Unless Trump and the Task Force see the need for businesses to grind to a halt it seems like so much political posturing or suffering due to forecasting horror. Do these Democrat politicians really think Americans are unable to responsibly practice social distancing?

No single politician in the world reacted fast enough to this. Not Trump, but nobody else either. Xi Jinping didn’t either.

Why? People who look at things with cold honest rationality (this is truly virtue) and make the hard decisions don’t rise to the top. They cannot become presidents. They’re stuck in lower management at best, unpopular annoying folks who are deemed to have trouble getting along with people. Even Trump was a little too slow here.

So the staff don’t get to work and therefore don’t get paid. Where is that famous (clumsy?) waitress AOC complaining that people won’t have money to pay for food and housing? The restaurants, where will they get the funds to pay rent? The supply chain will stop, meaning produce backed up, drivers and shippers laid off. Then it backs up to the farmers, who have produce but no where to send it. With restaurants closed, there will be bigger strain on grocery stores.

I’m certain that the mayor’s kitchen staff will prepare something different and special over the coming five weeks. No shortages of food for Bill and his family. If there is a shortage, such as lobster, I’m certain he will have it flown in.

Instead he spends billions of tax dollars on building and refurbishing and providing apartments with granite counter tops for them. A fool’s errand.
While the mayor and the council are bought and paid for by the Mexican cartels, decriminalizing illegal drugs and public drug use so the cartels can continue extorting the little money the homeless have through addiction and “protection.”
And he’ll no doubt bitch about Trump’s plan to suspend payroll tax deductions for those who still can work.
