Milwaukee Teacher Placed on Leave After Calling Rush Limbaugh Cancer Diagnosis ‘Awesome’

Story continues below advertisementAn English teacher from Milwaukee High School of the Arts in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was placed on leave after referring to radio personality Rush Limbaugh’s recent cancer diagnosis as “awesome,” and saying that he hopes the conservative host dies a “painful” death.
“[L]imbaugh absolutely should have to suffer from cancer,” tweeted Travis Sarandos. “[I]t’s awesome that he’s dying, and hopefully it is as quick as it is painful.”
Sarandos, who appears to have since deleted his Twitter account — @travis_MKE — was placed on leave on Wednesday, according to a report by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The teacher had been responding to another user on Twitter, who said, “No one should ever have to suffer from cancer,” and expressed hope that Limbaugh would “make a speedy recovery,” and then begin advocating for “affordable health care.”
Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the teacher was not speaking on behalf of the school district, its students, or other employees of MPS, and later added that Sarandos has been placed on leave pending an investigation.
On Monday, Limbaugh announced on his nationally syndicated radio show that he had been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump awarded the conservative radio host with the Presidential Medal of Freedom during his State of the Union address.
Limbaugh appeared visibly emotional as the president made the announcement, moments before First Lady Melania Trump presented the medal and placed it around his neck.
“Here tonight is a special man — beloved by millions of Americans — who just received a stage 4 advanced cancer diagnosis,” said President Trump on Tuesday. “This is not good news, but what is good news is that he is the greatest fighter and winner that you will ever meet.”
“Rush Limbaugh, thank you for your decades of tireless devotion to our country,” added the president, as State of the Union attendees gave the radio host a standing ovation.
Milwaukee Public Schools did not immediately respond to Breitbart News’ request for comment.

Travis Sarandos, teaches English at Wisconsin’s Milwaukee High School of the Arts. Others have followed up with even more vile remarks. Rush doesn’t vilify people like that. He doesn’t deserve that. It’s nearly impossible to survive stage four cancer….I am sure Rush will get the best care but sometimes that doesn’t mean the outcome will be positive…..If you can pray for Rush. He needs your prayers.

I have far too little time for R&R, and I definitely get enough “diversity” in daily life. So when I identify a real fool like this one? I’m opting for fun and relaxation. Not angst.

Move your cursor over to the right top in line with the identity line of who they are…two selections will come down….one is Block User and the other is Flag user. Look at both choices. One is to just block and the other is to Flag that poster for the moderators….You will see a list of why you want that poster flagged…and after you flag them for whatever reason, you can then still block them in this selection. :0)

Rush avoids the histrionics and ranting … but like Alex J o n e s … he sometimes repeats what the Left accuses us of in a sarcastic manner… and if one lays sarcasm down – out of context – on a text without the tone and voice inflection … one can fool fools into thinking the target said the opposite of what he said …
Every single example of ‘Rush’ targeting has been something like that …
Except one Libertarian economist who repeated the BS about Rush being an Oxycontin addict – I would have fallen for that one, but I had already had multiple relatives go through the ‘pain management’ doctor-clinic problem. (My own son went through every pain clinic in North Texas – 16+ clinics during the last year of his cancer treatment …)
So I always take such criticism with a pound of salt (not a pinch) …

Thank you, very much – my son’s fine for now. The stats suggest he may have problems when he’s my age. But he was treated with adult stem cell technology at MD Anderson … nothing short of genius if you ask me … and it worked like magic.
Won’t bore you with the story – but it took about 3 years of complex treatment, insane funding problems (Obamacare officials defunded the entire program he was in for over a year while MD Anderson’s legal went to war with them, and a whole lot more.)
He had some serious side-effects due to the chemo that preceded the adult stem cells, but he’s recovered.
As to ‘informing’ … yeah, Gracian hit that spot. Most of us have no idea how much is fake out there; and just to be clear, I’m not a conspiracy theory fan either.
As to Kobe … I only remembered the allegations when the news machine recycled the accusations after his death. The NY Post story you link to – confirms what I recall. I think the word ‘gold-digger’ fits here. Obviously, we never know the truth of these matters, but the accusation is very lame; we have many sports figures who are credibly accused of sexual misconduct from voluntary to involuntary … and Kobe’s case does not seem to fit the pattern. Again, not a certainty, but v. unlikely.

Every human being is in the process of dying, and most have no idea of the future how or the when of it.
To wish a cancer death on another with it’s often excruciating pain is a major mistake.

Prayer is the first thing we must do, but as I heard during the 2016 campaign a fellow was heard to say “Pray but don’t lean on the shovel.” For me that means I must engage my cultural in every way I can. Too many Christians pray a lot, but never write a letter or pick up the phone to tell their employees, read members of Congress or state legislatures what the boss expects.
This teacher is a product of the schools and consider that John Dewey and his ilk wanted socialism. The churches kept silent when the likes of FDR’s Klansman Hugo Black ruled separation of church and state was for the church, but not the state. That was not what Thomas Jefferson wrote. He apparently had no problem with taking due process for 110,000 Nisei. Of course, the church remained silent when humanism was officially ruled the religion of the nation thanks to Marxist Madeline Murray O’Hare. Our parents and grand parents did not have smart phones so they had some excuse, but not today.

Real science never contradicts the Scriptures. Great scientists like Newton wrote more on theology than science. The pursuit of science was because they saw the hand of the Creator all around them. My area of knowledge is more in the area of thermodynamics and related subjects, but hearing about DNA was very interesting. I cannot even begin to list all of Rush Limbaugh’s accomplishments. His charity work alone has been phenomenal. I remember when he managed to get his hands on a letter from Congressional Democrats to Rush’s Syndicator, basically Rush’s boss demanding that he take Rush off the air. Rush auctioned that letter for over $1 million and then matched that amount. The funds went to the Marine and Law Enforcement charity. The sale of Betsy Ross Flag T-Shirts has raised over $5million for the Tunnel to Towers foundation. T2T pays off mortgages of families that lost a loved one in the 9/11 attacks.
What has this slimy teacher contributed? How dare he wish that on anybody! I hope he reconsiders his position on the subject.

Lots of parents I’ve talked to won’t ever homeschool because both parents work and they don’t have the time. I suppose I get that and yet I don’t. There really ought to be homeschooling centers of some sort out there. I suspect security is really a number one issue. If we have the technology to safely educate yutes, why aren’t we using it?

Something like that. The overall point is we have the technology to do what going to school used to do. Public schools have become as irrelevant as public phones. We can do this for so much less and in an entirely safer setting and not just for yutes if it’s done right!
