Trump criticized the Senate and House for holding “phony” pro forma sessions, instead of adjourning, which prevents him from making recess appointments.

“If the House will not agree to that adjournment, I will exercise my constitutional authority to adjourn both chambers of Congress,” Mr. Trump said. “The current practice of leaving town while conducting phony pro forma sessions is a dereliction of duty that the American people cannot afford during this crisis. It is a scam, what they do.”
Citing Michael Pack’s renomination as CEO of the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) and other nominations not acted on by the Senate, President Trump vowed to unilaterally adjourn both the House and Senate and make recess appointments.
Multichannel: The Senate (and House) customarily hold pro-forma, gavel in, gavel out, sessions while it is not in session to prevent recess appointments by the President.
But in his COVID-19 press conference, the President complained about Senate inaction on his nominees.

He picked Pack’s renomination as example of one needlessly held up. USAGM oversees Voice of America, which Trump attacked during the press conference. He said what was coming out of VOA was “disgusting.”
He complained that the Senate had exited until early May and how the pro-forma sessions in the interim had prevented him from using his recess appointment authority.
He said if the Senate did not vote or formally adjourn, he would adjourn both the Senate and House, saying the pro forma sessions were “a phony dereliction of duty.” He said maybe no one had ever done that before, but he was going to do it.
Trump said some of the nominees could be dealing with the pandemic if they were installed and that the country could not afford that inaction during a crisis.

President Trump threatened to adjourn Congress if the Senate fails to approve scores of nominees for key positions.
During his regular White House briefing on the novel coronavirus on Wednesday he railed against the “partisan” obstructionism he said had held up 129 appointments who could all be helping in the virus response.
He called on senators to vote on the nominees or adjourn so that he could make recess appointments.
“It’s always roadblocks or a waste of time,” he said. “If the House will not agree to that adjournment, I will exercise my constitutional authority to adjourn both chambers of Congress.”
“The current practice of leaving town while conducting phony pro forma sessions is a dereliction of duty that the American people cannot afford during this crisis,” he said.
“It is a scam what they do,” Trump said.

BOOM! Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts said on Wednesday during the Coronavirus Task Force press briefing that U.S. officials have “high confidence” that the coronavirus leaked from a lab in Wuhan. Direct quotes from press conference, April 15 2020:
John Roberts to Trump:
“Multiple sources are telling Fox News today that the United States government now has high confidence that while the coronavirus is a naturally occurring virus, it emanated from a virology lab in Wuhan, and that because of lax safety protocols, an intern was infected who later infected her boyfriend, and then went to the wet market in Wuhan where it began to spread. Does that correspond to with what you have heard from officials?”
Trump:
“Well, I don’t want to say that John, but I will tell you, more and more we’re hearing the story and we’ll see. When you say multiple sources, now there’s a case where you can use the word ‘sources.’ But we are doing a very thorough examination of this horrible situation that happened.”

And then the ChiComs let the virus spread rapidly in Wuhan, creating a pool of infected cases. After that they let the infected people flee to other countries: “China moved quickly to shut down travel domestically from Wuhan to the rest of China, but did not stop international flights from Wuhan.” THAT ACTION WAS BIO-WARFARE.

I well recall that Mexico was closing colleges and quarantining dormitories. Of course that was well into the Mexican Swine Flu pandemic.
Yet, Mexico did NOT stop thousands upon THOUSANDS of Mexican illegal aliens, crossing into the U.S. And, Mexico’s actions such as that, was responsible for the loss of Sixty Thousand American lives.
THAT ACTION WAS BIO-WARFARE.

The CDC and the National Institutes of Health [NIH] have done dumb virus things. The NIH funded the Wuhan lab bat virus research! They pulled funding in 2016 because a lab staff member died there, from inadequate infection controls. Fauci approved that research, and it was key in finding a bat virus that would infect people directly, with no other animal intermediary.

I agree, it’s hard to believe that the expert who is supposed to fix the epidemic in the US was involved in starting the epidemic. But Fauci did do that, and in 2017, he did predict a big epidemic.

Those H1N1 pigs in Mexico may have come from China. Stock breeders trade worldwide.
One reason the H1N1 swine flu of 2009 was considered risky was because the Spanish Flu was also an H1N1 virus. These things mutate, and although the 2009 version of H1N1 was a different variant, it was conceivable that it could cause high mortality. But Obama, the CDC, and the WHO did very little to stop it.

Highly unlikely. Swine produced in China, don’t have the genetics of the U.S. herd (which breeds are raised by Smithfield in Mexico). Amount of lean muscle mass, size, and rate of gain, of Chinese pigs, ain’t anywhere close to what packers want.
