CDC Equates Coronavirus Hospitalizations To Seasonal Flu, Not Dangerous for Children

8

The level of misinformation and disinformation is deeply troubling. The continuing shutdown of our country is the biggest mistake in American history. The more data and science makes that clear and shows Coronavirus to be much like a seasonal flu, the more Democrat Governors and Mayors take tyrannical steps and extend lockdowns into summer.

What’s their endgame?

Two CDC Websites Give Vastly Different Coronavirus Death Tolls

There It Is: CDC Equates Coronavirus Hospitalizations To Seasonal Flu And Finally Admits It’s Much Less Dangerous For Children

By Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit, May 2, 2020:

In late February, nearly a month after President Trump banned travel from China to the United States in January, the CDC terrorized Americans by claiming the Wuhan coronavirus had a mortality rate of 2.3% at its epicenter.

The CDC compared the coronavirus mortality rate of 2.3% to the seasonal flu mortality rate of 0.1%.

Two weeks later WHO leader, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, sparked a global panic when he claimed the COVID-19 had a 3.4% mortality rate and then compared that number to the annual estimated seasonal flu mortality rate of 0.1%.

These irresponsible and completely inaccurate statements led to the greatest economic crash since the Great Depression.

30 million Americans are currently unemployed due to the crisis and the number is growing each week. Now this…

On Friday the CDC equated the Wuhan coronavirus to the seasonal flu.

The COVID-19 hospitalization rates are “similar to” those in the 65 and older category during “recent high severity influenza seasons.”

And the COVID-19 hospitalizations for children 17 and under is MUCH LOWER than the seasonal flu hospitalization rates during recent influenza seasons.

The COVID-19 is LESS DANGEROUS to children than a typical influenza!

GOOD NEWS! The Worldwide Covid-19 Worry is Declining
This graph shows worldwide Google searches for the terms Coronavirus, Covid and Trump, for the last 90 days. These are very high search rates, worldwide, that dwarf Trump and Kim Kardashian searches. By May 3, interest/worry for Coronavirus + Covid had dropped to about 40% of the peak levels, but that is still very high compared to typical Googles searches.comment image
When public interest in a topic increases, searches increase, and Covid-19 is mainly about worry. Thus, when we see decreases, the worry is decreasing. Kim Kardashian searches are a good baseline, because people never seem to lose interest in good old Kim Kardashian. Reply to this comment for more info.

I’m in favor of cautiously opening the economy in states and counties where the infection rate is very low. I’m in favor of young and healthy people getting back to work while older and vulnerable people stay at home. I am appalled by draconian scenes of policeman entering yeshivas to threaten rabbis who are observing social distancing and wearing masks.

I’m also surprised and disappointed to see GR be so dishonest about the medical reporting. From the posted screen shot: “Hospitalization rates for COVID-19 in adults (18-64 years) are higher than hospitalization rates for influenza at comparable time points during the past 5 influenza seasons.” So how can the headline, “CDC Equates Coronavirus Hospitalizations To Seasonal Flu” be true? It’s not at all, unless you define “higher than” as equivalent. Deliberate lying or stupidity? IDK

So what if you don’t care about large numbers of people dying and struggling with damaged lungs, at least be honest about your personal opinions and why you have them. But don’t claim that COVID is just like the flu and then distort or edit out factual information to justify your position. Honestly I thought you were better than that.

The lesson is that the WHO and the MSM and Democrat Party exploited a pandemic for political power. The sole focus of the Democrat Party is political power, at any expense to anyone.

Yes, the genteel term is “Party Always Comes First”, but this is just a cover for classic tyrant culture, where the tyrant and his oligarch power circle grab all the power and money, and subjugate the citizenry [e.g., Detroit.]. For tyrants and their power circle, “Party Always Comes First”.
Aristotle’s simple way to divide up good and bad governments was that good governments work to benefit the citizenry, and bad governments work to benefit the selfish interests of the leader and his power circle. That’s why we like Trump, because he is working hard to benefit the US citizenry. We oppose Democrats because they have never, in their history, ever put the citizenry above the Democrat Party.

“The continuing shutdown of our country is the biggest mistake in American history.”

Since you use the word “continuing,” I agree that the shutdown must end. Intelligently but in earnest. Continuing with that or our near-martial law would very likely do more ultimate harm than SARS-CoV-2 could manage, even with a higher short-term body count. Sadly. (I presume the marked hyperbole represented by “the biggest mistake in American history” is intentional.)

“The level of misinformation and disinformation is deeply troubling.”

Agreed. And though it may be difficult to believe, I do not mean the following as an insult. It is a statement of fact that matters because, as you appear to agree, misinforming people can be terribly irresponsible. Here goes.

You are contributing the the misinformation. Dangerously.
