Mitt Romney: Trump Administration ‘Substantially’ Unprepared for Coronavirus
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) on Tuesday afternoon criticized the Trump administration’s preparations for the possible spread of the deadly Chinese coronavirus in the United States.

“I’m very disappointed in the degree to which we’ve prepared for a pandemic, both in terms of protective equipment and in terms of medical devices that would help people once they are infected,” Romney, a staunch critic of President Donald Trump, told reporters, according to The Hill. “At this stage, I think we are substantially underinvesting in what would be appropriate for a setting which could be serious.”
Story continues below advertisementRomney, who serves on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, added that further outbreak in the country could be thwarted, though “we don’t know what the future holds.”
The senator added: “I think we should be pulling out all the stops.”
Romney’s remark comes after President Trump said that the illness is “very much under control” in the U.S. and that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) have been “working hard and very smart” to stop it.
As of Tuesday, 57 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the U.S., which includes the 40 American citizens repatriated from the virus-stricken Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan. The illness that originated in Wuhan, China has now infected over 80,000 people across the world. 77,000 of such cases have been confirmed in China with others in Europe and the Middle East.
Earlier Tuesday, a top CDC warned that the spread of the virus in the U.S. is highly likely and that could drastically impact Americans’ everyday life.
“As more and more countries experience community spread, successful containment at our borders becomes harder and harder,” Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters.
“It’s not a question of if this will happen but when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illnesses,” added the top public health official. “Disruption to everyday life might be severe.”
“The data over the last week and spread in other countries has certainly raised our level of concern, and raised our level of expectation that we are going to have community spread here, so that has changed our tone,” she concluded.

We only have 57 patients that have the virus here. They are all contained. No one has died yet in the U.S.. We have a superior health care system to China and some of these other countries that still insist on OPEN BORDERS, MASS immigration and NOT checking people at airports for the disease to quarantine them if they have it.
It’s hard to tell what is true but at worst it sounds like a 2% death rate while 98% don’t die. Who appears to be most vulnerable are older people and people with compromised immune systems. The number one killer in the U.S. is ABORTION and look how DEMS care about that. Even infanticide doesn’t bother DEMS and RINOS. Yes, abortion is the number one killer and the swamp doesn’t care! Don’t for a moment believe that DEMS care. If they did care they’d be DOING something about it instead of bashing Trump.
The DEMS and RINOs like Mitt, are weaponizing this illness. Their hope is to crash our economy, stock market, create chaos by disrupting businesses, schools and eventually universities and colleges suggesting Trump is dangerous and doesn’t care all to bring Trump down. It’s all about creating PANIC! Obama literally flew EBOLOA people here HOPING we would get it here! They never left either…. See any outrage over that? Ebola is far worse than what we are seeing here.
Trump’s economical success is making them crazy. that is a stumbling block for them. Obama tried to take credit for it and failed. The hatred for Trump is intense and terminal. They don’t care if they bring the global economy down because they HATE the global restructuring Trump is doing with the global economy. The other hoaxes have not worked so this may be their last stand and time is running out. ALL of the DEM candidates are losers and they see Trump potentially winning a second term. Again, seeing the desperation Never Trumpers, DEMS and RINOS are going to, do NOT ASSUME Trump will have an easy election.

Sweden Govt Says Coronavirus ‘Low Risk’ Will Not Screen Air Travelers

The Swedish government has announced that it will be contributing cash to a WHO fund to tackle the coronavirus but will not be monitoring or screening incoming airline passengers for the virus.
The government will be contributing 40 million Swedish krona (£3,182,080/$4,110,472) to the World Health Organisation’s crisis fund, which is designed to allow the international agency to act against the spread of the coronavirus.
