It Didn’t Start with Soleimani: Iran Has Wanted War with the US for Decades

37

Leftists are outraged and is claiming that Trump’s targeting of Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani will start a war. However, all those who are blaming Trump for ramping up tensions with Iran are ignoring the fact that Iran has been working toward a war with the U.S. for decades.

On November 2, 2015, a commanding majority of the Majlis, 192 of its 290 members, agreed to a statement saying that “Death to America,” which continues to be chanted at every Friday prayer in Iranian mosques as well as at anti-American protests, was not just a slogan: it had “turned into the symbol of the Islamic Republic and all struggling nations.”

A communal desire to destroy the United States and commit mass murder of its citizens is the Islamic Republic of Iran’s very identity.

Story continues below advertisement

As Barack Obama (who stopped Israel from going after Soleimani) concluded their nuclear deal with Iran, Iranian political analyst Ali Wambold, pointed out that the Constitution of the Islamic Republic “proclaims ‘the ideological mission of jihad,’ which it defines as ‘extending the sovereignty of God’s law throughout the world,’ through Iran’s Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.” Thus, he said, “to treat with the Islamic Republic over the particulars of its weaponry while failing to address the very purpose of its bellicosity is delusional. The so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action does nothing to change the fact that, in plain Farsi, Iran is committed to world conquest by Islam, with its clerics as warlords. Those to be conquered include America (the ‘Great Satan’), Israel (the ‘Little Satan’) and the Sunni-led Gulf States.”

Back in July 2005, then–Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said essentially the same thing: “The message of the Revolution is global, and is not restricted to a specific place or time. Have no doubt … Allah willing, Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountain tops of the world.”

Was this just a pious hope for the success of Islamic proselytizing? Hardly, given Ahmadinejad’s reference to the Islamic Revolution, the violent movement that had brought the Islamic Republic of Iran into being in 1979. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has emphasized that Iran’s foreign policy was “based on Islam and stems from the aspirations and goals of the Revolution.” No less an authority than Khamenei’s predecessor, the Ayatollah Khomeini, had said from the beginning that the goals of that Revolution were global: “We shall export our revolution to the whole world. Until the cry ‘There is no god but Allah’ resounds over the whole world, there will be struggle.” And the Iranian politician Mohsen Rezaei once told a cheering Iranian crowd: “We will build a force that will demolish the enemies of Islam, continue the path of our great prophet Muhammad, and raise the flag of Islam in all corners of the world.”

A neon sign in Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport reads, in English, “In future Islam will destroy Satanic sovereignty of the West.”

Iran’s commitment to world conquest in the name of Islam—and to the defeat of America in particular—precludes lasting peace with the United States. Iran’s Brigadier General Qolamhossein Qeib-parvar of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared: “There are only two things that would end enmity between us and the US. Either the US president and EU leaders should convert to Islam and imitate the Supreme Leader, or Iran should abandon Islam and the Islamic revolution. If they are not going to turn Muslim, we are not going to abandon Islam or the revolution either. But I do not know why some people believe that some day we will make peace with the US and start relations with them.”

On September 23, 2015, two months after the nuke deal was finalized, Khamenei published an article entitled “The Idols Will Be Shattered,” illustrated with a drawing of the Statue of Liberty shattered in pieces. In it he declared, “The idol of the soul, the idol of pride, [and] the idol of sexual lust; the idol of tyranny and subservience; the idol of global tyranny [that is, the U.S.]; the idol of sloth and irresponsibility; and the other idols that shame the precious human soul—a plan that will spring forth from the depths of the heart will shatter them.”

In January 2014, the Chief Commander of the IRGC, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, boasted that “Islam’s leaders have long ago prepared us for a great and decisive confrontation….The sun of America’s imperialist civilization is nearing its setting.” He claimed that “the US will never understand the Islamic Republic of Iran’s offensive scope.” Offensive, not defensive.

The deputy commander of the IRGC, Hossain Salami, said in May 2015 that Iran actually wanted war with the United States: “We have prepared ourselves for the most dangerous scenarios and this is no big deal and is simple to digest for U.S.; we welcome war with the U.S. as we do believe that it will be the scene for our success to display the real potentials of our power.”

All this was well before Trump became President and well before Soleimani was killed. Much of it came while the nuclear deal that the Left so loves was being negotiated, or after it was signed. Those who are claiming that Obama had brought peace with Iran and that Trump destroyed it are banking on the American people not knowing the true intentions and activities of the Islamic Republic. Luckily, the White House is currently occupied by people who are not so deceptive.

