One of Iran’s most senior and important military figures, Major-General Qassem Soleimani, head of the elite Quds Force, has been killed in a rocket attack at Baghdad airport, officials have announced.
In a development that immediately reverberated across the region, officials said that a senior commander of Iraq’s militia forces, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, was also killed in a strike on their convoy inside the airport.
“The American and Israeli enemy is responsible for killing the mujahideen Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani,” said Ahmed al-Assadi, a spokesman for Iraq’s Popular Mo

Feints and waits for the optimum time to strike a devastating blow against the enemy. In reality, Trump’s genius was lulling the Iranians into thinking they were safe and then springing the trap “so perfectly.” I remind you Resa Shah is in the UAE waiting for an opportunity to storm into Persia with a superbly trained army to reclaim the Peacock Throne. One swift, decisive move, and Persia turn from a deadly enemy to an unquestioned ally. The Pahlavi’s will be restored, peace will reign and Trump will have earned his place on Mt.Rushmore.

Yes,by birth and circumstance the Shah is a Muslim,but one whose kingdom would be an ally of the USA and Israel and friendly and encouraging to Christian missionaries and would welcome the return of the Iranian exiles,particularly those of the Jewish faith who would bring great prosperity to his kingdom.

One should expect a violent response as this Persian nation has been taken over by the lunatic fringe. Certainly, no one should question Trumps decision to authorize this attack, as Iran has been pushing for it to happen. Now the big question is what will the lunes in that Nation choose to do about it. They have to know that the U.S. will be prepared and I have to assume that any violence will be met with more severe violence by us. Will this motivate the Iranian revolutionists to move against the Iranian regime? One would hope that would happen, and I believe that the U.S. ought to support those people if they do, and that we do it openly, as the cancer that is Iran will never be cured until the lunatics are removed from running that nation. Israel ought to prepare for the worst as they are a local target of the crazies, but I suspect that if the crazies chose to violate Israel, Israel will hit back very hard, and I would expect that the U.S. will assist them. We will all have to wait and see what happens next, but just maybe it is time to end the terror emanating out of Iran and cripple the terrorists out there, rather than try to buy their peace, which Obama and his followers screwed up badly. I wonder where Talib and Omar are hiding, though I expect they are not happy with our Presidents decision to erase from this world a number of the leaders of the world of terrorism.

Dennis, while I too would like to see the mullahs taken out, this strike does not change the overwhelming superiority that the regime has over its domestic opponents. Think Posse Comitatus vs Uncle Sam. Moreover, those Iranians inclined to revolt face a far more bloodthirsty regime than that of the shah. If we want to promote regime change in Iran, we must be prepared to assist to a far greater extent than a few pinprick attacks.
I think the mullahs still believe the USA does not have the stomach for a big war with Iran, and I think they are right in that estimation. And goodness knows we don’t want, and will not pursue, a land war in Iran. We can take out a lot of their military and security apparatus, and I’d like to see us to that, but the Iranian people will need to determine the fate of their own nation.
Unfortunately, any new popular government in Iran will likely want to be a regional superpower- at very least the “guardians of the Gulf”- and will retain Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

I really know very little about any of this but I have a feeling there is more to the story. If Iraq and Iran are supposed to be enemies, why or how did he get to Baghdad? Could it be that many of the people in Iraq are sympathetic to Iran and Iraq could be ripe for a civil war? The whole thing doesn’t make sense to me and hopefully someone with a lot more insight to this can explain it. I think the best plan would be to get out of the entire region as soon as possible and let the Muslims kill each other or figure out how to get along. I don’t have much hope for the second option happening but I can’t see spending more time, men and money on this.

It is essential the Persians be allowed to overthrow the mad mullahs. There is no need for US troops on the ground. Millions of Persians rallying to Resa Shah and the restoration of the Pahlavi’s is imminent and the best solution for turning Persia from our greatest enemy to an ally. This war’ which I see as inevitable should be fought as a war of stealth and not a long drawn out bloodbath of standing amies having to invade barbarian shores. It isn’t worth the bones of ONE UK or US soldier.
We can hit them using stealth technology and target the leadership. Of course this will have the knock on effect of them bringing on more terrorist attacks on our cities but that also is inevitable.

This is a great day for the Persian people. The leadership of the most oppressive, best organized and effective organization supporting the mad mullahs has been removed in one stroke.
