Cuban baseball players defect on a regular basis leaving the prison island for the big bucks of U.S. Major League Baseball. Luis Robert in 2017, Adolis Garcia in 2016, and Yordan Alvarez also in 2016 are on that list.
An Iranian martial arts Olympian joined that noble trek to freedom on Saturday, as 21 year old Kimia Alizadeh defected to the Netherlands. The report is from Agence-France Presse. The young athlete won a bronze medal in Taekwondo at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janiero.

4 years agoReply to eassaYou are not smart enough to realize there is a major difference between the bible and the new testament. The bible was written way before the new testament, and is the history of creation that Abrahamic people follow.
The new testament is a collection of Jesus stories, and interpretations of the old.
So, stop being an idiot and learn to read what’s written, and don’t respond until you can figure it out. Jesus may not have been an actual living person who ever existed. The new testament was written by the Greeks using translations (poorly done too) from Hebrew to Greek, and they were written long after his place in history. I suppose you might also believe in King Arthur and Merlin, but they aren’t factual either.
And worse, the BS attributed, and believed about Jesus is frightening. You can’t possibly be so stupid to think he cured a Leper? Did the Leper’s fingers and nose regrow? Raise people from the dead? You believe in stories that are not scientifficly possible, and you also overlook the
First Commandment and follow a false god. I mean, you could not follow the first Commandment, but you believe all the made up, improbable stories? BO supported the tyrannical theocracy over the ones that wanted freedom from that theocracy. Trump has put sanctions in place because of Iran’s murder and enslavement of those political dissidents. It’s possible the dissidents outnumber those in power and their supporters but it is the government who has the guns.
Also note, when you see people chanting “Death to America” many of them are doing so against their will.
In all, it’s difficult to know what percent want to remove their leaders. It’s not like they have free elections. And like Islam apostatizing is not allowed.

I’m sure there are people that do things in Iran that don’t want to do them. I know for instance that one in for Muslims wants to leave Islam.
However, if you are a Muslim and you don’t want to leave Islam oh, you are still complicit in all of those beliefs including wanting to annihilate all non-muslims.There are also non-muslims in Iran even if they’re very few in comparison. I certainly don’t think you can say what you say with authority. Even in Canada, all Muslims when you get to know them and they get to trust you openly admit that we non-muslims are all worthy of execution. The ones that want to do it themselves usually don’t say so. The ones that want the government when the government of Canada becomes Islamic to do so are the ones that will tell you openly. They will only tell you openly and they want to be the ones to do the killing if they think that you are converting. I have been studying Muslims in Canada and the world for over 20 years. You do not know what you are talkin about with enough authority to say what you say. You can believe that Iranians are victims all you want. They are not. Democracy is the law of the jungle. That means that the majority of Iranians were more than happy to be treated the way they were treated by their government. The minorities are irrelevant to democracy. Unfortunately, democracy doesn’t exist because even in our cultures, minority rights are preferred over majority rights and we are abused out of asserting our majority rights.
Iranians Mass migrated to Venezuela. They were not under any kind of Islamic control because they are the minority in Venezuela. Yet they still completely destabilized Venezuela.
And they are still pulling the same garbage trying to impose Islamic law on everyone.

Anybody who claims to be Muslim while denying the totalitarian nature of Islam is a liar or they are utterly ignorant of the Islamic scriptures… there are many Muslims who are ignorant of the Islamic scriptures as there are many Christians who are ignorant of the Bible but by supporting the ideology, i.e. declaring themselves Muslims, means enabling all of it… I’d say “all of it… the good, the bad and the ugly” only there is no good in Islam.

I agree with everything you just said but I must add that Islam is universal threat regardless of whether or not an individual is aware of their beliefs or what level they live those beliefs because at any moment they could “get religious” and immediately that changes. Regardless of personal perspectives on being a Muslim, no Muslims should be permitted to immigrate anywhere but an Islamic country and all current and converted Muslims should be expected to leave for the same reasons.
Because Islam itself makes you dangerous to everyone including other Muslims but especially non-muslims who do not have a religious mandate to annihilate non-members of their faith.

A not uncommon phenomenon… the cultural Muslim, drinking and visiting strip clubs, who goes jihad after deciding it is his time to seek his guaranteed “paradise”.

