Boris Admits ‘Really Very Few’ Islamists Can Be Rehabilitated, ‘We Need to Be Frank About That’

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has admitted that “really very few” Islamists can be successfully rehabilitated, and says it’s time to emphasise “the custodial option” to protect the public.
The Tory leader was speaking after Sudesh Amman stabbed multiple people in Streatham, London, just days after he received automatic early release from a short prison sentence for terror offences.
Story continues below advertisementAmman was the second radical Islamic terrorist who struck while out on automatic early release in a row, with London Bridge killer Usman Khan having also been a freed terror convict.
“I’m going to level with you,” Johnson began, in response to a journalist who asked him if the public could be sure that terror convicts were coming out of prison less dangerous than when they went in.
“I think, looking at the problems we have with re-educating and reclaiming and rehabilitating people who succumb to Islamism, it’s very, very hard, and very tough, and it can happen, but the instances of success are really very few,” he confessed.
“[W]e need to be frank about that, and we need to think about how we handle that in our criminal justice system.”
Elaborating on the point in response to another journalist, Johnson underlinged the fact that “Deradicalising people is a very, very difficult thing to do… [there is] a big psychological barrier people find it hard to get back over — and that’s why I stress the importance of the custodial option.”
The Prime Minister wants to end automatic early release for “serious” terrorists and violent and/or sexual offenders — but that will not arrest the very substantial pool of existing terror convicts who are already counting down the time until they set free.
He indicated that his administration is going “to take action to ensure that people, irrespective of the law that we’re bringing in, [to ensure that] people in the current stream do not qualify automatically for early release” retroactively — a move than is not prohibited by the British constitution, but which would likely have to be passed “notwithstanding the Human Rights Act” of 1998, and with the possibility of terrorists appealing to the European Court of Human Rights.

Nothing has changed about islam since the time of Jefferson, and before, with the exception that islam is growing in power because national leaders refuse to declare islam to be an enemy of their nations and peoples. It is death to any culture to allow muslims into the nations.

Well said. This article is limited to catch and release. I believe the concept should be catch and return to their country of origin. All of Europe is dealing with the same problem as quoted by Thomas Jefferson. These believers cannot avoid the underlying mandate of Islam: domination, subjugation and violence towards non-believers. That is the principal we are facing. Our leaders need to acknowledge that factor and adopt a program to remove those radical actors from their nations, while closing their borders to those believers who cannot assimilate and accept the indigenous societies.

Until our leaders acknowledge the reality that Islam is first and foremost a political ideology that is not compatible with western culture, we will continue to “struggle” with Islam. That is until the western idiots are fully subjugated and under sharia in which case the struggle won’t just be a few bad Muslims but how to pay their masters the jizya.

Until someone steps up, that has clout, Trump is forced to call them “radical”. Calling out Islam has to start with US. He has to be careful on this because we DO have freedom of religion. Islam is considered a religion.

It would be interesting to have a ruling from SCOTUS on the original intent of that freedom. Was Islam included? Would Jefferson have allowed Islam to take root here? Maybe when he signed the Constitution, but later when he had to fight the Barbary pirates? I bet he would have eradicated it before it could grow.

Islam is a political ideology that uses religious rituals to control its members. That makes it not a religion. If you take away the political part of Islam, you have nothing left. Even their 5 daily prayers are a political statement… “thank you God that I’m not like the cursed Jews and the misguided Christians” is an attack against Jews and Christians.

I could not agree more. I keep asking this question, time and time again. With all this background knowledge and experience of the behaviour of people who follow this repugnant ideology, why have we let so many in to the west, who are slowly by stealth taking the country over and killing us in the process? Clem, this is the ten million dollar question! Why? This question has been on my mind for years now, as it has with so many discerning people.
Perhaps the answer can be found in the Word of God. In Revelation 18 when Yahweh is referring to the Babylonian City/islamic center and their god the text says: “…by you magic spell all nations were led astray.”

Yes but another question I have been asking at the same time to see if they understand the difference between right and wrong. I never get an answer from anyone from anne marie walters to robin tilbrook. The question is, if nazism and its dictator is so vehemently villified for the murderous attrocities over a 6 year span and is illegal, then why is the behaviour of mohamed the founder of islam over a 20 year period so acceptable, protected by law and incouraged to proliferate in the western world?

There again, the answer can only be delusion with its cause in the demonic. There are simply powers at work that humanity cannot easily understand.
In the case of islam, the inconsistency between what is rationally right and wrong has been blurred so that national leaders and many of the citizenry (mostly Democrats) are ignoring what is evident and bowing to the destructive weapon of political correctness.
Instinctively many of us realize that national procrastination in the face of danger, and in this case Sharia, will choke the life out of our Constitutional Republic. And yet our political leaders are acting as if they are bewitched!
Political islam and the liberty birthed by the Constitution and Bill of Right are incompatible and we must divorce islam before it is too late! The relationship between our Republic and islam is an adulterous affair.

Agreed. The Catholics have got it going on because they drink real wine right there in the church house. The difference between us Methodists and other Protestants is that we will at least speak to each other in the liquor store.
But muslimes do not drink at all. That’s why they are pissed off all the time, running around flying airplanes into the side of buildings and sh*t.

Funny old world. When Boris was mayor of London I seem to remember him speaking to camera {after the latest atrocity by a muslim} that “Islam was a peaceful religion, and preached against violence” or some such balderdash.
Of course that self loading replica of a Pillsbury doughboy Prime Minister Cameron said it first, so like his boss Treedle dum, Tweedle dee had to repeat the deliberate fib..
Well I suppose it’s overdue but welcome that something might be tried that can command the publics respect, but trying anything remotely effective against convicted or potential jihadists as a deterrent, against objections from a unionised prison labour force, legal human rights advocates and other interested parties is like trying to push a blunt stick through a feather pillow – jolly hard going.
The problem in UK is the same everywhere in a functioning democracy and it’s this, when things get so bad the victims demand effective measures, those trying to sort out the mess start by soon realising that they’re bound by the wrists to existing legal bonds of convential thinking.
Unless and until the scale of the inadequecy of our existing legal and sentancing systems and the complicity of the political elites of all main parties in forming the problems in the first place is realised, not much useful can be expected I’m sorry to say.

The establishment won’t even think about taking any serious or harsh action against Muslims until they’re forced to by the public or until the Muslims start raping and killing their family members.
When its lowly dregs/commoners and their families getting attacked, they couldn’t care less. I noticed their is an entrenched hierarchy in the UK, more than most nations, probably because they had a monarchy.

They don’t want to change. Often the IQ of muslims is so low that they cannot have abstract thought. They see no advantage in the western lifestyle because of zealotry yes, but also due to the inability to compare apples and oranges.

As always, the truth is “islamophobic”. At least someody higher up has started talking about it. The early releases would stop cold if the prisoners were being released into the judges’ and politicians’ neighborhoods and were going to school with their daughters.
