Man Accused of Trying To Burn Down Occupied Church
Already facing vandalism and hate crime charges, police said a Palos Hills man tried to burn down Sacred Heart Church.

Story continues below advertisementPALOS HILLS, IL — A Palos Hills man already facing hate crime and criminal damage charges is now accused of trying to set fire to an occupied church, reports said. Osama E. El Hannouny, 25, appeared Wednesday before a Cook County judge on charges of arson, hate crimes, criminal damage to property, battery to a police officer and violation of bail bond.
In November 2019, prosecutors said that El Hannouny slashed the tires of 19 cars in the parking lots of the First Baptist and Sts. Helen and Constantine churches. Upon his arrest, he told authorities that he damaged the cars because, “I don’t like Christians,” according to police. Hate crime charges were added in January, and he was released on a $10,000 I-bond with electronic monitoring.
On April 14, police said El Hannouny used leaves to set fire to Sacred Heart Church, 8245 W. 111th St. According to the police report, El Hannouny was caught on video looking through the doors of the church building and noticing that it was occupied. Police said he made numerous trips to pile leaves near the gas main and air conditioning unit. El Hannouny allegedly set the leaves on fire, but firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.
While El Hannouny was being processed, police said he started spitting at officers, reports said. El Hannouny also wrote a religious slur on the wall of his cell, according to the report. El Hannouny allegedly scratched, bit and spit at police when they tried to stop him.
El Hannouny was ordered held without bail.

Have you noticed that atheists are becoming more like intolerant LBGTQ+ people? They seem to feel the need to tell you, they are atheists, when it has nothing to do with whatever subject is being discussed. Not only that, they actively want to take away your right to belief. Freedom from Relgion has had success with that. Occassionally they get something right through their “reasoning” but even a broken clock is right two times a day!
Instead of “Jesus is the reason for the season”, not being too original, they come up with this:
LBGTQ+ have hijacked the rainbow. Atheists, regardless of sexual status, have replaced God with themselves, being gods and goddesses. Atheism is a “religion” that requires belief only in themselves. From that you are supposed to believe imperfect people have perfect reasoning – that alone is illogical! Perfect reasoning would tell you that same sex attraction is not normal also. The parts don’t fit and they are unable to have babies naturally.
You can’t be an LBGTQ+ person and be acceptable to the Judeo Christian God. So it is no wonder that the majority of LBGTQ+ people are also atheists, hate God and also want belief banned. Others LBGTQ+ that claim “belief” are just fooling themselves.

In the dying West at least they’re cowards when it comes to standing up to muslums, even Pat Condell makes excuses for “moderate”, “secular” muslums. Bangladeshi atheists have went the distance though and have been murdered by f’ing muslums for having the courage to publicly criticise the islamic death cult there and without resorting to the usual lie of indicting all religion for the actions of muslums. Like Muslims, atheists want to ideally BAN belief in anything other than what they believe in.
Atheists are not as outspoken or actively protesting Islam as they are with other beliefs. Muslims are also still the minority and over protected too.
When was the last time you saw an atheist take a Muslim to court when they refused an LGBTQ+ celebration cake? There is video out there showing a Muslim running an LBGTQ+ couple out of their bakery and nothing happens to the Muslim baker.
The atheist focus seems to be centered on banning Christianity. Many Jews are secular or socially liberal so atheists tend to leave them alone. Plus there are more Christians than Jews and Muslims in the U.S., so they are a bigger target to harass and ideally ban from belief.

Atheists don’t necessarily bother me UNLESS they try to erase my belief to make themselves feel better. It’s a choice they should have just as LBGTQ+ people.
I am not interested in harrassing an atheist or an LBGQ+ person due to lack of belief, however that is less and less reciprocal. Instead both are looking for ways to end this choice and legally ban you from belief. That is where I have a problem.

He was arrested in Nov., had new charges added in Jan., had a nice, affordable bail set at $10k and was able to ‘get back to work’ to set fire to a crowded church. I sure hope they treated him well for those 8 or so hours in the joint. Why, they could have made him mad, or something and he could have done more damage.

I don’t think so. I have an in-law uncle, who immigrated with his family in 1922. I did some research for his son on his grand parents. In 1922 Immigration and Naturalization was in the Department of Labor. Well, well. The whole idea was to protect American jobs. What a novel idea. Looks liek the Lion of the Senate did away with that idea in 1965.
