Egypt Ushers in New Year With Murderous Assaults on Christian Copts

The New Year began with an uptick in slaughter attempts on Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority.
Story continues below advertisementFirst, on January 12, 2020, a Muslim man crept up behind a Coptic woman walking home with groceries, pulled her head back with a hand full of hair, and slit her throat with a knife in the other hand.
Nearby people attacked and restrained the man in al-Wariq, Giza, where the incident took place. Catherine Ramzi was rushed to a nearby medical center, where her throat was sewn with 63 stitches; despite initial heavy bleeding, she managed to survive. The doctor told her that had the knife penetrated one millimeter more—her now mangled sweatshirt had provided some buffering against the knife—it would’ve reached her jugulars and killed her.
During an interview, she explained that she had never before seen the man. All she heard him say during the assault is that she “deserved it” because her “hair was exposed.” He may have also identified her as a Christian because, like many Copts, Catherine bears a visible tattoo of the cross on her hand.
When the interviewer suggested that the assailant must have been insane, Catherine and her sister, who was present during the interview, argued otherwise, giving several reasons—including that the man knew and casually recited his ID number, his home address, and other detailed information to the arresting officers—suggesting that he was sane in mind. “This was a determined man who sought to execute a specific idea in his mind,” said Catherine’s brother. “There is no way that he was acting in a craze.”
Two days after the attack on Catherine, on January 14, 2020, in the region of al-Maraj, Egypt, another Muslim man tried to slaughter a Coptic man with a sharp box-cutter in a public space; he managed only to slice off a portion of the Christian’s ear.
After Muhammad ‘Awad, 32, was arrested and questioned as to why he tried to murder Rafiq Karam, 56, he confessed that he did not know the Copt, but that he simply “hates Christians, for they are from among the People of Lot, and the [death] penalty must be applied to them, for they commit indecencies.”
“The People of Lot” is a reference to the homosexual behavior of the denizens of Sodom and Gomorrah, as recorded in the Bible and later the Koran. This would not be the first time a Muslim misunderstands Christianity’s message of love as promoting libertine or illicit sexuality.
These recent attacks are hardly unprecedented for Egypt. For example, one need look no further than to al-Wariq, Giza, where Catherine was attacked for a nearly identical precedent: there, in March 2017, another Muslim man slit the throat of another Christian woman, also in broad daylight—and also only to be characterized by authorities as “mentally unstable.”
In January 2017, another Muslim man crept up behind a Coptic man, 45, and slit his throat, killing him in Alexandria. The murderer’s reasoning was that the Christian man owned a shop that sold alcohol, which the Muslim deemed “contrary to the shar‘ia [Islamic law] and the religion [Islam].” There are many more examples.
In other words, these most recent and random murder attempts of 2020 are clear indicators that there’s nothing “new” about the New Year—at least not in Egypt, where its Coptic minorities continue to be targeted for slaughter, simply for being Christians.

“Commit Indecencies” That has to be the most hypocritical statement I have heard for a while. I am rapidly beginning to shed my humanitarian feelings and see only extermination as the only way to rid the planet of them and their ideology and their noxious god. No one has the courage to do this so we are royally screwed. The Copts have endured near 1300 years of this and still they survive, Now THAT is Christianity!

Indeed, Hinduism is a pretty peaceful religion and I wasn’t a fan of Gandhi either, he loved Muslims so that makes him a traitor imo. However his peaceful resistance did help India get its freedom and avoided war with Britain so he deserves credit for that.

Agreed totally. My grandfather was in??? when that train came in and saw what the muslims did. But you can say the same about every British colony in Africa who have fallen far lower as the British made the mistake of treating them as though they were adults…the 5 stages of African independence:
1) the elite grab the overseas reserves and enrich themselves;
2) noticing the money inflow decreasing they nationalize the industries and nepotism and cronyism drive these into the ground and destroy them;
3) They then nationalize the farms driving the food production to almost zero;

5) Famine and chaos and massive flight.

I do not disagree with that but do realize that NO Christian evangelist goes near ANY muslim villages anywhere in Asia or the ME and now probably most of Africa. As I am in no position to know or argue about what you say there I so hope that you are right. I keep hearing such but the feedback I receive from those in such places tells me different but then that is hardly indicative of the whole as it is a very small number. Such people are extremely brave and one of them was my best friend. he saved a woman’s life and the husband slit his throat, not for evangelising but for being Christian.

Am I the only one who recalls that during the primary in 2016, candidate Trump said he wanted to create a safe space in the ME and return the “refugees” Obama brought in, back to their own climate and environment?
What happened to that? Can a safe space not be created to return these people? And how many kids have they had since they were brought here? As I understand it, “refugees” kids cannot claim citizenship.
They have 3 kids to our every one kids…how is that impacting our schools…then you have all the illegal Hispanic kids. According to figures I’ve seen, they are costing us hundreds of millions a year to educate, feed, and provide medical care.

There is a time for war and a time for peace. I would argue that President Bush deceived the American people to go to war with Iraq and his actions brought about the build up of Al Qaeda and then ISIS, along with the death of hundreds of thousands and many more wounded and maimed. When a nation does evil it will face consequences from other nations and from God Almighty. We (the US) did evil in going to war with Iraq.
Obama also assisted the Muslim forces in Eqypt and has brought greater trouble, persecution and death to Coptic Christians as one result.
The Christian response to evil is to seek justice. That would mean George W. Bush and Barrack H. Obama must be dealt with by the U.S. people, or all the U.S. will be judged by God in his time. Such a thing is not even on the radar of most Americans. They have yet to wake up regarding the slaughter of their own babies!
I have weapons for self-defense and will use them as needed. But criminals should be dealt with one way and division in a country another. I think the U.S. has great division and problems of its own and has lost the moral authority, in my opinion, to clearly deal with international problems of other nations.

And that means No muzrat owned taxis restaurants convenience stores or business of any kind.

Boris is a big admirer of Churchill and has even wrote a book about him. I don’t generally trust mainstream politicians but Boris has hardly put a foot wrong up to now’ apart from making some concession to the Northern Ireland border which I’m sure will get sorted out for the better over the next few months.
I expect his name to be chanted wildly on the streets around Whitehall where I’ll be celebrating our freedom from the EU globalist tyranny on Friday.

We must remember though that AMW and Boris are two different political entities and Boris must play the diplomat whereas AMW has much more freedom.
As I have said, I’m no truster of politicians but Boris is doing a good job up to now so I can not condemn him. In fact he’s probably the best PM that I have seen in my lifetime.

Haven’t spoken to her for a while.

What I have heard is that there are things we are told are part of Islam, but they actually aren’t. They are really just customs which people follow but which are not backed by religious edict.
Like Female Genital Mutilation. I heard it is not a religious commandment of Muslims. But people do it to their girls to make them more attractive to prospective husbands.
