Thousands brave freezing weather to camp out ahead of Colorado Trump rally

Thousands of Trump supporters are camping out in freezing temperatures ahead of the president’s rally in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Thursday night.
People with tents and space heaters began congregating Wednesday morning in anticipation of the rally. By Thursday morning, the parking lot was at capacity, with thousands of people braving weather that will only reach a high of 32 degrees.
“11 hours before @POTUS is expected to speak to Coloradans at the @bworldarena, cars can already be seen lined up waiting for the Commander in Chief,” local news anchor Brynn Carman tweeted.

Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are slated to take the stage at 5 p.m. local time in the World Arena to rally support for 2020, as well as for Republican Sen. Cory Gardner’s reelection campaign.Trump is on a four-day tour of the West, visiting California, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada. The president has spent each night at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, putting him close to where Democrats will vote in their state’s caucus Saturday.
