Michigan Gov. Whitmer on Coronavirus: Trump Admin Has Been Too Slow, It’s ‘Mind-Boggling’

Tuesday on MSNBC, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) criticized the coronavirus outbreak response of President Donald Trump’s administration.
On closing restaurants and bars, Whitmer said, “In order to flatten the curve, we need to be aggressive on the front end. The federal government did not take this seriously early enough, and now it is on us to make sure we’re doing everything we can based on the best facts and science available and that we are always putting the health of our people front and center. It was a tough decision to make, but we know the spread of this virus is dependent on close proximity. This is one of many steps we’re taking in the state of Michigan.”
Story continues below advertisementHost Stephanie Ruhle asked, “Yesterday, The New York Times reported that the president told a group of governors, ‘Don’t wait for the federal government to get respirators and ventilators. Get them for yourself,’ What’s the reaction to that? it’s much different than the federal response during the Ebola.”
Whitmer said, “This has to be all hands on deck. Cutting red tape, moving as quickly as we possibly can, and being aggressive and smart about our reaction. And so to hear the leader of the federal government tell us to work around the federal government because it’s too slow is just —it’s kind of mind-boggling, to be honest. We are pulling out all the stops in Michigan. Businesses here in Michigan that are redoubling their efforts to make sure that we’re able to access all of the kinds of equipment that we need, but we need the federal government to work. We need respirators and ventilators and personal protection equipment. We need more test kits and the resources to process those test kits in a quick, expedited manner.”
Ruhle asked, “Can you get them? Can you get them without federal support?”
Whitmer responded, “No, no. We need federal support. Like I said, we’re pulling out all of the stops and reaching out to our partners in the private sector and we’re going to do everything we can to supplement but it’s not to the exclusion of federal support. We need the federal government to ramp up and get this done.”

Getting rid of these despicable characters like that one above would be far more important. Instead of working together with the government they are trying to obstruct anything at all with the hope that the condition will go worse so they can use the results use as ammo against the President. They truly are evil !!

She’s on her second marriage, I believe. When she was elected as part of her acceptance speech she thanked her former husband for raising their daughter. Is that the sort of mother America wants? Add to that it is reported that Blue Cross Blue Shield dumped a lot of money into her campaign. Hmm? I wonder why? Did it have anything to do with that fact her father was CEO of BC/BS for 18 years? Of course she promised to fix Michigan roads with a 45 cents per gallon tax increase. Unlike the GOP candidate that the Michigan GOP killed at the primary, Pat Colbeck, an engineer, he actually already had a plan to fix the roads. 15% in crease in cost with three times the longevity. The problem in Michigan is not the Democrats, but the Republicans.

Whitmer is way over her head. She ran on fixing roads. She has nothing else. She claims to be a moderate but she’s an ultra-Leftist. She needs to deliver Michigan to Biden. This is not helpful.

If she is such a brilliant maverick, why didn’t she do what Trump has done sooner? Nothing was stopping or should stop this “empowered” woman. She contradicts herself. You don’t need federal support to do all of it. What have YOU done about it?

All Democrat governors seem to know how to do is complain that Trump won’t do everything for them.
The Dem Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo was positively whining on cable yesterday, expressing utter exasperation about being on the phone all day yesterday with the administration and being told to try to procure masks on her own. Imagine!!!
California Dem Gov., and nephew of Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsome has moved on from masks to a brand new tick — “swabs.” The White House has apparently stolen his swabs or at least is withholding them from him and he just can’t do anything without his swabs.
NY Gov Cuomo held a long, pointless, rambling press conference on TV when he looked like a patriarch uncle sitting around the table after Thanksgiving dinner telling stories of his formative years with his belt loosened a notch.
It’s evidence of how they talk to each other in an echo chamber, believe their own lies and are in constant competition with each other to speak the most clever and original kind of aspersion against the president, apparently completely independent of any awareness that they are the elected leaders of, each, one of the Fifty American States.
Tuesday was the day when it became glaringly clear that there is only one leader in our country today — President Donald Trump.

What have all these governors done on their own?
What are they paid for?

All that`s needed is to be capable of dragging ones knuckles while walking up right, with an occasional grunt,now&then.And to spread the love in the right places with the right (in this case) men.
