Iran On ‘Warlike’ Footing as Senior Leader Admits He Has Coronavirus

Iranian forces have taken a “warlike” posture across the Islamic Republic as another of Tehran’s top political figures admits he has contracted the coronavirus, according to reports in Iran’s state-controlled media.

By Adam Kredo, WFB, March 16, 2020;

Ali Akbar Velayati, a top adviser to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been infected with the coronavirus and is now in isolation, according to reports in Iran’s state-controlled press outlets. Velayati is one of many top Iranian officials to contract the virus since it began spreading across Iran. Several Iranian officials have already died as a result of the illness.

The situation in Iran has rapidly deteriorated over the past several weeks and prompted the country to galvanize a military response to stymie the virus’s spread.

Iranian forces affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have now taken a “warlike” posture across the country, officials said.

“All provincial units of IRGC along with medical science universities are really in a warlike arrangement,” Major General Hossein Salami said Monday during a videoconference with IRGC leaders.

These military forces are working to disinfect areas and move infected individuals into makeshift quarantine facilities.

Corononavirus forces Iran to asks for billions in loans as death toll climbs
3/12/20
AP

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran said Thursday it asked the International Monetary Fund for a $5 billion loan to fight the coronavirus, the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution that it has sought such assistance, in a staggering admission of how fragile its economy has become amid the epidemic and punishing U.S. sanctions.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted that the Washington-based IMF should “stand on right side of history & act responsibly” by releasing the funds. He also said the fight against the virus, which has infected more than 10,000 people in Iran and killed hundreds, has been “stymied by vast shortages caused by restrictions,” a reference to the U.S. sanctions.

The last time a loan for Iran was approved from the IMF was under its final shah in 1960, well before the revolution that established clerical rule.

Yes, and the IMF is based in Washington D.C. Of course, Iran could have all the help they needed if they gave up nuke work and stopped exporting terrorism. Trump could let Iran return to exporting 2.5 million barrels of oil per day, and at even $30/barrel, that’s a lot of money.

Iran’s Rouhani warns media, seeks to suppress coronavirus coverage
By SETH J. FRANTZMAN
MARCH 14, 2020 19:03

Massive crises unfolds, doctors report their staff are sick and can’t meet the needs of the people, Iran’s regime prepares media to put positive spin on disaster.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has met with key advisors and officials to coordinate the suppression of media reports on the coronavirus outbreak in Iran. As numerous Iraqis returning from Iran have been saying there is a massive disaster unfolding in Iran, the regime in Tehran wants to stop what it calls “gossip.”

Under the guise of “accurate, clear and transparent information on countering coronavirus,” it appears the main goal is to try to get the public to stop asking questions. “The main need of today’s society is to relax the focus,” the report notes.

If Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dies, there will be big upheaval and internal power struggles. And he is very old and frail, with other pre-existing conditions.

Maybe a revolution without a shot fired.
They need a regime change.

The regime isn’t the problem, it’s the people and the religion they follow. For the kuffar the only difference in any muslum state is the amount of persecution they experience at the hands of the muslums and a muslum state is only as good as its latest strongman.

Ye olde M4 Sherman. The Germans made mincemeat out of them but the Israelis seem to use their up-gunned ones w/better gunsites to good effect in the Six Day War.

I used to know a guy from the 10th Armored — he said Shermans were death traps and that salvaging Shermans shot up by Germans nearly always involved cleaning out blood and body parts. Him and his brother, also a WW2 vet, used to tell me German tanks were “as big as a house”.

Yeah, the Shermans had their limitations. I have a fondness for them anyway.

Did you ever hear/read/see the unbelievable crying and wailing that went on when Ayatrollah Khomeni died? I’d like to see that again. I’ll even bust out a beer to celebrate the Ayatrollah Khameni going on to his virgins, little boys and rivers of wine. I wonder if they have white wine rivers, red wine rivers, merlot rivers and sparkling champagne rivers? I’d prefer a Sangria river myself.

Give me a beer river any day!
Yes I remember Khomenis funeral and the uncivilised madness of the over-mourning crowd.
I’m sure that they were so unruly that they tipped him out of his coffin and onto the floor.
Such is the stupidity that islam inspires in men.
And what kind of religion can offer not just 72 virgins but little boys on the menu for the good jihadis?
As if those poor virgins and little boys have no choice to have their anuses violated’ what terrible crime could they have committed to deserve such a fate?
As we know. …. islam is for idiots. I often wonder about the scientists and “intellectuals” that are born into islam ????surely they must see through that charade and it’s futile philosophy but they too appear to be as brainwashed as the rest. Or maybe they have personally come to the conclusion that the religion is indeed bullshite but they cling to the ideology’ rather like a communist does to Marxism.

Unfortunately Jannah is only said to have rivers of wine, beer didn’t make the cut, but maybe you can have all the fermented camel urine cocktails any way you want them in its place!

Rivers of Wine?
I definitely won’t be going to that hellish place M.
My Lord has a much different kind of kingdom where it’s your “spirit” that is flowing free and just to sit at the feet of Jesus would be heaven enough for me.
The muzrats hilariously offer free flowing booze, rape of virgins and the sodomy of boys as their prize in paradise and that’s far from my idea of heaven.

This is going back to the seventies. Best sangria … One gallon of Carlo Rossi Burgundy. Place in pot. Add sliced orange, lime, and lemon. Heat at a very low heat, so as not to lose the alcohol. Keep covered, again to prevent the loss of any alcohol. Keep at that very low heat for thirty minutes to one hour.
Best sangria that I have ever tasted. That was back when a gallon of Carlo, “I’d rather drink it”, Rossi was around two bucks.

Drinking Sangria is healthy because you’re getting your daily allowance of fruits and vegetables at the same time.

I agree with you, on the fruit. But, what vegetables are in sangria? And, remember how important grain products are to a healthy diet. Whiskey and beer are rich in grains, especially beer. Both should be incorporated into a healthy diet.

muslim woman may survive because they are not allowed to shake the hands of men. I wonder when the mosques in the UK will start closing. It will be interesting to keep watch to see if it is possible to pray at home 5 times a day, then we will see there is no valid reason to have a mosque. That should interupt terrorists for a bit anyway
