Rep. Rashida Tlaib Tweets Support for BLM ‘Defund Police’ Across America Petition

“Know that it’s still both, but don’t let the “who” overshadow the decades of structural racism that has created the system that allows police officer after police officer off the hook for murder. I just want us to dig deeper so that the #DefundPolice movement isn’t brushed aside,” Tlaib tweeted after an earlier post about the “what” is more important than the “who” in the death of George Floyd who died in police custody on Memorial Day in Minneapolis.
“Too many folks are confused when they hear we need to #DefundPolice. I ask you to engage in this debate with an openness. There is real validity in dismantling the current racist system that has led to this pain.” Tlaib tweeted.

The petition on the Black Lives Matter website states:
Enough is enough.
Our pain, our cries, and our need to be seen and heard resonate throughout this entire country.
We demand acknowledgment and accountability for the devaluation and dehumanization of Black life at the hands of the police.
We call for radical, sustainable solutions that affirm the prosperity of Black lives.
George Floyd’s violent death was a breaking point — an all too familiar reminder that, for Black people, law enforcement doesn’t protect or save our lives. They often threaten and take them.
Right now, Minneapolis and cities across our country are on fire, and our people are hurting — the violence against Black bodies felt in the ongoing mass disobedience, all while we grapple with a pandemic that is disproportionately affecting, infecting, and killing us.
We call for an end to the systemic racism that allows this culture of corruption to go unchecked and our lives to be taken.
We call for a national defunding of police. We demand investment in our communities and the resources to ensure Black people not only survive, but thrive. If you’re with us, add your name to the petition right now and help us spread the word.
The Click on Detroit website reported on Sunday that 84 people were arrested in downtown Detroit and that most were not residents of the city:
A majority of the protesters live in communities outside Detroit. The Detroit Police Department says only 21 of the 84 protestors live in Detroit. Two of the protesters arrested live outside Michigan and are from Ohio and Tennessee.
On Friday night, 60 protestors were arrested with the majority also from neighboring communities. In addition to the arrests, police vehicles were damaged Friday night.
According to Detroit Police Chief James Craig, that number includes 15 women and 45 men. Of the men arrested only 17 were from the city of Detroit. Only 6 of the women arrested were from Detroit.

Exile her. Just as Egypt did with Yasser Arafat. Let her stir up things in a muslim country. Lets see how long she would last. Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Iran sounds like choice destinations. Hope she brings a nice black head covering with one hole for one eye if she wants to stay out of trouble.
In most muslim countries Blacks are considered, even if muslim, as sub-humans worthy only of slavery. And here she is, a supporter of Black Lives Matter; if they are against the US, then she if for them.

What Kamala doesn’t like talking about as she demands compensation for Blacks, whether or not their ancestors were slaves, is that her great grandfather back in Jamaica owned 81 registered slaves. When will this financially well off woman pay compensation to the descendants of those 81 slaves? Isn’t this her family’s disgrace and her duty to put her money where her mouth is.

I wonder how many police have been killed or injured by black people this year? Last year’s figures: 07/02/2019 · In 50 weeks, 38 officers have been shot and killed in the line of duty in 2019.(doesn’t say whether Black or white killers) Any riots in support of the police? Zero.
Maybe there are higher numbers of black criminals/ % of the population.
How long would someone last, if he held up a sign saying “White Lives Matter!” ?

So… here we have a bunch of lawlessness… the police, who are told to stand down so their presence, other than being someone to scream at, is not protecting the law abiding citizens. Maybe we should defund them and then hire somebody who will uphold the law? Oh wait, it was the Leftist mayors who decided that allowing lawlessness would be a good idea who told the law enforcement to stand down and their PC police chiefs who agreed that was a good idea.
So, what we are actually seeing is what happens when there is no police presence… if you like looting and lawlessness, by all means defund the police. If you want your police to actually protect law abiding citizens, perhaps it is time to get rid of those weak Leftist mayors and PC police chiefs who think they can solve the problem by not arresting law breakers.
On the other hand, when the police can’t even protect their precinct building, how are we supposed to believe they can protect us? And they aren’t protecting us so why should we trust them with our protection? In 1992, it was armed Korean shop owners and supporters who were able to protect their lives and livelihoods… they were armed. And today, armed citizens are protecting their lives and livelihoods. Then there are fools trying to protect themselves and their shops with bare hands or a golf club, as if that will do anything to deter a mob, who are getting assaulted. It seems to me a pretty simple choice… be armed and protect yourself or be a victim and hope to survive. I’d rather be armed. The firearm is a great force equalizer. And if you train with your firearm, you probably have an advantage over a thug even if they have a firearm because they probably don’t train.
