Pope Francis Says Pandemic Is ‘Nature’s Response’ to Human Inaction over Climate Change

Story continues below advertisementROME — Pope Francis said he believes the Chinese coronavirus pandemic is “certainly nature’s response” to humanity’s failure to address the “partial catastrophes” wrought by human-induced climate change.
Asked by British journalist Austen Ivereigh whether the COVID-19 crisis is an opportunity for an “ecological conversion,” the pontiff reasserted his belief that humanity has provoked nature by not responding adequately to the climate crisis.
“There is an expression in Spanish: ‘God always forgives, we forgive sometimes, but nature never forgives,’” Francis said in the interview published Wednesday. “We did not respond to the partial catastrophes. Who now speaks of the fires in Australia, or remembers that a year and a half ago a boat could cross the North Pole because the glaciers had all melted? Who speaks now of the floods?”
“I don’t know if it is nature’s revenge, but it is certainly nature’s response,” he added.
“Every crisis contains both danger and opportunity: the opportunity to move out from the danger,” he said. “Today I believe we have to slow down our rate of production and consumption and to learn to understand and contemplate the natural world.”
Late last month the pope expressed this same belief to a Spanish journalist, insisting that the coronavirus pandemic is nature’s cry for humans to take better care of creation.
Asked whether the COVID-19 pandemic is nature’s way of taking “revenge” on humanity, the pontiff suggested that nature is calling for attention.
“Fires, earthquakes … nature is throwing a tantrum so that we will take care of her,” he said.
Last December as well, the pope said that natural disasters such as a massive storm that struck northern Italy in the fall of 2018 are nature’s way of sounding an alarm to make us more environmentally engaged.
“These are events that frighten us,” Francis said. “They are alarm signals that creation sends us, which summon us to immediately take effective decisions to safeguard our common home.”
In 2015, Francis became the first pope in history to devote an entire encyclical letter to the issue of care for the environment, in which he decried human exploitation of nature.
The earth “now cries out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her by our irresponsible use and abuse of the goods with which God has endowed her,” Francis wrote. “We have come to see ourselves as her lords and masters, entitled to plunder her at will. The violence present in our hearts, wounded by sin, is also reflected in the symptoms of sickness evident in the soil, in the water, in the air and in all forms of life.”
“Now, faced as we are with global environmental deterioration, I wish to address every person living on this planet,” the pope continued, comparing the ecological crisis to the nuclear crisis of the Cold War era.
Francis has also tended to personalize nature, suggesting that it “cries out” when it is mistreated.
Situations such as a loss of biodiversity and economic inequality “have caused sister earth, along with all the abandoned of our world, to cry out, pleading that we take another course,” he wrote. “Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last two hundred years.”
Since then, the pope has become one of the most vocal opponents of global warming, urging “drastic measures” to combat “a climate emergency that gravely threatens nature and life itself.”
“Too many of us act like tyrants with regard to creation,” he declared. “Let us make an effort to change and to adopt more simple and respectful lifestyles!”
“Now is the time to abandon our dependence on fossil fuels and move, quickly and decisively, towards forms of clean energy and a sustainable and circular economy. Let us also learn to listen to indigenous peoples, whose age-old wisdom can teach us how to live in a better relationship with the environment,” he said.
Francis has also scolded political leaders for their half-hearted response to the climate crisis, suggesting that their “weak” resolve in cutting emissions reveals a lack of political will.

It couldn’t possibly be that a Chinese governmental military bio/virology laboratory that is located on the outskirts of Wuhan was experimenting with bat coronavirus to give it the means to infect human cells by monkeying with the surface “spike proteins?” Could it? All the concrete evidence (RNA sequencing of the virus’s genome) seems to point in that direction. Ascribing to nature a ‘personhood’ that can be either angry or happy, or that is capable of retaliation, is about the same as referring to woodland spirits. The “Mother Earth” movement is closely associated with Paganism, which itself has many (s)atanic ties.
Any Catholics on this page, please start seeing what is behind the veil of the RCC. There are some of you who truly love Christ and must be perplexed by the many strange things coming out of this pope.

