Majority of Utah Republican Voters Oppose New Witnesses in Impeachment Trial; Less Likely to Support Romney for Re-election if Romney votes for Witnesses
A Towery Survey of 400 registered voters who voted in recent Utah Republican primaries shows Utah Republicans wanting President Donald Trump to be acquitted and indicates potential major tension between Sen. Mitt Romney and Utah Republicans should Romney decide to vote to call more witnesses in the impeachment trial.
The poll is exclusive to The Sean Hannity Show. It is weighted for age, race, and gender.
When respondents were asked how they would like to see their two U.S. Senators vote in the trial, the results were:
Vote to acquit President Trump: 68%
Vote to convict President Trump: 26%
Undecided: 6%
When asked if they support or oppose the calling of additional witnesses in the Senate trial, the results were:
Oppose additional witnesses: 64%
Support additional witnesses: 27%
Undecided: 9%
When asked if they would be more or less likely to support Sen. Mitt Romney for the GOP nomination in a bid for re-election to the Senate if he voted to include new witnesses in the Senate trial the results were:
Less likely to support Romney: 60%
More likely to support Romney: 26%
It would have no impact on their vote: 10%
Undecided: 4%
By a 47%-to-31% level, Utah Republicans stated that if Romney voted to include additional witnesses, Trump should endorse another Republican in Romney’s re-election bid.
The telephone survey was conducted Jan 27-28 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5%.

This appearance was just days before the 2016 election. Over the years Towery has polled for news organizations ranging from broadcast affiliates as well as online news organizations such as Politico and Newsmax. As a nationally syndicated columnist he predicted the rise of Donald Trump in December of 2014. That prediction can be seen here:

Fortunately for us, Towery came out of retirement to provide polls and polling analysis for The Sean Hannity Show.
Towery had this to say about his Utah survey’s findings:
“It is pretty clear that well over a majority of Republicans in Utah want the impeachment trial over and the president acquitted. More importantly, they don’t want more witnesses to be included in the trial.
As for Mitt Romney, it is very clear that Republicans in his state do not want him voting to allow for more witnesses in the impeachment trial. Nearly 60% said they would be less likely to support him in his next primary and nearly 50% said President Trump should not endorse him in his next election if Romney chooses to vote for more witnesses in the trial.
There is a solid 26% or so who oppose Trump and stick with Romney no matter what the issue might be and that is to be expected in Utah. But what is shocking is the vast numbers who support Trump but would consider rejecting Romney if Romney pushes more witnesses.”
Mitt Romney Announces He’ll Vote with Democrats To Extend Impeachment Trial
Republican Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah, one of the original anti-Trumpers who in 2016 tried to block President Donald Trump from getting the party’s presidential nomination, announced that he wants to call additional witnesses in Trump’s Senate impeachment trial.
The action, which Romney had been publicly ruminating about throughout the week, was confirmed by Liz Johnson, Romney’s communications director.
“For those asking: As @SenatorRomney has said, he wants to hear from Ambassador Bolton, and he will vote in favor of the motion today to consider witnesses,” she tweeted.

I agree wholeheartedly, Mark, I, too, hope that the electorate is as savvy if not savvier than in 2016. If they, by-and-large cannot discern the true perfidious malevolence in this impeachment was no more than a coup to undermine the Presidency and the Constitution, the nation will suffer the aftermath.The Democrats fear they have little chance beating Trump; hence the ceaseless undermining of Trump, fake-news and the endless conjuring within the faux-Democrats and its tagalong Bolshevists. When Willard was running against obimbo, I went to the closest Republican campaign office. Typically, the off years I used to give $250.00 and presidential cycles around $500,00. I believe that there are charities, inclusive of one’s religious entity, to donate money. Those small amounts just make me feel like I have skin in the game. So, after making a very short story long … During the obimbo-Willard run, I was there and stated that I would rather vote for Adolph Hitler or Joseph Stalin than for obimbo. A couple of elderly (older than I am) started berating and scolding me. The young salaried campaign staff smiled and shook his head.

As a life-long resident of Tax-a-chusetts, I have to admit that Romney actually wasn’t that bad of a governor (considering the one’s we’ve had). Since he folded like a wet noodle against moderator Candy Crowley in the presidential debate, whoever she/he was/is, Willard Romney hasn’t been the same. I also admit to voting for him, only because I wouldn’t ever vote for the Kenyan Mozzlem…….

Utah is 65% Mormon. Although, that’s a far smaller number than two decades ago (approximately 82%), it’s still a sizeable majority. Unless another Mormon, with cleaner sacred undies, runs against Willard … he’s a shoe-in.

I really couldn’t understand Trump supporting Romney for senate. It took about two weeks after being elected to the post before Romney starting talking trash about Trump.
Romney is still angry about losing to Obama, and like the Dems shocked that Trump succeeded. Romney was a still and not able to think fast on his feet, and has shown himself to be more of a weasel than I thought.
When the Republicans call a party senator meeting, maybe leave him off the list.

Romney seems to have forgotten how Candy Crowley lied to America, about Obama’s comments in the Rose Garden, and even claimed to have the transcript handy. She embarrassed Romney at that debate and he lost the election. But, he seems to be more inclined to go along with the lying Democrats and their lying friends in the media. In short, he has no idea who his friends or enemies are. And, his actions in the impeachment trial show that he has no idea what the job of the U.S. Senate is, when it comes to impeachments.