There is no war, these are just counter-terrorism operations
– Iran military budget = $16 billion,
– USA military budget = $738 billion
– Iran economy is melting down from Trump sanctions
– Iran is desperately trying to avoid collapse
– Islamist terrorism is just a normal part of Jihad
– it will continue until Iran’s Mullahs are overthrown, not before

Thanks for the clear cut info. I wish everyone could see the logic as you do. It’s a sad state of affairs when American can’t even trust the majority in the House.

Iran is desperate. My only worry is if Russia or China get involved. Other than that, Iran is toast. Iran is unstable and a revolution could easily happen to boot out the crazy mullahs.

russia, can’t get involved, they are already stretched thin militarily, china won’t get involved because they gain nothing from doing so. In fact, I would bank on russia and china staying out of it, for russia it means an increased market for their oil in the short term, for china it would mean a decreased price in oil long term after Iran gets demolished. there are other considerations, but money is always at the heart of this.

Russia was very glad to see Soleimani gone. He was a wild card or particular worry to Putin as Soleimani was behind Iranian support of Chechens against Moscow and of course Putin.

As the article states, Iran is on an offensive, and they use unconventional means to achieve their ends.

I wouldn’t expect any kind of revolution or uprising to arrest their ambitions.

Recently, over the last few months, there have been demonstrations in Iraq and hundreds of protestors have been killed. It’s essentially live ammunition against unarmed protestors.
There were protests years ago in Iran, during the Obama administration with demonstrators being killed by government forces.

China can’t project enough force to take Taiwan right off it’s own coast and Russia is going to watch as its latest, newest, radar installations get turned into dust. Russia only gets involved on the cheap. Putin is many things but he isn’t stupid.

I think that Russia and China would also rather be dealing with a stabil and prosperous Iran than with these ragheaded unpredictable idiots. Most Iranians would be equally happy.

That’s the hell of it. There are good Iranians. In fact, the crazy ones making threats every 5 minutes are a minority. It would be nice to see Iran return to pre-1979 sanity.

In order for that to happen it will take the installation of a Strong Nan who is Persian but has a Western Outlook. Such a hypothetical strong man will require the support of Western Democracies until he can extend the reach of his power and authority sufficiently to quash the Mullahs who currently rule the country from behind the scenes.
If you read the Iranian Constitution you will find that with all of the window dressings of Democracy and Republic, the ultimate power is held by a small ruling council comprised of Mullahs with Military Power. the President, the ostensible head of the face of government reports to and is under the control of the Supreme Ayatollah.
Just like Islam is a Blood Cult with a thin veneer of [stolen] religious elements for public show, Iran is a Theocracy with a veneer of Civilized Government operating under a Constitution as its public face.
When the Shah was betrayed and allowed to be overthrown the Western Perspective in Iran was dissolved, with many Persians of Western Education and Perspective being forced to flee the country. Ever since we have had nothing but Strife and Discord, manufactured by the ruling cabal of Mullahs intent on the world domination of their Blood Cult, infesting world politics.
Restore a Strong Man to power in Iran and much of the disruptive activity we see today will disappear as soon as that Strong Man can hunt down and destroy the Command and Control Structures of the various sectarian militias doing the actual trouble-making.

It’s not simply the mullahs that have this hatred for truth and freedom. It is the creatures of Irene. The acts of terrorism, perpetrated by the irenian creatures, will not cease until there is a full scale, scorched earth war to wipe out those foul and vile creatures. Not until they are all wiped from the face of the earth, human beings will not have peace.

I prefer to see the Mullahs exit via the same door as Soleimani. It is the only message the Jihad understands.

Even more so because the Myth of the 72 Virgins comes from a scribal copying error of an early Koranic Text.
The original translation is “a small handful of dried fruit”, basically the lunchbox sized box of raisins with [if you’re lucky] a picture of a woman in a sun bonnet on it.

“A neon sign in Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport reads, in English, “In future Islam will destroy Satanic sovereignty of the West.” Ok. Perhaps if Trump has to follow through and hit those 52 targets, he can finish that operation by taking a piss, ‘flipping the bird’ (along with some Marines) on that broken sign and posting the picture on billboards all over Tehran.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Iran start this the they seized our embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held DIPLOMATS hostage for 14 months? Terrorists don’t declare war and they never signed onto the Geneva Convention. Terrorists told “Peanuts and Love to go fornic@te himself, but when Reagan was sworn in our people were out of Iran within the hour. If you need a refresher on dealing with bullies, go watch “A Christmas Story”.

