Prosecutors said that when officials searched her living quarters, they found a handwritten note in Arabic concealed under her mattress with information about Defense Department computer systems and warning of a Defense Department target.
They said she had given the information in the note to a co-conspirator, in whom she had a romantic interest. The co-conspirator, who was not identified, worked for the Lebanese government and “has apparent connections” to Hezbollah, according to prosecutors.
Defense Department Linguist Charged With Passing Highly Classified Intel to Hezbollah Operative

Story continues below advertisementA linguist working for the Defense Department was charged with passing “highly sensitive classified national defense information” to a foreign national affiliated with the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terror group.
Mariam Taha Thompson is charged with compiling classified U.S. government information “regarding active human assets, including their true names” and passing it to Hezbollah operatives, the Department of Justice announced on Wednesday.
“By compromising the identities of these human assets, Thompson placed the lives of the human assets and U.S. military personnel in grave danger,” the Justice Department said in a statement on Thompson’s case.
“While in a war zone, the defendant allegedly gave sensitive national defense information, including the names of individuals helping the United States, to a Lebanese national located overseas,” Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers said in a statement. “If true, this conduct is a disgrace, especially for someone serving as a contractor with the United States military. This betrayal of country and colleagues will be punished.”
“The conduct alleged in this complaint is a grave threat to national security, placed lives at risk, and represents a betrayal of our armed forces,” U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Timothy J. Shea said in a statement. “The charges we’ve filed today should serve as a warning to anyone who would consider disclosing classified national defense information to a terrorist organization.”

The Destroyer I was on, a WW2 Fletcher Class, DD 517, USS Walker. We were on several missions, where no mail,incoming nor outgoing was allowed. Also, the intel we received was good. We worked w/a marine spotter in the Delta. That guy had a pair. Little single engine,looked like a piper cub. My word, he practically brushed the tree tops,so low. He saved us once by spotting a crew setting up a mortar in the tree line. I`d shake his hand and call him SIR, any day.Last I looked, the Walker wasn`t even on a list of ships being in nam. Trust me, we were.

I’m surprised a Fletcher was still being used in the USN in the late 1960’s. I had thought they had all been replaced by the Forrest Sherman or Charles F. Adams class destroyers. Did it still have all 5 of the single 5″ turrets?

Yes. 5″ 38 on bow and fantail. 02 level had twin 3″ 50`s port & starbrd. I was mt.capt. on starbrd 3″. Went thru fram in Pearl Harbor & removed main deck torpedo tubes, but kept the 02 level I call it a tripod mount of smaller torpedo tubes. We had 2 collisions in the Sea of Japan with Soviets. You can see the interview with our Captain on U-Tube. I liked him, he was a man. He didn`t back down. He got himself a black eye in a bar fight. More I could tell about our “cruise`s” . I liked the Walker, our sister ship was the Taylor. Both home ported in Pearl. The Navy decom’ed the Walker and sank it. Wish I could have bought it.

We lived up to the ships class, a Destroyer. The Walker was named after Rear Admiral John Grimes Walker. She was Commissioned on 4/3/1943,in Boston.7 Pacific campaigns during WW2. She destroyed 4 Japanese aircraft,1 submarine.(I went to ASW school,also). No damage to her or crew. There`s more to her history, but not to be long winded, She lived up to her motto, ” Destroyer,Squadron 11, ON THE WAY “. That collision we had in the Sea of Japan ? We had 2. The 2nd , the Soviet ship, Kotlin class DDG-025, knocked a hole in our bow. Their Capt. mis judged when he was turning to starbrd. The 1st collision,was with Soviet DD-022. That was just a sideswipe & only knocked down a life line and 1 radio antennae. We were there taunting the Soviets. Intel mission. They are braggarts & sent out their newest ships.We had Navy photogs on brd,taking pictures like crazy,the Helo Carrier,USS Hornet sent out helo`s like a swarm around the ships. Taking intel pictures. Our radar each time picked up long range Bomber taking off from their mainland.He flew right over us. When stuff like that happens,General Quarters is called. All firestations are maned,All gun mounts are maned. My mount,being in the open,crew was told to get out of sight.So we hid behind the 3” magazine. I looked over at the Soviets,everything on their port side was aimed point blank at us. This happened twice. We went into Yokosuka&into drydock for 30 days for for repairs. Everyone on brd. fell in love at least once……..

I was a CC aid at Great Lakes.Took 3 Co. thru bootcamp. We had Nixon`s nephew in our barracks. He never saw service outside the US,that I know of,while rest of us certainly did, Sasebo,Japan,Taiwan,were my favorite ports. Alongapo,Phillipines,has to be the arm pit or crotch of the world. We were allowed on 1 street about a block long,.Warned not to go down alleys,or canal areas.Wall to wall bars&cat houses.Every bar had cat house upstairs.Pickpockets,kids selling their mother who`s a virgin.Sorry,I tend to ramble.Got 4 yr. worth of sea stories. Bore you silly.You are bringing back some memories. Remember,the Walker never lost any crew in WW2 ? We lost 1 in Vietnam. He was transferred to a PBR.Was killed shortly after.Another friend was transferred to PBR as a machine gunner.Never heard if he survived or not.They always notify the last command a person served in,if they get killed. I still don`t know why we were there,and what was worth so many lives.

I wouldn`t mind seeing it. I remember our first X0. He had a poster in his stateroom, ” Shine,she must,Sail, she might” . Capt. made him take it down. A short little dude,we called him little Ceaser. After our first “cruise”,little Ceaser got his own ship.They came into port and berthed just ahead of us, one time.I saw him on the bridge,yelling,sea detail crew was not happy. We were happy to see him go.

Exodus was a very dishonest movie. You would barely think any f’ing muslums were involved in the invasion of Israel in ’48’ at all after watching it. General Haim Herzog penned a book called the Arab-Israeli Wars. He personally fought in the War of Independence. He stated muslims were selling their properties to Jews before they left Israel — fully expecting to get the properties back once the Jews were dead. Glubb Pasha was indeed an English POS for leading the Arab Legion against the nascent state of Israel. Exodus made it seem as if nazis were behind the muslum invasion of Israel, but they were the tools of the muslums not vice-versa.
The various atrocities committed by the f’ing muslums during the War of Independence were not mentioned at all in Exodus. From the slaughter of an unarmed and clearly marked medical convoy traveling to Mt. Scopus to the slaughter of the Jews who surrendered at the Etzion bloc to the deliberate sniping of unarmed civilians in East Yerushalem and siege of same — none of that was mentioned in Exodus.

All the more reason for the movie Exodus to have exposed it considering it dealt w/events before the War of Independence. General Chaim Herzog personally witnessed the slaughter at Mt. Scopus — he tried to get British troops to intervene (so that makes it obviously before the War of Independence) they politely refused. Did this attack happen even before Israel was declared a state by the UN?

Once again, the enemy within, in this case, a Defense Department linguist, passes highly classified Intel to the enemy, Hezbollah operative. Not that this treason is shocking; after all, she is not an anomaly in the military’s inner-working nor the government’s or its agencies.
Did someone drop the ball, or was this part-and-parcel of the nation’s enemies enablement by others within the military’s security infrastructure? A rhetorical question. ‘We the People’ will be denied the truth as not to expose the truth.