But when people feel endangered about something, they begin to collect information about the threat. We need to do that, to do threat avoidance. But worldwide, including the USA, people are NOT very interested in the ‘threats’ of global warming. And that interest is continually declining. We also see that in the USA rankings of important policy issues, where the citizenry rank global warming as a relatively unimportant issue.

I won’t waste yours or my time. I would hope you would agree that man has a biased nature, and by that I mean that much of what he holds to be true has a lot to do with what ‘looking glass’ he is using.

1] The “lies and myths of religion” – what do you do with the prophecies of the Bible? (I am hoping that you are familiar with them)

As a side note: Joss Whedon created a 14 episode show called “Firefly” with a follow up movie of “Serenity.” In this futuristic series you will see Chinese influence all over of the place….non-Chinese characters even using some Chinese swear words….. I knew then that he believes that is how things will be in the future. If we keep going the way we are now….he will be right.
4 years agoAs an introduction to real science instead of the fake gullible warming crap, the basic characteristic of any algorithm involving artificial intelligence is pattern recognition, giving rise to the question of why we have no “common denominators” for those infected and dying from coronavirus.
In the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918, those who composed the bulk of the worst cases were healthy males between the ages of 20-40, giving rise to the theory that our returning soldiers in WWI were exposed to a strain of flu dominant in Europe and not seen here.
So far, all we have is those who have traveled to foreign countries or have underlying pre-existing health conditions.

Isn’t this the same guy that was trying to unite Christianity and Mohamaddonism into Chrislam saying both worshipped the same god?
We are to be good stewards but use what is here not hoard it forever. How can people possibly follow this rube or the mullahs is beyond me. Otherwise, I have tons of paperwork to do and a DVD library of at least 300 movies and TV series…. so I am not bored. You stay safe :0)

Though I used to admire the Catholic Church when John Paul was Pope….I no longer admire them since the Coup…..and now fear their influence around the world due to their association with Soros. The Catholic Church and the Lutheran churches have been the biggest funders of bringing in all these illegals from around the globe…..MY AMERICA, IS NO LONGER AMERICA.
4 years agoI reiterate again to all those non believers in Jesus out there that this is NOT Christianity. It is environmentalism and nature made into a religion. It is pagan. God wants us to be good stewards of the earth but worship is for the Creator and sustainer of life, not the creation.

Popes have always held the title of Vicar of Christ, who is assigned by God for 2000 years as shepherd of the flock on earth. To a question about his title, he stated, “I am not the Vicar of Christ, I am Jorge.” All Beware!

Christmas & Easter are both Pagan, invented by Constantine in the 3rd century, to entice Rome’s Pagan population. Every aspect of Christmas (holly, ivy, Christmas trees, etc.) are Pagan. Everythng about Easter is Pagan to celebrate the Pagan goddess ISHTAR’s birthday, translated to “Easter”! And everything about Ishtar’s celebration is about FERTILITY. NOT about what Passover is about, which is the CRUCIFIXION and RESSURECTION of the Messiah. The Pulpits have been wrongfully teaching Christmas and easter for 2,000 years. And every single Protestant church is a little sister of the Whore of Babylon in Rome.

I wonder how global warming or temperature change could cause this plague (pandemic by another name) since it was winter when it broke out, One would believe that warmth would be a contributing factor.
Le me see… The Horseshoe Bat, which carries the virus, does not live in Wuhan or anywhere near Wuhan. There is a level 4 bio research building that studies the Horseshoe Bat for its corona virus in Wuhan. Apparently bat urine, blood, and faces were not well taken care of and that was probably the reason why the Wuhan Pneumonia Virus (China’s original name for it) got out.
But no. Lets blame the weather which man realistically has no control over. Lets not blame China for its sloppy bio research. Yea, that’s the ticket!

Wuhan is a city of 11 million and before anything was released to the world, 5 MILLION Wuhan residents left China. They were not allowed to fly to ANY other Chinese city, but they were allowed to fly anywhere in the world they wanted, so they did, infecting the entire world. THEN China released a comment, saying there was a pandemic. It was calculated and intentional and China should be VAPORIZED – FLATTENED!