You’re right …

the proximate conflict with Iran began in 1979 …

after Jimmy F. Carter replaced the ‘evil’ Shah with ‘virtuous’ Ayatollah. …

… and just to address the inevitable ‘correction’ …

Yes we all know Islam has been at work on everything good and normal for almost 1500 years,

Happy New Year to you and yours, btw!

Islamist have wanted to destroy western culture for the lat 1,300 years. What we see unfolding is not their strategy–their strategy is to destroy western civilization. What we see is only their tactics. The reason for this is because they truly believe that the kingdom of God on earth cannot be attained as long as there are unbelievers. As such, western civilization is “fitna” Fitna is usually translated as infidel. However, that is an incomplete meaning of the word. Fitna is one who stands in the way of righteousness and holiness. As a result, the Islamist cannot have the relationship with God which they desperately yearn for. Ergo, the Islamist are the victims.
, and we are the evil doers.

We will never be able to protect ourselves, our culture, or our children until we understand that simple fact. …and make no mistake, our freedom, our culture, and our lives are at risk.

Of course they want a war with us. Just like, “The Mouse That Roared”. They think they can go to war with us, lose real quick than we will spend a trillion bucks to build them back up. There is just one thing they did not figure on. President Trump would rather take out the big boys than spend the money to let them do it all over again.

Like all Muslims, he seems to hold out his hands because he expects a kind of “blessing” from above. I would have liked to piss on his hands so he could rub it on his face.

If he had bent down in the typical “prayer position” of the Muslims, I would have given him a good kick in the ass.

No normal terrestrial human being can refuse this request (actually an explicit invitation)!

Even if my foot was broken afterwards, because the kick was so hard that it shattered his coccyx.

“We shall export our revolution to the whole world. Until the cry ‘There is no god but Allah’ resounds over the whole world, there will be struggle.” America just happens to be a major non-Muslim power in the world but Islam takes advantage of its internal weakness with the anti-American Democrats. Isn’t it interesting that Muslims don’t want to wage Jihad against the Satanic Chicoms who actually persecute Muslims in their country. Muslims respect totalitarian China.

“Islam is concerned with establishing itself in THIS life, not merely the after life.

It is not merely a spiritual guide on how to attain salvation after death – it is very much as political on how to enforce these values here and now on earth.

This fact is absolutely critical in understanding why it is so hard to expect a true follower of Islam to distinguish between personal and public life – because the personal rules MUST be tirelessly enforced in society as far as his powers will let him.

This isn’t a faith like Christianity where Jesus says “My kingdom is NOT of this world” i.e. forget your earthly existence. Somewhat nihilistic though that may be, Christianity gives its followers a HUGE way out for not having to fanatically impose its principles in public life.

Islam is anything but that – very far from it, it effectively says “Not only should you follow these principles but also do your best to enforce these laws on earth” – which means society and public affairs.”
A vote for a democrat is a vote for islam and the slavery of sharia!

Actually I think Iran does not want war with the US. They just want to be at the brink of war to provide fodder for our Islamic enemy all over the world. This will not cease until we DECISIVELY DEFEAT THEM! We should decisively DEFEAT them NOW!

Iran does want war with the US.
They want to avenge the removal of their dully elected leader.

“On Aug. 19, 2013, the CIA publicly admitted for the first time its involvement in the 1953 coup against Iran’s elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh.”

The Shah was such a lovely man.
“SAVAK (Persian: ساواک‎, short for سازمان اطلاعات و امنیت کشور Sāzemān-e Ettelā’āt va Amniyat-e Keshvar, literally “National Organization for Security and Intelligence”) was the secret police, domestic security and intelligence service in Iran during the reign of the Pahlavi dynasty. It was established by Mohammad Reza Shah with the help of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)[2] and the Israeli Mossad.[3] SAVAK operated from 1957 until the Iranian Revolution of 1979, when the prime minister Shapour Bakhtiar ordered its dissolution during the outbreak of Iranian Revolution. SAVAK has been described as Iran’s “most hated and feared institution” prior to the revolution of 1979 because of its practice of torturing and executing opponents of the Pahlavi regime.[4][5] At its peak, the organization had as many as 60,000 agents serving in its ranks according to one source,[6] and another source by Gholam Reza Afkhami estimates SAVAK staffing at between 4,000 and 6,000.[7]”

Do you have any idea why so many Iranians hate America?
