the public. Let’s see what we can learn.”

Speaking about the protest itself, Cuomo sympathized with those outraged by the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. He said he shared the outrage of the protesters and others who were appalled by the incident, the latest in a series of deadly injustices in America over the past 30 years.

“This started with Rodney King, that was 30 years ago. We suffered in this city with Abner Louima, Amadou Diallo, Sean Bell, Eric Garner,” Cuomo said. “How many times have we seen the same situation? Yes, the names change — but the color doesn’t, and that is the painful reality of this situation. And it’s not just 30 years, it is this nation’s history of discrimination and racism dating back hundreds of years.”

Yet Cuomo stressed that “violence is not the answer” in ending racial injustice in America.

“It is counterproductive because the violence then obscures the righteousness of the message and the mission, and you lose the point in response,” he added. “It allows people who choose to scapegoat to point to the violence rather than the action that created the reaction. The violence allows people to talk about the violence as opposed to honestly addressing the situation that incited the violence.”

Cuomo said he had confidence de Blasio and NYPD leadership, cognizant of Friday’s events, would work Saturday to ensure they won’t be repeated going forward. But he didn’t weigh in with an opinion of reports about any specific NYPD actions Friday, saying he would wait for the information gathered by James’ report.

de Blasio Says “I See My Own Privilege And Understand So Much”

He is a woke-libtard-global-socialist with no friggin’ clue… and Cuomo is even worse. The anarchists are escalating the situations in cities across the nation and these dipsticks are playing politics while rioters are facing off against law enforcement. This is not about fairness, equality or even the life taken in Minneapolis…

“ Cuomo expressed confidence in James to conduct an impartial investigation that will “review all the facts, police procedures and the crowd’s actions.” He asks James to complete it within 30 days.”

Really? A governor with a working leadership compass would shut this “investigation” down before it starts. Why is NYS spending money that it doesn’t have on an investigation, the sole purpose of which appears to find something, not to the AG’s liking, that the NYPD or its individual officers did during emergency riot situations, Then she could waste further tax dollars on bogus prosecutions and further investigations and make it seem that she is doing something constructive.

And does it matter to Cuomo, or DeBlasio (who discriminated against Orthodox Jews attending a funeral), that these rioters were not wearing masks or distancing themselves from one another? Of course not.

These riots sure took the spotlight off of Cuomo who killed many in nursing homes by forcing them to take contagious COVID-19 patients.

On another topic, the Supreme Court, with traitor Roberts on the side of tyranny, reshaped The Constitution to eliminate an important protection that we have to freely practice the religion of our choice. What don’t five justices of the Court understand about “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” or Cantwell v. Connecticut, 310 U.S. 296 (1940), (a unanimous opinion, incorporating the First Amendment’s free exercise of religion clause against the states (through the 14th Amendment))?

At some point, the s**t will really hit the fan, and riots, looting, and lack of law and order, egged on by by left wing nut politicians, will result in civil armed skirmishes, whereby the armed citizenry puts an end to riots and looting. If we have another civil war in this country, the number of its deaths will swamp those caused by COVID-19, and it will have a grossly disproportionate effect on the inner cities and the Antifa types that support them.

Unbelievable! NY state has gone to the dogs, literally. They don’t want to “investigate” the riots and arson and the looting–oh, no–let’s investigate the NYPD for trying to stop it, instead! The (D) party has become a curse on America. Every state befouled by (D)s in office is at risk if not doomed. Everywhere you look these crooks and criminals in the (D) party are rewarding the lawless and punishing the law-abiding. To vote (D) is to vote for your own demise.
