UPDATED: Two CDC Websites Give Vastly Different Coronavirus Death Tolls
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday updated their coronavirus tracking numbers, leading to confusion on social media about two websites within the organization that show vastly different death tolls.
The CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) website for the coronavirus lists the total deaths from COVID-19 – the disease caused by the virus – as 37,308 in the United States. That’s a much lower number than what has been reported in the media or by other coronavirus trackers. For example, the Johns Hopkins University coronavirus tracker, lists the number of COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. at 65,645.
Story continues below advertisementEven more confusing, a separate CDC website – dedicated exclusively to the novel coronavirus – lists the total COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. as 64,283. The NCHS website was updated on May 1, while the CDC’s coronavirus-specific website says it was updated on May 2.
The discrepancy seems to be an issue of how the data relating to deaths was coded at the state level, that is, what the cause of death on a death certificate says. The NCHS website lists 37,308 total deaths from death certificates listing COVID-19 as the cause, which includes COVID-19 as the presumed cause of death. The CDC gives some explanation why the NCHS data may be different from other reported numbers (emphasis original):
Provisional death counts may not match counts from other sources, such as media reports or numbers from county health departments. Our counts often track 1–2 weeks behind other data for a number of reasons: Death certificates take time to be completed. There are many steps involved in completing and submitting a death certificate. Waiting for test results can create additional delays. States report at different rates. Currently, 63% of all U.S. deaths are reported within 10 days of the date of death, but there is significant variation among jurisdictions. It takes extra time to code COVID-19 deaths. While 80% of deaths are electronically processed and coded by NCHS within minutes, most deaths from COVID-19 must be coded manually, which takes an average of 7 days. Other reporting systems use different definitions or methods for counting deaths.
The CDC’s coronavirus website does not include the same explanation, though it does mention state and local public health officials:
CDC does not know the exact number of COVID-19 illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths for a variety of reasons. COVID-19 can cause mild illness, symptoms might not appear immediately, there are delays in reporting and testing, not everyone who is infected gets tested or seeks medical care, and there may be differences in how states and territories confirm numbers in their jurisdictions.
State and local public health departments are now testing and publicly reporting their cases. In the event of a discrepancy between CDC cases and cases reported by state and local public health officials, data reported by states should be considered the most up to date.
The CDC did not immediately return a Daily Wire request for information about the discrepancy. This post will be updated if and when that information is received.

They’ve separated out other illnesses that were the actual causes of deaths and now the mortality rate is half of what it was last week.

Actor-Producer Kevin Sorbo is urging Americans to “Wake up” and see the dangers and hypocrisy of how “the State” is exploiting the coronavirus pandemic to grab power and limit freedom.
In a series of Sunday tweets, Sorbo (@KSorbs) warns that “it’s not about your health,” when the government tells citizens they can go to the store to buy one thing, but not another – or actually does the very thing it’s prohibiting.
Likewise, Sorbo says, it’s not about your health when the State says it’s too dangerous for you to walk in the park with your child, then puts dangerous criminals back on the street – or, when it tells you it’s safe to go in-person to a grocery store, but not to a voting station:

Hal: Yeah, they stink too. Suicides are embedded in the all-causes mortality counts. After taking out Covid-19 and flu/cold deaths, the remainder is high, suggesting that suicides have increased since January.

From the very start of this, fear was the tool to put voting by mail in place. A high body count creates fear. They pushed for the highest possible actual body count, and also probably fudged the numbers to bump up the body count even more.
They were forced to help extinguish their own fire. Mitigation efforts were successful.
They still need voting by mail, and fear of a contagious disease is the way to get it.They need round 2 in the fall, and they need it to be much worse than round 1. Mitigation efforts dulled round 1 so they need to paint mitigation efforts as an unnecessary fraud. The need to discredit the voices that prevented a nightmare and called for mitigation efforts. They need the population to defy future efforts to control a contagious disease so when another one pops up like magic no one will believe it is real until it is too late.
I don’t exclude any possibilities. I suggest a possibility that may be overlooked. The CDC doesn’t change the numbers on their site until the afternoon, so I question these new numbers that appear to be from the site I look at every day. Right now it shows 62,406 as the death toll, so where did they come up with this new number? This reeks of a disinformation campaign.

The way the numbers are fudged is standard policy, but they probably went a little over the top on purpose …. to get caught doing it.

A friend of mine looks at the CDC website everyday. He called me Friday night saying the numbers on the site had been cut in half from Thursday. Maybe they changed them back on Saturday. But they did cut them in half on Friday.

I’ve been looking at that site more than once every day, from day 1. That’s why I was waiting for the daily update, and saw the new data within a few minutes of the update.
I don’t believe anything in the media. I don’t believe anything from most sources because the “experts” who control our information seem to be (are) a collective of liars. That doesn’t mean all information is wrong. Even if some of the numbers were fudged, it doesn’t mean the inaccuracy is so overwhelming that all the information should be tossed out as a fraud. Getting caught fudging numbers on purpose would be a way to make people think the whole data set is a fraud. The people behind this understand the distrust that has grown over time, and they understand the distrust they have planted on purpose, and they use both against us.

It is a highly infectious disease BUT the fatality rate was exaggerated and mostly affects older people and people with compromised health. This is common with most flu like diseases. Now we see the real face of the Chinese virus. When it started we didn’t know that… FAUCI and Birx presented a catastrophic picture. The jig is up!

From what I remember, the principle diagnosis on a medical records chart is the chief reason for the persons admission. That is not necessarily the cause of death. Example: a person comes in with hip pain, xrays show a broken hip, develops pneumonia and dies. The principle dx would be the broken hip but the cause of death is pneumonia and if put on a vent, the payment to the hospital goes up. Also, suspected conditions can be coded as occurring. Example: chest pain, r/o MI. The MI is the principle dx if nothing else is proven. Patient dies, MI is also cause of death. I also read WHO just assigned a new codes specific to this virus, a.identified and b.presumed. Are all patients with symptoms being tested? Or are they just “presumed” as New “symptoms” keep being added.

I originally saw this from another source, which took it from I believe Alex Jones, who claimed to have got it right from the CDC web site. I went to the CDC dot Gov site myself and found the claim to be false, the numbers there were still 67 thousand and change, not the 37 thousand that was stated like here. Not sure where this is coming from, but if you go to the CDC site, you will see the 67 thousand that they have been pushing all along. They have not changed it for a lower number….

The COVID data that is being reported is GARBAGE and grossly overstated in a deliberate move to place more political pressure on Trump:

COVID-19 should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death. First note that the report was released May 1 but included cases through 4/25. Then note there are two COVID 19 related columns, “COVID-19 Deaths” and “Deaths with pneumonia and COVID-19”. Add those to columns and you get the same as other reports on April 25ths. There is nothing to see here. It is excitement over nothing due to not reading the graph headings accurately.