Exactly for the reason you’ve stated.. that a Muslim can get devout at any moment and start taking the Islamic scriptures seriously and then go on a jihad.
The US has outlawed religion in the past. A religion that advocates illegal activity is not given 1st Amendment protections. Islam prescribes illegal activity from spousal abuse to FGM to pedophilia to even terrorism as a means to force Islam on the rest of us is not something that should be protected as a religion. And the truth is, Islam is a political ideology that merely uses religious rituals as a means to ensure obedience to the cause. And because it is a political ideology, it should be outlawed as was past religions.
4 years agoReply to created4elI believe it still is as Muslims have been creating warfare everywhere (every major conflict in history was created by Muslims) and every time there’s a major war they usually re-establish laws rendering it illegal. They just don’t enforce those laws. Some of them have been removed but they definitely need stronger written laws banning Islam and Muslims in our countries.

4 years agoReply to JppJpp, actually it is common in Iran to hate islam. Much of the citizenry blame allah for all their miseries. The Christian faith is growing faster in Iran than any place else on the planet. Even with all the persecution, the underground church is flourishing. 🙂

4 years agoReply to IkeIt seems “growing faster than any place else on the planet” is impossible to quantify in an absolute sense. But if there is only one Christian and they convert 3 to Christianity per year then you have 300% growth. Whereas if you have 1000 Christians and you convert 3 people per year then you have 0.3% growth. So which is growing faster? It depends on how you look at things.
What we do know is the underground church is growing very fast and it’s assumed the number of Christians is small. It is similar situation in China. Because of the nature of the repressive regimes the number of people converting to Christianity is kept secret. But there is word from the underground church that comes through missionaries that attest to the high rate of growth.
4 years agoReply to created4elActually it is not impossible to quantify. This is common knowledge among worldwide missions centered in the Middle East, but particularly in Iran.

4 years agoReply to IkeIke, I am involved with a mission base that is working in the Middle East, I do not need to cite this, missionaries connected to the worldwide church know this to be true. Iranian ministers and evangelists and members of the underground church come to the base and report what is taking place in Iran, and our missionaries working inside of Iran report the same thing.
These Iranian believers are in the center of a persecution that would make most U.S. Christians deny their faith! But nevertheless, Iranians are turning to the One True Living God.
I was fortunate to meet a visiting Iranian man who is the main songwriter for the Iranian Christian Church. Very interesting accounts of the love of God being put to music in this wickedly oppressive nation. 🙂

After all, at the core of sharia is Islam. The Allah of Islam is a thug they worship. Islam is about power. It’s followers submit to that power. Islam is a political ideology with religious rituals that are used to control their members, ie differentiate between faithful followers versus dissidents.
4 years agoGood for her. The people of Iran and other Islamic countries are individual human beings and God’s children, as are we. They cannot be judged only as Muslims. Their individual charactor and needs as human beings are what marks them as individuals, and when they stand up for themselves and risk their lives to oppose the mullahs, God Bless them
4 years agoOne doesn’t have to reject claims based on faith to reject Islam. Everybody uses reason to justify what they believe. Even you take things by faith and use reasoning to justify it… we all do.
Every worldview including yours makes truth claims. The question is which worldview makes truth claims that are actually true and coherent. Islam makes claims about creation that are obviously false. It makes scientific claims such as semen coming from somewhere other than the testicles. Islam claims women are only half as intelligent as men. Such claims are demonstrably false. Islam makes claims about Christianity that are obviously false. All these prove that Islam is a manmade religion. In fact if you study Islam objectively you will find it is a political ideology with religious rituals built into it to determine those who can be trusted from those who cannot.
4 years agoWe need to understand that Iran is not an Arab country, though it is Islamic, and we know where that leaves women. We also see in these pictures that she still has a rag on her head, so I doubt she wants anything more than freedom.
Freedom comes with the cost of leaving friends and family behind, but the new doors open, and reveal that young people are much the same everywhere. They will rebel when they think they are right. And, in this case, perhaps the timing was just right.
I noticed few of these people are headed to the U.S. so I imagine they only want to flee their regime, not head towards a place where they might need a job.4 years agoI hope she wakes up and sees it is I-slam that is the problem and the “leaders” are “only doing their faithful service” to the BARBARIC TOTALITARIAN POLITICAL SYSTEM of REPRESSION, SUBJUGATION, SLAVERY and DEATH.
