Denouncing Trump Plan as ‘Unacceptable,’ Sanders Declares It Is Time to ‘End the Israeli Occupation’

After U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday unveiled his long-awaited “peace deal” for the Israel-Palestine conflict, Sen. Bernie Sanders condemned the proposal as “unacceptable” and called for an end to Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian territories.
Sanders (I-Vt.), a top candidate in the Democratic Party’s 2020 presidential primary race, responded to Trump’s plan in pair of tweets, envisioning a U.S. policy that promotes “a just and durable agreement.”
The tweets aligned closely with a statement from the senator’s office, in which Sanders said any acceptable deal “must end the Israeli occupation that began in 1967 and enable Palestinian self-determination in an independent, democratic, economically viable state of their own alongside a secure and democratic state of Israel.”
Sanders, who would be the first Jewish president, added that “Trump’s so-called ‘peace deal’ doesn’t come close, and will only perpetuate the conflict, and undermine the security interests of Americans, Israelis, and Palestinians.”
The White House hopeful’s comments Tuesday were not the first time Sanders has spoken out in recent months for the Palestinian people. In October 2019, the senator suggested using the billions of dollars in military aid that the United States supplies to Israel each year to pressure Netanyahu’s government to end its horrific treatment of Palestinians.
Sanders was far from the only lawmaker to decry Trump’s new plan, which was drafted under the direction of Jared Kushner—the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser—and unveiled at the White House with Israeli Prime Benjamin Netanyahu.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), one of Sanders’ rivals in the primary race, tweeted Tuesday that “Trump’s ‘peace plan’ is a rubber stamp for annexation and offers no chance for a real Palestinian state.”
“Releasing a plan without negotiating with Palestinians isn’t diplomacy, it’s a sham,” Warren added. “I will oppose unilateral annexation in any form—and reverse any policy that supports it.”

I don’t know what it takes to get through to Bernie.
The DEM candidates are so embarassing. We are seeing MENTAL ILLNESS on parade for candidates. I don’t want to think about what other international leaders are thinking of our country. These Presidential DEM candidates truly have mental issues.
AOC recently pinch hit for Bernie at a rally for him because he was tied up with the phony impeachment charade. During the rally AOC NEVER mentioned Bernie’s name. Bernie’s rally became all about AOC!

Age has not been kind to his current wife… It looks like eating is a comfort to her. Prior to her marrying Bernie, she was divorced from another guy and brought along three kids from that marriage.
I think you spoke too soon about Bernie. This is his second marriage. Bernie’s first wife was Deborah Shilling Messing. It didn’t last long.
“Sanders and Deborah, who later remarried, first met while they were in both in college and moved to a sugar shack without electricity on 85 acres of land in Middlesex, Vermont, a small town just outside the state’s capital, Montpelier. The marriage, however, did not last long. The couple divorced in 1966 after just 18 months as husband and wife.”

Even the Trump administration, alas, is obliged to give lip service to the absurd idea of a “Palestinian state” – a state that has never existed, and never will.
I suspect as well that the American Jewish community, which was so supportive of Obama, remains insufficiently self-aware: they will not acknowledge that Sanders is determined to continue where Obama left off – and further damage the Jewish state.
In any case, the success of the Sanders candidacy, such as it is, is already a disgrace.

I don’t think the plan will work but I am certainly not siding with our enemies as you consistently do. Trump’s heart is in the right place and he genuinely wants peace where as all you do is offer up hatred, divisiveness, anti semitisim and now anti Christian rhetoric. I guess that’s par for the course when you are a Marxist who defends Islam..

High on anti-Semitic Hate Bernie is. There are so many Jew haters in the Democratic party now that that the old tramp has to crank up the rhetoric to keep pace with them all. Looking at his scrunched-up face, you know that it’s consuming his entire being, day and night, 24/7. Ole Bern has to be on top of his game for anyone to even considering voting for him — for anything!
Sanders is one lost human being who will sacrifice any and all of his fellow Jews just to further his detestable and muddling political ambitions. Brain fog doesn’t even begin to describe Bernie’s mental state. What a Putz!

Bernie and Abbas are one of the same, not entirely, Abbas is an autocrat while Sanders endeavors to meet equal footing with Abbas, a certified autocrat. Indeed, Abbas and his comrades in arms are also terrorists and murderers. Bernie, on-the-other-hand, will, in all likelihood, not win the presidency. The latter, of course, is not a given or carved on stone. Bernie Sanders’ requisites for becoming President of this Republic are naught; however, one has witnessed those lacking in qualities, or a superlative resume voted the Commander-in-Chief, the new messiah, Barack Obama. A man whose qualities and qualifications were no more than hyperbolic conjuring.
The Trump Peace Plan may well be a ruse by President Trump. Trump may be cognizant that Abbas will reject the proposal, exposing to those supporting faux-Palestine, the Palestinians, Abbas, and others of this Terrorist Pact whose endeavor is not statehood but terrorsim. Abbas’ real objective is to pursue the murdering of Israelis/Jews, Americans, or other innocents, most crucial is eradicating the State of Israel. The likes of Sanders, the Democrats, or others of radicalized faux-Liberalism revere Abbas as they had Yasser Arafat. Once again, the Democrats and those of its perfidious-like have underestimated President Trump. One only hopes that, in the end, Abbas’ true identity, a terrorist, opens a few eyes, and subsequently, reveals that the Democrats are one of the same.

I wouldn’t call Bernie Sanders a self-hating Jew or anti-Semite, rather he is a nominal Jew. A man who happened to be born of Jewish parents, which he cannot deny, but he has no willing connections to the Jewish faith or to Jewish interests.
