Recap:

President Trump and the White House Coronavirus Task Force announced additional actions today as part of the ongoing, government-wide response to the global pandemic:

  • To help American families and businesses, the Treasury Department announced that Tax Day will be moved from April 15 to July 15. No interest or penalties will be charged for filing during this extended window, but any American expecting refunds or credits may claim now to get their money sooner.
  • To minimize impact on our nation’s students, the Department of Education is temporarily waiving all interest on federally held student loans. Secretary Betsy DeVos has also directed federal lenders to allow borrowers to suspend their student loan payments without penalty for at least the next 60 days.
  • Early, decisive travel restrictions helped slow the spread of Coronavirus to our country. Today, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the United States and Mexico have agreed to restrict non-essential travel across their border.
  • More help is on the way. The Trump Administration worked with Congress last week on a bipartisan deal to deliver economic relief and support for American families, which the President signed into law on Wednesday. More legislative action is expected in the coming days.

Israel’s Teva Donates 6 Million Doses of Malaria Drug to Fight Coronavirus
https://www.breitbart.com/health/2020/03/20/israels-teva-donates-6-million-doses-of-malaria-drug-to-fight-coronavirus/
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Israel’s leading drug producer, announced Thursday that it is donating six million doses of its malaria tablet to the United States as testimonies continue to roll in claiming that it could potentially treat people with the Chinese coronavirus.

Teva said it will ship the hydroxychloroquine tablets via wholesalers to hospitals across the country by March 31 and provide over ten million within a month.

“We are committed to helping to supply as many tablets as possible as demand for this treatment accelerates at no cost,” Teva executive vice president Brendan O’Grady said in a statement.

Teva’s donation came hours after President Donald Trump touted the use of chloroquine to treat patients who have been infected with the coronavirus.

Both Trump and Boris should stop shutting the economy down with all this self isolation nonsense and freely distribute this Chloraquine medication that has proved to be effective.
It’d be a whole lot cheaper than walking into a recession which will bankrupt both countries.

It’s the rapid rise in the number of cases that policy makers seem to worry about. That’s what California, NY State, Illinois, and Nevada did. They locked down because they got really really worried about the rate the disease spreads. Several drug makers have committed to making millions of Chloroquine tablets, and Bayer has donated 3 million doses to the USA. It’s good to squelch epidemics at both ends, reducing the number of cases with isolation, and reducing the death rate with better treatments.

Life has to be allowed to carry on as close to normal as poss though until the chloroquine can be distributed. This big shutdown is going to ruin so many small businesses that don’t carry insurance for such things as mass epidemics.
